The best restaurants serving French food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

Highly recommend. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I shall return as the meal was excellent value.

A great venue with lovely decor and friendly staff. Small plates were so good we ordered a second round. The oysters were a particular favourite.

We called in to Rustique quite late on a Saturday evening after going on a Ghost tour of York. We were welcomed in and shown to an upstairs table. It was everything we needed after a chilly Autumn day. The staff were great and the food was delicious. The prices , although not cheap, were reasonable for the quality of the restaurant and food.

Went to Cote for dinner today with my family and it took them 1 h 20 to bring us our food and then when food came, it was very average. I had a chicken dish which was cooked so much it was tough to cut and came with reheated roasted potatoes. A few of the group had steaks which were chewy and came with very sad dry green leaves. All very disappointing.

Milkshakes were delicious the best in York but the waiting time was very long over a hour for 2 drinks , I’m Judy glad when they arrived they were absolutely delicious so made up for the long wait. I assume busy due to nice food

Nos adentramos en el Ivy sin saber nada sobre él, pero parecía atractivo desde el exterior y hacía frío y lluvia y un clima horrible - día sabio. Qué gratamente sorprendidos estábamos. Parecía mocoso y congestionado, pero no lo era. Hermoso ambiente y la comida era deliciosa. Mi amigo tenía el Menú 1917 de entrada y principal: Salmón Rillette con aguacate, ensalada y pan de centeno y principal de Pastel de Pastores. Comí un entrante de vieiras asadas con crema de espinacas y bocanadas de patata. El costo: no más de lo que habría pagado en un café del barrio. ¡Y el baño de damas de color rosa es hermoso!

This has become a family tradition on our pilgrimages to York, ironically we can never remember the name and accidentally refer to it by it's name. To quote my 12 year old who's a lover of all things Nutella, it's banging!

Had special biryana lamb very tough sauce good rice good starters again lamb tough chapatis were very rubbery and the service charge is not justified nor optional.

Absolutely delicious food, high quality ingredients and helpful attentive staff. My wife had a sandwich and a drink for £9 and I had steak pie for £12, which was very high quality. The atmosphere is wonderful given the interior surroundings and the location is tucked in nicely just off the main areas.

Super expensive, hardly any choice, rude staff. No ice with drinks, a mug of tea , no saucers? Not a good experience in my opinion.

One of my favourite pubs in York. Excellent choice of beers. Am yet to sample the food but it sounds great.
