Been meaning to drop a review on Romy's for a while - Superb coffee & cakes served by a young entrepreneurial team. Came across them at the Edge Festival in Solva. They have a great mobile offer that would be terrific at any outside event - wedding, party, conference etc- Hope they manage to get that pitch in Tenby - would be a big asset to the town. Wish the team all the success - keep up the great service and quality

A new restaurant in the area since we were here last. It was a last minute booking but they managed to squeeze us in if we arrived early. The only problem for us was that the menu was full of great ādifferentā choices, and it was difficult to decide! I had the mushroom, leek, and white truffle soup, followed by the pork belly with some excellent accompaniments (I especially like the bean cassoulet), while my wife had a broccoli starter (I canāt remember all that was in it but she said it was so full of flavours) followed by the smoked haddock which she claims is the best smoked haddock she has ever tasted , and we know our fish! No licence so we took our own wine and they offered to keep the white wine in the fridge and be served as and when, or in a cooler at the table. Iced water was automatic. Presentation superb, service was impeccable, and the chef took time out to chat. If you havenāt been here, youāre missing out - itās superb - we will be back!

Visiting Montrose for the first time as my partnerās mother has just moved there. She found this bakery on a 10 best website in Montrose and we walked down to try it. A five minute walk from the centre, it is a lovely and bright little shop with a few sets of tables to eat in and a beautiful display of different flavours of tart and a selection of cakes. Iāve now visited twice in two days and had hot chocolate, flat white, salmon and spinach tart, raspberry and vanilla cheesecake, lemon and blueberry cake, and pistachio and chocolate brownie. This may sound slightly greedy but trust me, it was all worth it! Highly recommend for takeaway or eat in. Friendly and chatty staff, a family run business that also sell at local farmers markets.

Couldn't ask for a better meal than at Achray House. The chef has to be commended for the fabulous food on offer here.

This Cafe 'formerly 'the Thistle' Now 'THE MAISON' is Like finding a golden nugget to me, I like a morning roll such as egg sausage bacon etc. And if there is one thing that annoys me is the dreaded 'dry roll' without spread of some sorts. One of the things i like about this new cafe is āThey do this... without you having to askā.. Now after warning 3 Other cafes in the area if they continued the practice of the 'dreaded dry morning roll , I would go elsewhere. Unfortunately they continued to give me thee old Gordon Ramsey trick of sticking the roll on the hot plate & Ignored my customer feed back.ā¦ So what did i do?ā¦ Well being a man of my word, I do not accept āsecond bestā and Loe and behold the next again Dayā¦. I find this Diamond of a cafe' THE MAISON' who believe in giving the customer what they want ā¦ So let me say... this this is the best Cafe in the Tollcross area, so give them a try I guarantee you will not be disappointed and will surely become a regular. Apart from morning rolls & breakfasts they have an Excellent lunch and dinner menu, you will walk away completely satisfied with the food and thee Delightful helpful and polite staff Staff.

Incredibly fast service. Almost too fast, really, as we were there to relax, but we're in and out in under 50mins. It took us longer to drive there, although to eat! Puds - lemon tart, best we've ever had. Menu ok, but not as good as it was. There are few alternatives to fish dishes and vegetarian dish (singular option) uninspired. Staff were cheery and polite but just all too quick. We felt hurried.

Very poor communication in respect of getting back to you and enquiring about vegetarian meals. Still not resolved . Asked for vegetarian option for April, after 3 attempts at contacting them . Still haven't seen a menu even though I was told it would be available early April.

A great experience at The Little Chartroom. Had never been before and was not disappointed. For me the highlights were definitely the lamb saddle and the oysters. The oysters were so fresh, and almost creamy... could've eaten about 20 of them! The lamb was also perfectly cooked, and just delicious with a subtle blend of flavours that really allowed the lamb to shine - highly recommend! The venue itself was finished to a really high standard and gave a very sophisticated almost Scandinavian vibe. There wasn't too many other customers when we went and the staff were fantastic. Making sure we had everything we needed, being prompt cleaning up finished dishes. Will definitely be back!

Visited 2 nights during a stop over in Comrie before heading to Fort William. What can I say amazing food yet again. Both nights we tried a different dish and both nights we very pleased. Excellent food and flavours. Katy & Brian run and amazing restaurant.

Lovely stay here after New Year 2025, right in the heart of everything, shops, cruises, Lomond Shores. Nice atmosphere in the bar in the evenings, with holiday makers and locals coming in with their dogs. Lovely sign at the front welcoming dogs š
