My first time using Jonaki this evening, the food was out of this world (tikka masala, madras, onion bhajis, rice and naan) friendly and helpful staff over the phone. Even better when inside, the gentleman behind the counter was talking to the regular patrons and remembered something about all of them. Was a nice personal touch, can’t wait to use again

🥰What an amazing dish we had yesterday. You need to give 48hrs notice but delicious leg of lamb in authentic spices was fantastic, it also came with flavoursome spiced roast potatoes, garlic mushrooms, vegetable curry, rice, nan bread, Chana masala, lamb mince, & salad plenty for 4 people! 👍🏻

Sometimes veggie curries can get overlooked and are served up as an afterthought. Not in Saffron Lounge my friend! The best vegetarian dhansak going. Everything else I've tried has been fresh and tasty too. Nice friendly people, go and support them 👏

Never been to Southend before, which I found a strange and soulless town. Paradoxically, It's big but there is very little here apart from national retail and restaurant chains. Very few real ale pubs, Chinese and Indian restaurants, or gift shops. Moan over. On my first night went to Mawson's micro pub, so Ruchi's, which is on the other side of the road, was the obvious dining option. Had my usual Chicken vindaloo, fried rice, poppadom (no sauces), lager: bill £17. It was very nice, quite good value considering the Cobra bottle was huge, at least a pint, and at £5 was the most expensive item.
