Incredibly noisy huge restaurant. If you like creamy curries with little discernable spice then this is the place for you. Then add 12.5% service charge.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the country. If you are expecting vindaloos and kormas , just go to Alum Rock or Ladypool Road areas. What Opheem does is take Indian spices and flavours and elevate them to the next level. Stunning use of spices and beautiful dishes. The seafood dishes are superb. On arrival you are taken to the bar and are served stunning canapés. We had the 10 course lunch menu and honestly each dosh was a work of art. The scallops were huge and a real highlight. I could not fault any dish. My wife popped in as she had been shopping and they gave her complimentary dessert and she was so happy. No fast turn around on tables so you can spend 3/4/5 hours chilling and enjoying good wine and food. If i lived nearby I would go every week and eat soup the rest of the week to cover the cost

I can’t even explain how awful my experience was. Like someone else previously leaving a review, if I could give 0 I would. Let’s start with timings, it took 2 hours for my food to arrive despite ordering before 6pm on a Saturday. I’m vegetarian and my mixed veg curry basically consisted of peas and sauce - not to mention it was the blandest thing I’ve ever tried. The naan bread was about an inch thick and was too doughy. Would never order from here again.

I've been to Diwan several times recently and every time the food has been top notch, service fabulous, staff friendly, toilets immaculate, very reasonably priced and BYOB. 5 girls visited last night & all the curry's we had, mine being garlic balti king prawn and lamb pathia were delicious. Always accommodating and welcoming and really good value. Well done Diwan.

Great beer for a beer and a curry

It was one of the tastiest dishes we had in a while. Both Yasir and Arusha were excellent at providing us with advice and they also gave my husband a wonderful treat for his birthday with the yummy brownie dessert. We will definitely come back. Thank you!

Venimos aquí una vez al mes como un grupo de cuatro muchachos, para ponerse al día, unas cervezas y algo de buena comida. Siempre recibimos servicio con una sonrisa, algunas risas. . . . . . . . . . . y la última vez incluso tuvimos algunos brotes de cumpleaños / Navidad! 😂

We are new to Birmingham and this was a lovely surprise. Imran and the rest of the staff were attentive and engaging and took time to explain the menu and recommend dishes. Everything from the street food starters to the mains and puddings were first class. Can’t wait to come back
