The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

We've recently moved to the area, and we decided to try out a new Indian takeaway. Online ordering through the app was easy and straightforward. Text confirmation and eta when ready. The food itself was quite nice, my wife said her chicken rogan was tasty and the sag aloo was also nice and a good size. My lamb tikka passanda was OK, not a great deal of flavour, and the meat was a little tough! 😬 Even though it mentioned it on the app, no free poppadoms were provided. Would I order from them again, probably, but I will check out other options in the area.

First time visit to this lovely Indian restaurant and we weren't disappointed! Lovely decor ,friendly ,welcoming,attentitive and efficient staff. The menu offers unique and healthy Indian cuisine, competitively priced. We had poppadums and pickles to start with a complementary shot of mango lassi. I had an AMAZING and tasty Fish and prawn Rogan which came with veg pilau rice and a side of sag paneer...DELICIOUS! We were then treated to another complementary amuse bouche ..an Indian street food crispy rice ball with tamarind sauce . Yum! The wine which accompanied it all was a sauvignon blanc and then a pint grigio ..both were top quality. An enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. We will definitely do it again!

This restaurant is our go to Indian, however on this occasion it did not live up to its normal standards! I had a chicken korma and my wife had a chicken tikka damsak, however in both dishes the chicken was wayyyyy over cooked and tough. At least half was inedible. They also gave as the mixed meat starter (including prawns) instead of the mix veg starter. My wife is allergic to shellfish. Very disappointed.

We've had both lovely meals in the restaurant and take aways. The food is excellent, staff are great, kids were welcome and lovely atmosphere. Staff are on hand to offer recommendations and everything was spot on. Look forward to our next visit! Thank you to all the staff

Was given jeevan sweets as a gift. Very delicious. Happy to recommend jeevan. Purple box containing custom choice, in this case it was cashew with coconut sweets. Silver top.

Stopped here for a curry while in chipping Norton for a weekend. Food was delicious and service very good, would recommend

Everytime I ordered from currypot takeaway the food has been fresh and cooked well and is delicious the shop is clean as been in to collect order the staff is amazing very friendly and the owner of the takeaway is lovely respectful man and always is willing to help if need be and he's friendly easy to get on with its lovely takeaway at it's affordable prices food has always been delivered perfect and kept warm too I am happy customer thanks currypot for the lovely delicious food you make 😋

Great local Bangladeshi restaurant been around forever and never skimped on quality or service. Best locally been going here since 2018 and the owner is a real gentleman. Great food and highest quality ingredients with great service.

Asked for medium spice dish unknown to me I was pointed to an extremely hot one. Couldn't taste anything other than spice. My sister asked for medium got pointed to a sweet dish with no spice. Terrible service initial waiter was pushy and impaitent. The restaurant was not busy with at least three on the floor. First guy came back a said "wow! you ordered the hot one!" I thought you didn't want hot. I clearly communicated this but the young waiter that was sent to us clearly didn't know the menu correctly as he said it was medium. We were considering going to Burton for our meal. I wished I had. Never had our water filled whilst there. No care, consideration for the customer, very disappointing.

Really superb food. Best Indian meal in Essex. Very kind and caring staff. And surprisingly not too expensive... I even got my left overs boxed for lunch the next day! A lovely restaurant. Bob Gail Rob Kim Lee Kath

Absolutely shocking service. If I could give 0 I would. Ordered food, rang after 2 hours to ask where it was to be told it had been given to someone else but they hadn’t redone ours… then offered to send it again and it still hadn’t arrived after another hour. Rung to find out the driver was only just leaving with it with no apology and that he was taking other orders first!!! In total waiting 3.5 hours for a takeaway due to constantly being told it was on its way or we would have gone elsewhere. Ordered from here loads of times and have massively let themselves down by having zero care that they’ve wasted our whole evening and left us hungry. Won’t be ordering again.
