Second time ordering from here and definitely won’t be the last. Home delivery on both occasions was ahead of schedule; food piping hot and totally delicious. Tender, melt in the mouth lamb and chicken, plenty of meat in superb sauces. Pakora fresh and crisp (not last night’s reheats as often found). Staff at restaurant and delivery driver polite and efficient. Thank you 😊

We have bought various things from Jays in Montrose & have always had a good experience. However last night I ordered a chicken on the bone meal. When I cut the chicken & put it into my mouth I instantly got the taste of blood in my mouth. When I looked down on my plate the chicken was running blood. It was disgusting. Many years I ended up really ill with campylobacter after visiting a kfc in Aberdeen. I was in hospital for 16 days. My husband has just came back from Jay’s after taken the chicken back. The guy serving was apologetic but offered to replace the meal, no thank you very much. No refund was offered, but he said he would take the price off on the next time we ordered. Not good enough. Do they realise how sick you can get from campylobacter due to undercooked chicken. Hopefully I don’t get sick, but I will never eat chicken from there again .

Tried a biryani, it was pretty uninspiring. The kids had a pizza (pretty standard) and chicken nuggets and chips (which went down well). We also tried a hoggy/hoagy which we'd heard about as being a Central Scotland delicacy, although in effect it is a kebab with cheesy chips added in. Not saying that's a bad thing, but perhaps not as different as it first sounded!

They had bo latte said they had called me but I received no calls, when I called them they then delivered and gave me £2 to cover latte, food was then cold as they had prepared it at back of 5pm and was now 7pm. Called them again and another driver then came back to get food. Because I forgot £2 and told them I was angry and closed door the driver then proceeded to batter/ thump my Dads glass window on door almost breaking it,then told my Dad I was crazy mental and belonged in a hospital. Not acceptable. I did not swear threaten all I did was get loud and a bit angry at ruined dinner and I get abuse from them? Not good service.
