The best restaurants serving Italian food in County Durham North East

I have a chicken vindaloo every time I visit it an Indian restaurant and this was the worst I’ve had in a longtime. It was hard to eat the chicken as it was extremely chewy also there was very little sauce with the curry. This restaurant is very poor and does not live up to its reviews!

Both pizzas and garlic bread was swimming in grease and all 3 were burnt on the bottom. ordered a lot from you’s a while back but soon stopped as every pizza you’s sent out was burnt, changed location so I thought I’ll give it another go… only for it to be the exact same🙃wouldn’t recommend

Anazingly friendly staff; nothing too much trouble; generous, tasty starter of mushrooms; main courses of spaghetti bolognaise and chicken in cream sauce sublime. Chips crunchy. Great experience and will return. Thank you to all staff x

Our under 14’s Barnard Castle football team came here with parents etc for our Xmas night out. Food was pre ordered and was great, place was busy on a Thursday

WOWWWW!!! Normally my wife avoids tomatoes, we recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary, and this was the first time I actually saw her INHALE tomatoes...the Bruschetta was 10/10. We ordered a pasta dish and pizza to share between us, the room is full of chatter and you can totally see why...taste this, taste that...everyone was buzzing from the flavoursome food on show! We actually have a pet GOAT at home and they would be very happy with the food and the quality served!! Their hearts would bleat for us to bring some back home! Honestly, this is possibly some of the most amazing food we have ever tasted. Authentic Italian food, amazing staff and what a lovely, relaxing atmosphere!! Get down to here ASAP!!!

Absolutely love this place, great prices amazing food and fantastic atmosphere. Staff are all really polite, friendly and helpful, never been disappointed by a meal here yet. 3 course Sunday lunch is definitely a must try for anyone.

Mike and the team were really friendly and welcoming. The food was great - good portion size for decent prices. Special mention for the mushroom and asparagus risotto and the beef stroganoff. A great place for a family pre-Christmas get-together

Amazing as always! Gorgeous food at very reasonable prices which is why we return time after time. Staff are amazing! Very friendly & provide excellent service. Jonathon was particularly fantastic last night when we visited. He made sure that my 10 year old son celebrated his birthday! The brownie with candle & ‘shots’ of juice were lovely touches! Nice place and nice food however, it would be much better if the food plates were warm so that food is not cold by the time we were half way through it. If they removed the cold plates and replaced them with hot plates it would be much better. Otherwise fine.

Although my order from Uber Eats was very disappointing, I want to change my review to a positive one! I called up Zizzi this morning, and the manager on shift (I am so sorry I don’t remember her name) couldn’t apologise enough. She gave me a remake of the order, and a free dessert! The food from the remake was amazing. The issue was handled so professionally, and the manager was very kind. So thank you for rectifying this x

Thank you italian farmhouse managers and staff. What an outstanding service I have had. I hired italian farmhouse for my daughters birthday and from start to finish the service I received was amazing. I was unsure of what I wanted and kept swapping and changing my mind not once was I made to feel this was an issue,I just in the end decided I wanted something basic and simple like sausage rolls, wedges, sandwiches. I got this with the fun element for kids making their own pizza! They loved it and went down a treat! I have a niece who I didnt inform had a nut allergy ( my bad ) they were prepared to clean all surfaces allow us to check ingredients and make something for her but understandably said whilst they would do their best they couldn't guarantee so we declined and they allowed us to order in a pizza, this obviously is someones business but I feel to do this they want more than just money they want to give and make customers feel valued and welcome I was so impressed. Staff constantly checked everything was ok, constantly asked if anything else was needed they were prompt in bringing out food and keeping the area clean and tidy, nothing at all seemed to be a bother to them. I also had a courtesy call making sure all had went ok as I'd changed my mind that many times. Thank you so much italian farmhouse for an amazing memory for my little girl. We will most definitely be becoming regulars!
