The best restaurants serving Italian food in Sunderland North East

Fantastic meal with partner. Waitress and chef were very accommodating and honestly the best goats cheese pasta dish I’ve had. Partners peppercorn sauce and Diane sauce was a little unique, however the steak was cooked to perfection - so perhaps the sauce was just unique to tosca’s.

Enjoyed a meal this Evening with my wife, daughter & grandson, first time we’ve visited and was greatly impressed with the reception on arriving, the food & service excellent totally enjoyed the visit & will be returning in the future

We ordered a takeaway via JustEast and were honestly a little underwhelmed by it all. We went with the steak and chicken mixed kebab, which literally only had a couple of pieces of the meat we ordered and then was for some reason bulked out with doner kebab. The meat was okay, but not great and the side salad pretty limp and drenched in vinegar. We also had sides of chips and halloumi, which again were only okay. I think at £30 it was really overpriced for what we got, not sure I would be in a hurry to order from here in the future.

I ordered from these at 9.30pm as a late tea, they close at 23:00 apparently. 45 minutes later I get a message saying my order is canceled as they are closed. Absolutely useless. Thanks for the messing around.

Was there last night for a Birthday meal, place was more or less empty apart from us and still took an hour just to get our starters ! Was very uncomfortable as it was freezing in there 🥶 but was informed heating was on full, our elderly parents had to keep their coats on 👎. Only Morreti on draft so got a large bottle of Heineken which was £6.00 😲 Never again unfortunately, which is a shame as we like to support local businesses, but too slow, drinks extremely expensive and very cold inside 💠

Fantastic place. Lovely staff. Food was very authentic ... proper Italian .. I live in london in Crystal Palace with many restaurants on our doorstep. I wish they were here...

La decoración es inusual. Olor extraño cuando entramos. Podría hacer una buena limpieza. La comida estaba bien, no estaba seguro de que fuera pasta fresca, la salsa era un poco salada y había muy poco pollo. Las setas cremosas de ajo para empezar eran muy agradables. A mi compañero le dieron el plato equivocado, pero se lo comió de todos modos porque no podía molestarse en hacer un escándalo. No fue una experiencia terrible, pero no estoy seguro de que me apresure a regresar.

Great food and great for social meetings

Went to martinos seaburn with my family and the owners we obviously in walking around dressed like scruffs and pulling the staff aside every 2 minutes! Staff were doing a great job but the owners made us and other feel uncomfortable the way they were going on. Put us right off and will never be back. Food was spot on just owners thinking they are big time dressed like drug dealers

Having often driven past this restaurant we decided to give it a try. We booked a last minute table (20 minutes in advance) and turned up not knowing what to expect as we had never been before. It is cash only and parking is limited so bear this in mind before you go. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, the staff were really friendly and the food was fantastic! We all enjoyed 3 courses and a couple of drinks (alcoholic) and both were delicious. It worked out around £40 each for our meals and drinks which was excellent value. They even made a cocktail that was not on the menu for one of our group! Excellent food and service, we will definitely be back!

Came here for Christmas dinner and the food was outstanding. Lovely staff and great service. Money well spent. Will definitely be booking again next year.
