The best restaurants serving Italian food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

I wanted to indulge myself to some Sicilian delicacies before the festive season. I was absolutely flabbergasted by such scrumptious food. Their arancini were to die for and the deep fried lasagna is definitely an award winning dish. To top this amazing experience, the service was stop on. And must not go unmentioned: the style of shirt of the young bearded man behind the counter did not disappoint. Simply fabulous experience.

Good food and service, reasonable pricing.

Ordered and picked up 3 large pizzas for my family. Pizzas were excellent and fairly priced, good toppings and crusts etc. no complaints, was very good for the price.

Great food. Reasonable price. It wasn't overly crowded mid week, which was nice. Staff were helpful and polite.

Habíamos visitado Wildwood antes, así que fue una opción fácil para ir de nuevo. El restaurante estaba limpio y la bienvenida amable, ya que nos llevaron a una mesa a la llegada. Elegimos entrantes y bebidas que se trajeron rápidamente, el pan de ajo y cebolla caramelizada estaba sabroso y en una cantidad decente, el Calamari estaba bien cocinado y sabroso. Nos mudamos a la red, Pasta arabiatta - porción bien cocinada y decente llegó rápidamente y estaba muy bien condimentado. Mi hamburguesa estaba de nuevo sabrosa y muy bien cocinada. Decidimos tomar un par de postres de toffee pegajosos - para un postre tan simple, estaban muy bien preparados - de nuevo no puedo culpar al servicio o al gusto. Toda la comida fue agradable, y tengo que decir que el personal nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos - una buena experiencia.

It was lunch time and there were only 2 other people in. Having said that i really enjoyed my meal.

Good food and the service was friendly

Can’t fault the service and the stunning building but this is really average Italian food, beef ragu had hardly any beef in and was a small portion too I felt for the price. Pizzas looked bland compared to what you can get elsewhere in York where a bit more care goes into the dough and topping. Cappuccino was £6.00 which is really expensive and was in a very small cup.

My daughter and I popped in for lunch. We both agreed the Carbonara was the most delicious we had eaten! Although the staff were busy they were very attentive. We will definitely be returning 🩷

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Joe and his team! The pizzas were amazing! We had so many complements on how nice they were. Joe catered for all our guest with special dietary needs such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. We would 100% recommend you in the future to all our friends who plan to get married they really did go down a treat. Thanks again Joe.

My wife and myself went to our local restaurant on 13th March 2022 after many years of visits and found it as always beyond excellent! We started with a garlic bread pizza style; My wife had the chicken Cacciatoria which was brim full of the most tender chicken in a sauce that was to die for and with beautifully cooked vegetables. She was unable to finish her meal and at the Staff suggestion we had the remaining part of the dish boxed to take home. I ordered the 'normal' Chicken Kiev Calzone Pizza, it was huge!! the biggest I have ever had, and we have travelled a bit; the pastry casing was beautifully made and the filling heaven. I tried my best but could not eat it all...so again brought back home to eat tomorrow. The service was attentive and professional, and we noticed that they made special fuss of the children on the next table. The only sad, nay disastrous news, is that they are closing as the owner is subject to advancing years; they close after Easter this year...great sadness! we will miss it.

Claramente, el personal no ha recibido su familiarización por estar en Yorkshire - una bolsa de té en una olla de té no logra una “preparación” de Yorkshire! Aparte de eso... el café y el bollo estaban bien.

The food was OK but it cooled down very quickly because the restaurant was cold even with heaters on. The corridor to the toilets and the toilets themselves were very cold and dirty. This was very disappointing.

Awful service - try elsewhere We queued at the door for over 10 minutes - there were two female waitresses talking by the coffee machine and one poor guy trying to cover the tables. No one acknowledged us for over 10 minutes, when someone did come over it was to tell us they were full. It takes two seconds to great someone - even when busy and check if they have a reservation. Ive worked in hospitality for years and if this was my team, they would have a good talking to about customer service. Wouldnt try again.
