The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

I went here on a Saturday evening for dinner, it was a very quiet little pub but when my friend called in advanced they told us that we were not able to reserve tables although when we went into the pub there were tables that were reserved. They had also told us we weren’t able to bring dogs but we saw people outside with a dog as well as someone bringing their dog inside. This was a bit strange. Although the pizza here was very nice and I think it was reasonably priced although it was quite a thin pizza. Other than that I think this pub is a nice place if you want to go somewhere quiet and peaceful for dinner or drinks.

Desafortunadamente, no es el lugar para ir si solo quieres una comida tranquila con un amigo. Por alguna razón desconocida para mí, este restaurante atrae con frecuencia a los gritadores, personas que hacen tal ruido que no se puede escuchar lo que su amigo de enfrente está diciendo. Una vez, alguien conocido por el gerente entró, se sentó en el centro del restaurante y comenzó una conversación a gritos con el gerente justo en la parte de atrás, sobre todos los demás comensales. Para nada enconado - muy amistoso - pero pensó que nadie más cenaba allí importaba. En otra ocasión, estaba bastante tranquilo y mi amigo y yo estábamos hablando sobre nuestra comida cuando cuatro hombres muy ruidosos entraron y se sentaron a la mesa a nuestro lado. Todos sacaron sus teléfonos móviles e iniciaron una conversación excepcionalmente alta y agitada entre ellos y los hombres al otro lado del teléfono. Se lo dije al gerente y se ofreció a movernos a otra mesa cercana, pero es un restaurante pequeño y no habría hecho ninguna diferencia. Ante esto, los hombres se pusieron agresivos y comenzaron a gritarnos explosivos. Creo que eran del sur de Europa, no británicos. En esta etapa nos levantamos y nos fuimos. El gerente es un hombre muy agradable, pero no podemos esperar que controle el comportamiento de sus clientes, eso no sería bueno para los negocios. Así que finalmente decidimos que con los problemas constantes de los clientes ruidosos, este lugar simplemente ya no era para nosotros. Es extraño que haya muchos restaurantes que no tengan este problema, donde los comensales se porten relativamente bien - se portan bien - y conozco un montón de estos. Así que ahora vamos a estos y los que gritan pueden disfrutar de Amaretto y todos estamos felices.

Gorgeous seafood for starters, followed by very delicious pastas for main course. The wine selection was also excellent. The meal ended with a perfect tiramisu. Great service throughout.

Music was to loud, food took ages to arrive and when arrived it was cold. A male Member of always insulting other people. I will not recommend this to anyone.

We booked for the steak evening and we were not disappointed. A hidden gem of a place and definitely worth a visit. The food was faultless and the steak cooked to perfection. The dessert was stunning too. The staff attentive and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We stayed in the hotel which was beautiful and eat in the restaurant, a group of 7 of us and were presently surprised. The food was beautifully presented and really tasty, full of flavours! The staff were great, very attentive and the service both in the evening and at breakfast was exceptional.

We discovered the Artisan Corner about a year ago as we were passing through Barnard Castle on the way from Darlington to Southport to visit my parents. We originally chose this cafes it was lose to where we had parked, but we very quickly realised that we had landed on our feet. The food, most of which is home made o site, is amazing and the people there are friendly and welcoming. On our previous visit I had a coronation prawn baked potato and this time, a lamb kofta flatbread. Both were absolutely amazing. My partner usually chooses the ploughman's lunch- which is also excellent. After the man course, (or if you just want a snack) there is a wide selection of home made cakes. Last time we chose a vegan, gluten free chocolate and pistachio cake. I had my doubts about the gluten free, as in my experience gluten free cakes can be dry- but this was so good that we bought the remaining supply to take back for my parents to try! This time we went for warm tarte tartin with ice cream. Another favourite is the French Blue Earl Grey tea with lavender and rose petals. Every meal we have had here has been outstanding, and the shop downstairs also stocks some amazing food and crafts, including stunning flower earrings made by Hannah in the shop. All in all, I really cannot recommend this place highly enough. We always stop here now on the way to Southport- or if we happen to be in Barnard Castle.

Good mains of pasta and pizza but booked a table for 8pm then had to wait until 8.30pm to be seated. Once the food was ordered it came quickly but we then waited from 10pm when Olour plates were cleared until.10.45 pm to be asked if our food was OK or if we wanted desserts but we never were never asked so we got.up and walked to the bar - only then did staff notice us and then asked us to pay the bill - not.experienced such poor customer service in a long time didn't seem to care about the customer experience at all, which is such a shame as the food was good but won't visit this restaurant again as a result of the poor service we received.

Avoid. Solo suelo dejar comentarios cuando tengo una experiencia muy positiva. Pero este lugar es una trampa. Fui con mi pareja en julio de 2024 en una rara noche que ambos podríamos tener una noche de fin de semana libre del trabajo. Nos dijeron que habría una mesa para nosotros en 30 - 45 minutos, y acordamos que íbamos a dar un paseo mientras esperábamos. Un servidor luego nos persiguió por una cuadra por la acera para decir que podíamos sentarnos en el bar mientras esperábamos. Por lo tanto, nosotros (dos hombres tomados de la mano, claramente un par) tomamos asiento, pero nunca conseguimos una mesa en una hora y media de espera, mientras que un número de parejas heterosexuales, tanto reservas y caminar - ins, todos recibieron servicio de mesa. Y tenemos que escuchar conversaciones de los camareros sobre ellos siendo una pareja, preguntas sobre su noche de citas, ofrendas de elementos de menú y maridaje compartibles, etc. Nunca nos dieron la mesa que habíamos acordado esperar. Mientras tanto, tuvimos cócteles caros que eran en su mayoría agua, cena del menú principal (no un menú de bar, lo comprobamos... y también el bar es de solo dos asientos) que está en porciones diminutas. (Tengo 4 o 5 pequeños corazones de alcachofa fritos hasta la muerte con un poco de cohete como una entrada de más de £ 10) , y pasta muy cocida. Me encanta un menú de calidad, degustación de nicho, pero esto no era todo. Y la estimación de precios está muy lejos. Gastamos 70 libras, sin alcohol, en tres platos pequeños y dos cócteles. Comimos tan poco ( y los dos tenemos pequeños apetitos ) que tuve que cocinar una cena completa después cuando llegamos a casa. Y un hombre muy temible simplemente sentado, mirando, y ocasionalmente discutiendo con el frente de la casa. ¿Tal vez un gerente o dueño? Todo el tiempo, no estaba claro a quién pedir para obtener otro plato o para obtener el cheque. No hubo cuidado de tratar de servirnos nuestras cenas al mismo tiempo, a pesar de que lo solicitamos. Esperé más de 20 minutos entre que mi compañero cenara y yo cenara. El camarero y los servidores eran muy amables... me hubiera encantado verlos en otro restaurante con comida decente y mejor gestión. TLDR; No vayas si quieres buena comida y un servicio no intolerante.

Este es un lugar excelente. La comida es preciosa y llega rápido. La focaccia con balsámico es muy buena. La pasta era absolutamente encantador. Y Tabitha, nuestra camarera era extremadamente amable, muy atractivo, y dio grandes recomendaciones. Muy agradable y muy buena relación calidad-precio

Always exceptionally friendly service, good coffee and interesting food choices. We went for breakfast the other day and I had the 'Spanish style eggs' which were exceptional. Go to Olea and order the Spanish style eggs! You won't regret it.

The BEST meal of 2023 we’ve had. Honestly just such comforting and delicious food. Friendly service and just homey interior, we are making this such a regular spot!!!! The price is unreal, couldn’t believe it when we got the bill would have happily paid double and not batted an eyelid!! MUST VISIT!!
