The best restaurants serving Japanese food in City of London, Westminster London

This is a real gem. We have visited there three times this year and never been disappointed. The food is always hot, fresh and a good portion size. Everything is perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff are very friendly and take- always seem to be their main customer base. They only have a few tables, but we have always managed to get a spot. Looking forward to our next visit.

Delicious food and lovely service. We were with another couple and we all four had an amazing night. The sushi is wonderful, the aubergine is the best!

I was extremely disappointed with the quality of food I received. For a place with a 4.7-star rating at the time of writing, I expected something at least decent—but it was far from that. I ordered the salmon maki and salmon avocado sushi rolls, both of which were completely flavorless and left me with an upset stomach. Even the soy sauce provided was the worst I’ve ever tasted. I also tried the vegetable stir fry, which was equally bad. The sauce was unpleasant, and the vegetables were utterly bland. The only way this meal could have been worse is if the food had been expired—which I sincerely hope it wasn’t. If you enjoy bland, cafeteria-style food, you might tolerate this place. But if you’re looking for any semblance of flavor, I doubt you’ll find it here.

This is absolutely the best restaurant in London. Food is excellent every single time we eat here, portions are generous and service is great. Reservations are recommended as this restaurant is always busy.

I had been here a few years ago and loved this place, but unfortunately it seems it’s permanently closed? Their website is still live (July 2024), we tried to reserve by filling in a form on their site but got no response. Went their without reservation during stated opening hours. Not only was the restaurant closed but the signage had been removed from the exterior of the building.

Servicio increíble y deliciosa comida! Tuvimos la cena Set for Success para dos para que pudiéramos probar un poco de todo y nada decepcionado. Nuestros servidores y el gerente también eran atentos y muy bien informados. El sake también fue tops. Justo para dos personas. Muy recomendable!

Order omakase (and butterfish)!

Visitó el lugar de ramen Ippudo cerca de Embankment para comer algo. Qué decepción. Pedí el ramen clásico Shiromaru. El PEOR ramen que he probado. Sabor suave, cerdo gomoso, caldo insípido y el huevo tenía una textura extraña y granulada. Y por 18 libras, una estafa. Las gyozas crujientes estaban quemadas/duras y venían con una mayonesa salada y grumosa, que no iba en absoluto. El tazón de arroz de pollo era demasiado caro y soso. 50 para un tazón pequeño de lechuga integral, arroz empapado y pollo seco. No malgastes tu dinero, llegó a £ 40 y tal estafa. Comida de mala calidad. Hemos visitado Ippudo Central Saint Giles y la diferencia de calidad fue de día y de noche. He visitado un montón de auténticos lugares de cocina japonesa a mitad de precio, con comida abundante y deliciosa, no este lugar! Un fideo de olla sabe mejor que aquí.

We came here for the 11 course omakase sushi, having booked with a Virgin Experience voucher. We were really impressed by the food, very tasty and worth the experience. The atmosphere was calm and service was excellent from everyone, especially to sushi chefs Masaii and Jhun.

Went here in May 2024 with my boyfriend for our anniversary and wow. It was absolutely amazing. The interior was so cool, staff were extremely friendly and helped with recommending things for us, and the food and drinks were UNREAL. My favorite was the dragon roll, it was the best I’ve ever had in my life and I can’t stop thinking about it. Every single food and drink we ordered just blew me away and I can’t wait to come back here. Staff, food, vibes 100/10

The waiter spilled drinks on my friend’s coat ruining it completely, after emailing the restaurant they simply stopped replying and accused us of lying as they couldn’t ‘prove’ that this was the case.. Ignorant management

*This review is specifically for the NYE 2024 experience* We wanted a nice dinner with a great view of the London fireworks, so we decided to give 8 at the Londoner a try. They offer two types of reservations, the curated experience and the al la carte option. Both options will cost you 400 £ per person. Their signature cocktails were good but not amazing for the prices. The al la carte menu is slightly different from the curated but has a great selection of food. The lobster tempura was nice and fluffy and tasted great. The different tacos, such as the shrimp and Wagyu, were all excellent. Service was a bit slow, but it was a full house. We did ask to have our phones charged, which our waiter said wasn't a problem. An hour later, I go to get our phones, and they have less battery than when we gave them to him. They never plugged them in. The aerver staff, however, were all quite friendly and helpful in explanations, so forth. The view was amazing for us (see picture and video). If that is the view you are looking for and want to enjoy fine dining, then this may be a place for you.
