Great decor, amazing staff - very human and dog friendly. Wines and beers - good selection. Food at lunch was good with generous portions. Coffee and cakes were also good. Great place🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

First time here and we will be back soon. Excellent food and great value. All the staff were polite and helpful. We have visited many restaurants and cafes for a breakfast but this was the best quality and value for money. Our next visit will be for lunch.

Now 5 stars due to new owners and great food

It's been 6 months or so since I worked in March long enough to get a pint. Still the best bar in town by a long shot.

Yet again another fantastic Christmas lunch. This is our 3rd Christmas lunch here. The staff are fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Always made to feel welcome. The food as always was outstanding. Look forward to next year. Oh and our week day lunches in between our Christmas visits.

Just been had a carvery,and I'm not going again,I have been a few times.All I can say was it was not hot,just warm,like it had been warmed through it was dry,even gravy did not warm it through.like I said it cost me £40 and I am not going again. Very poor food.

We were recommended this pub by our Guest house. We were not disappointed. Although from the outside it doesn't look much it is very friendly and the food was excellent. We had steak and kidney pudding each on the first night and it was so good we went back on the second night for rump steak and lasagne for the two of us. The local beer was wonderful too and at very reasonable prices. It is a very popular pub well patronised and I can quite see why. You can't judge a book by it's cover.

Must write and thank the Station Restaurant for putting on an excellent buffet for our Wake. Quality and quantity plus great staff service helped make the days planning go very well We couldn’t have ask for a better venue and refreshments Highly recommended Thanks to all The Knight Family

Excelente elección de cerveza bien guardada a un precio decente! Jaipur £ 4 por pinta, por ejemplo. Buena elección de comida que era de excelente calidad y a un precio muy razonable. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar, aunque a pocos pasos del aparcamiento en la estación de autobuses!

Had a lovely stay at the straw bear pub on festival weekend. The room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Plenty of parking and very good value for money. The pub is a lovely little place serving a lovely full English for a very reasonable price. Cheaper and nicer than spoons! Can’t believe the price for a round! Unbelievably cheap! Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough to help you. We will definitely be back again.

The service is so slow and unfriendly, loads of staff which is great but all standing around doing nothing which is frustrating 15 min wait for coffee and not busy and 20 min wait for sandwich grghhh. Fantastic location could do it so much better
