Just simply the best cafe, anywhere!

Friendly staff. No table service. Spraying tables whilst eating. Food was VERY good! Floors were dirty throughout. Really Did NOT like the amount of dogs inside when serving food. Staff were fussing over dogs then entering kitchen/bar which is NOT hygienic. They should at least have a separate area for dogs instead of letting them everywhere. Not sure I would go again tbh.

Breakfast was very greasy, sausage and mushrooms were over cooked and could tell they were fried, beans were watery and had no flavour, been coming for breakfast for years and this is the first time I had to say something negative.

Visited today for lunch, overpriced and poor quality even the tomato ketchup is cheap version. Was asked when went to pay how it was, when I gave the feedback quietly the manager was extremely rude and loud and tried to justify everything. This is probably the worst customer experience I have come across and if she continues that way, they deserve to have no customers and be closed down. Greasy tables and greasy menus also, not sure when it last had a decent clean.

Have visited this pub few times for drinks so thought we would try the sunday roast,, nice warm welcome lovely real fire blazing away and staff member was friendly happy and energetic. They forgot to put our food order through so had to wait a bit longer than should have, sadly the food was not worth the wait at all☹️☹️ it was only luke warm and the quality was so poor, the veg was awful like it was pre frozen then over cooked, the beef was so thin like it was out of a packet, tuff n so over cooked, the Yorkshire pudding was nice and home made very small portions no water offered and not asked if we wanted more drinks, i suggest the owner and chef go to the HERD in Bedford for a sunday lunch then see if they think theirs is anywhere near the same,,, Poor would not have food here again..

What an amazing experience as our meals were delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. Prices were also very good. I had the Curry Parsnip Soup, Braised short rib ❤️ Panna Cotta followed by an Espresso Martini... all faultless We'll definitely be back and thank you

Strong local vibe, was very busy but still got served very quick. Staff were lovely even though it was busy. Prices are very good and portions are generous!

We called in to ask if they were serving food. The landlady said they were new, only taking over in May, and the previous landlord had taken the kitchen with him when he left! So no food at the moment until a new kitchen is fitted. We stayed for a drink. The landlady was very pleasant and obviously frustrated with the situation. I wish her well.

Really disappointed with our visit to this cafe. We ordered sourdough toasted sandwiches, which were pre packed. A tiny amount of filling for the price. Not very tasty. For what it cost we could have gone to nuts bistro and got a hot meal for not much more money. Won’t revisit.

Decent cafe with a Portuguese theme. I had a nice coffee chips and a bacon sandwich. Very friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere.
