I have frequented this establishment many times over the years, but it seems to be experiencing a noticeable decline in quality. The Black Forest smoothie, once a highlight, lacked its characteristic flavour profile—there was no trace of sweet cherry, the creaminess from the nut butter was absent, and the consistency was poor, with an unripe banana aftertaste that was unpleasant. The rest of the food was unremarkable, falling far short of its former standard. Also, While it is understandable that new staff require time to adjust, the frequency of errors I observed was disconcerting. Additionally, the practice of holding completed items until the entire order is ready detracts from the experience, as delays compromise the quality of time-sensitive items like smoothies, which arrived cool not cold. Usually this wouldn’t be a problem I guess but waiting for >40 minutes doesn’t help. It’s disappointing to see a place that was once so reliable for one of the best smoothies nationally can slip up so hard.

We came here on a very wet and windy Monday! The welcome from Jo and Richard was warm and friendly. And the food was brilliant: hot and tasty. The policy is to source as much as possible locally and this made the food even more special. In fact brunch was so good we returned later in the day for more coffee, hot chocolate, indulgent chocolate and orange cake and healthy home made granola with delicious fruit, local honey and yogourt. Wish we lived nearer to Southend, but will certainly eat at attic next time we are in The area. Good luck to Jo and Richard - we wish them every success.

We stopped here for lunch today - two cheese toasties, tea and coffee. Everything was excellent - well cooked, delicious toasties,.decent coffee and nice tea. My only complaint was that the staff had tea in mugs rather than cups and I would have liked a mug too! The food, drink, service and value for money were all great. We have walked past many times but won't make that mistake again!

I attended the wreath making workshop with friends today and it was brilliant. There was everything we needed to make the wreaths to our own designs, bottomless mulled wine and some festive nibbles. I definitely want to go back to sample some of their other foods and wines. Great customer service and fantastic value for money. Can’t recommend these guys highly enough.

If you want a couple drinks with a small group, west road tap is perfect. It's small but has a great selection of beers and very friendly staff

The place is absolutely amazing! The food was prepared quickly and it tasted great; would definitely recommend this place if you're ever hungry in the area. As to the service, the best I ever had. The owner is really kind and helpful, and I was able to have a great conversation with him; and I hope more people can come here and appreciate this restaurant so it can get the recognition and business it deserves! Will definitely be coming back here if I come back to Southend!

Visited for brunch; due to the eye watering prices only had coffee and left. Decor is quirky and ambience is nice but seriously, it’s cheaper to eat brunch at The Ivy. I fail to see how £16.50 can be justified for a chicken/avo wrap unless it’s actually garnished with gold leaf and mermaid’s tears. Coffee was decent, but found good food nearby at half the price.

This is honestly the best restaurant we've been to in years! The food was delicious with very generous serving of gravy and beans for a more than reasonable price! Our server (a lady with dyed hair and possibly in her 20s) was super kind and went beyond her job giving us other vegan recommendations and was so lovely to talk to. Only wish we lived close so we could visit here more often! Wouldn't mind if the prices were higher as it is so good!

Lovely little tea room, the food is nice, the staff are LOVELY! They couldn’t have done more to accommodate us, including my 11 month old baby girl and the pram. They turned the music down whilst she was asleep so’s not to disturb her and when she did wake up, one of the lovely ladies got a basket of toys out and sat and played with my little girl. Customer service like that blows me away!

We've been coming here for years so already know how good the food is and how friendly the staff are. I just wanted to mention how particularly good the food was today, especially the chili which was the best I've ever had.. Love this place

I have been to stop the world before and had a good experience however I was disappointed with my experience today, me and my partner came in for brunch it was busy but no busier than usual, I ordered a smoothie which I was disappointed with as it was warm when I got it so not very enjoyable and then we waited an hour for our food to come, which I just think is way too long especially for breakfast and we only ordered scrambled egg on toast and avacado on toast, didn’t get an apology for our wait or anything really so didn’t have the best experience

Been meaning to try Olivers on the Beach for quite sometime. Finally managed it today and am so glad we did. What a lovely place with really friendly and efficient staff. The choice of food was incredible and everything we chose was lovely. Served piping hot and plentiful. Deserts were delicious too. We will definitely be back again soon.

We went to listen to a band there and on this particular evening it wasn't very busy probably because of the weather, but the band were very good and I could see an improvement from the last time that I'd been to the pub which was some time ago. Felt a lot cleaner and more friendly.
