Great reviews for previous owners the afternoon tea here was delightful been many times . please note this is not the same place now as previous reviews from 2023… went for afternoon tea and it was disappointing to say the least. Hardly any sandwiches but tasteless hardly any filling, pale scones, cakes seemed possible shop bought..very overpriced and waste of money and not very cozy was cold - owner very pleasant but would not return again

Brilliant little find, extremely friendly staff and brilliant quality of product. Would definitely recommend for locals and people visiting Durham

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff were nice but dissapointed paying 5 pounds for a tiramasu that was dry and tasted like the cream had gone off

This was fabulous. My pancake stack was superb - the pancakes are light and fluffy and extremely delicious. The full English was equally as good. Add in the friendly service and warm “everyone’s welcome” vibe and you have the perfect Friday breakfast experience

The food here was very good. I really love the pistachio latte, simply one of the best. 6 stars mostly for nostalgic reason. But the vibe was very good. The setting was very nice and comfortable. The waiter and waitress were attentive. Good location too.

We ordered for delivery and it took two hours to arrive, while we acknowledge the place has no control over the delivery itself it also took about an hour for the food to be ready. When it got here it was stone cold, half of our food was mushy and inedible, and we basically had to re-cook what was edible. If we had been in store it probably would have been lovely, but they do need to work on the delivery set up and what actually works for delivery

Was working outside for a week and the place looked very welcoming, but having read how the owner responds to their reviews on here I decided not to waste "£14" on a breakfast. Sorry

Great coffee but the busy cafe was noisy and hard to hear a quiet conversation which means unfortunately we were probably talking loudly and disturbing others also.

Like many other reviews state, the service here is extremely slow. I waited over half an hour for my order to be taken, and another half an hour for the two basic lattes to arrive. The food and drink is good when it arrives, but on one occasion I found a hair in my food. Many occasions we have been turned away due to no tables being open, but we've had a good experience with getting takeaway coffees. We will only return if we have a lot of time, unfortunately.

Lovely cocktail bar with plenty of drinks to choose from. The staff were very friendly and the guy singing live was very good.

As said below, there's an incredibly rude male barista (no hair) - who really needs to sort himself out. Friendly customer service in exchange for money seems to be too much of an ask. Go elsewhere.

We visited this morning for coffee, cake and ice cream with the family. Gorgeous place, excellent food and very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Lots of measures in place re Covid - felt very clean and safe.
