Love it here. Amazing service as always. The coffee shop is part of the Huegh Battery Museum so all for charity. Hugh Battery Museum is spectacular. A great piece of Hartlepool history. Great bacon butties. Great coffee, great cakes. My dog loves it here. Especially the doggie sausage. She can try the ice cream in the summer. Only moved here late last year. This was an amazing find. Park nearby. Walk the headland then have coffee and cake. Or if early enough a bacon butties for a late breakfast. Just a shame closes December to February but will be a regular visitor at the weekends.

A very clean and friendly cafe serving breakfasts, lunches, and snacks, all at competitive prices. The food is very good, fresh, and cooked to order. A great cafe hidden in plain site on the corner of York Road and Lucan Street.

This is an excellent bar situated on the Marina, serving meals, snacks, and drinks. The staff are friendly and very efficient and welcoming. The drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) are reasonably priced and good value for money. The menu is limited, but offers a good choice of meals and sandwiches and snacks freshly prepared and all at competitive prices. A great place to visit at any time of day, you will not be disappointed.

Nice hotel- ghastly breakfast with limited choices and coffee that is simply water kicked to oblivion and not stocked up despite lots of hurried walking about, nothing gets done!! If you have any allergies then forget it as the “staff” look blankly at you as they simply don’t stock it even something as simple as low fat spread - it’s either full fat butter or full fat butter and don’t dare ask for an alternative. We all know the old saying that you can’t shine a Pooh!

Booked a table for a Christmas party (local residents association ) weeks in advance and were in contact with them only the same day on the morning to confirm numbers and time. Upon arrival we had no table. it was taken by others, when we mentioned this we were told “ to have some Christmas spirit and let the imposters have the table) . After some waiting standing about with our drinks, we were found another table very long and narrow which basically split our group into two as one end couldn’t converse clearly with the other. The table hadn’t been cleaned from a previous spillage and there were sticky glass ring marks present at one setting. Not a good start to our Christmas meal together, we did however try to put this behind us and make the most of what was to come, The food was mediocre at best ,(missing the pigs n blankets) and one served rather tepid. It’s a pity but we live and learn. I must add a little in their defence, one of the meals was ordered without the pigs in blankets but just that one. The night was also extremely busy. although shouldn’t have really posed a problem for professional staff. Would we go again …not for a meal.
