We visited The Suburbs after we had eaten at kingdoms restaurant ( The Yard) . The cocktails, ambience and staff were fabulous. This is the best cocktail bar in Chester without a doubt. Thanks to the staff ( Hannah, Viv, Tom, Olivia and Roman) who made our night one to remember.

The rooms look huge on the photos ( used wide angle lens to take the photos) superior is not as it’s stated. Rooms are tiny, walls are incredibly thin. We could hear next doors tv and snoring all night. Room was also very cold. Food breakfast was ok maybe more variety if you didn’t want a full English then options were cereal or hot sandwich. I would not pay £16 for a bacon sandwich. Staff were very friendly and helpful and location is good

Located in a lovely suburb of Chester. Greeted by a friendly waitress where we were seated in a quiet corner. Short bistro menu with a good variety of options. Decent wine selection at reasonable prices. Open kitchen with engaging colleagues. We started with the Crab fishcake and goats cheese salad. The cheese was on a sweet crumbly base. The crab cake had a red fish sauce garnished with chilli oil. Perfect starters. For mains, we both had Seabream with poached mussels in a tarragon sauce. We added carrots and chips. The fish was exceptional, filleted, and delicious. For wine, we chose a French Shiraz, red is always our preference even with fish. Great atmosphere with nice background music and very comfortable seating. Overall, we would rate this restaurant one of the best in Chester fair price for the quality of food and service. Thank you for such a lovely evening.

Called in at The Bridge Cafe Bistro on a busy Sunday morning in Chester. Lucky to get a table as the Cafe was very busy. I could only see 3 members of staff, 2 were cooking and a young man taking orders. There seemed to be no order with how customers orders were taken and after 15 minutes I had to get the attention of the young man to remind him that our table hadn’t ordered. It was still another 10 minutes until our order was taken by a young lady who had just arrived for work. The food and drinks eventually arrived, plenty on the plate of the full English breakfast. It was mid tier quality produce which was tasty enough and very filling. It’s a busy place and tables were filled as soon as they were vacated. Just need more staff from early doors so that customers aren’t waiting too long. I am still recommending The Bridge Cafe Bistro.

Sad to say we will not be returning after many years of custom at the Goshawk. Cold inside pub. Dirty wine glasses. Food okay. My autistic brother has a limited amount of foods he can eat and was made to feel embarrassed when his food came with salad (which was not mentioned on the menu). We asked a member of staff for a new meal for him, to which she said yes. Then, a member of management came over, speaking extremely loudly so that everybody could hear- leaving us feel like the aim was to humiliate him out of speaking up. The problem was not resolved as my brother was very upset and shut down. The manager offered VERY loudly to ‘take the salad off the burger’ which would not have resolved the issue as he cannot eat the salad at all. My brother was visibly not okay when the manager came over and could barely speak yet was still treated in such an insensitive and dismissive way. He was left without a meal suitable for him to eat in the end :( This is so disappointing and left us all with a very sour taste in our mouths on Christmas Eve. I hope that no one else experiences this!

Don't know about the food as I didn't eat, but popped in for a drink, it was a locals pub, a nice atmosphere and friendly.
