Although we are not local we were visiting the area and decided to have lunch having pre-booked, recommended at busy times of the year. As a first time visitor we found the premises welcoming and staff all very pleasant. Even though it was very busy the service was just at the right pace. Our starters were peppered mushrooms & vegetable gyoza's - both were very enjoyable. As mains we had braised Ox liver (my wife said the best she had ever had!) and Penang Vegetable Curry - a not too hot Thai-style curry. The menu said rice and nan although the side dish looked more like a chapati than nan but was still very enjoyable. The guest beer I had ordered ran out just at the wrong time (for me) but that aside everything was superb. There was also a festive menu but we decided to go with the standard menu. With it being busy we were only allocated the table from 12.15pm to 13.40pm which was fine for two courses but would have been too short with a desert and coffee. Definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

I was put off going here because of concerns over cleanliness/decor but a recent visit with friends converted me and so I paid a return visit today. As before, the beetroot soup was gorgeous as were the fried pierogi (we choses cheese n potato to share) that we added for dippage purposes. There's a great choice of teas too (I had chai oolong). Quite a few people seem to be enjoying the Polish stew for lunch whilst we were there. I still feel that it needs a good makeover but once you get over that you'll be pleased you came for something other than the usual cafe fare of Preston (which they also serve!).

Bernadette & I called in for a "Light Lunch" after we had been performing on Preston Flag Market" Our first visit to The Larder. We were made very welcome - the food was marvellous - far outweighing our expectations. The place has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Well done I can honestly say - never, in my 68 years, have I had a baked potato, served to me, that looked so appetising.

Situated on a junction controlled by traffic lights made it difficult to enter the small and compact car park. Having eventually parked the car I was please that I’d stopped here. Inside, the premises have been tastefully designed and converted from what was probably a Bank. It has is a small room where you can sit which has a large safe/vault door. The rest of the premises have a variety of tables and chairs spread around the room. There is also outdoor seating with canopies covering them. Our coffees were very good along with some Biscotti biscuits. It was nice to relax on a Sunday afternoon reading a newspaper whilst it poured with rain outside.

I visit here regularly when in Preston city centre. Best cafe for affordable meals and drinks. The staff are friendly. I would recommend.

Went mid week it was amazing tried it again on a Saturday early evening and half the order was missing it was cold and when I rang to explain staff were rude and said they couldn’t do anything because it was ordered thru Deliveroo and that I had to contact them absolutely a joke when you order two burger meals with shake and comes up to £35 it’s a lot of money you could go out and eat for that
