Some decent ales but far too expensive. The layout isn't very attractive. Pity as I do like to visit real ale bars.

## Review of The Horseshoe Inn I recently visited The Horseshoe Inn on a Sunday at 2 PM, and my experience was unfortunately disappointing from start to finish. While the staff, particularly the bar staff, were friendly and welcoming, that was about the only positive aspect of our visit. After placing our order, we waited approximately 20 minutes for our food to arrive, which seemed reasonable. However, upon receiving our meals, I couldn’t help but notice how cold the plates were—almost as if they'd just come out of the freezer. This immediately raised concerns about the temperature of the food itself, and I was eager to dig in, but we had yet to receive our cutlery. When I asked for it, the waitress assured me she would bring some right away, but it took over five minutes. By this point, I knew the food was cooling off far too quickly due to those freezing cold plates. When the cutlery finally arrived, I was ready to enjoy my meal. I had ordered the steak and ale pie with chips. The pie was disappointingly small and appeared quite dry. The chips looked promising at first but turned out to be half-cooked, while the vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Overall, the meal was a letdown—cold food on cold plates made for a very unsatisfactory dining experience. I mentioned my concerns to the waitress about the cold plates, and she acknowledged that they did not have a hot plate, stating they had requested one from head office. While I understand that this is a logistical issue, I believe it’s the chef's responsibility to consider the temperature of the plates when serving hot food. Surely, warming the plates in an oven or microwave could have been a simple solution. It was clear that I wasn’t the only dissatisfied customer, as everyone’s plates appeared just as cold. For a meal that cost over £100, I expected much better quality and service. Sadly, I won’t be returning to The Horseshoe Inn. This experience left much to be desired, and I would advise others to think twice before dining here.

Had another amazing meal here. Definitely recommend the steak and ale pie, with a jug of proper gravy. Service was fantastic as usual.

Nice place to stop for lunch or breakfast

Had a lovely beef dinner,food was presented well and tasted delicious.Dani our waitresses was wonderful and very pleasant.Jake came out to see us and checked everything was OK. Definitely would eat here again.Highly recommended

I ordered an afternoon tea from Plumcake today and it was the best I have ever had. Kath had made fresh tarts and scones that morning and they were amazing. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The attention to detail was so special.

Chiverton tap never disappoints. It welcomes everybody. Great selection of cask ale. Good atmosphere. Almost always something good yet different on the bar. Staff generally superb. Exclusively British fayre; no foreign muck. Only complaints would be that it can be too “dog friendly” & the bar can feel like a post office counter at times due to the wooden uprights.

First Class service from a great team who served us all with a smile and a welcome Reserved a table as it gets so busy We ordered 3 different meals off the extensive menu Full English Breakfast with poached eggs was just delicious Eggs Royale was first class Chorizo and Halloumi wrap with chill jam was yummy and enjoyed We all recommend a visit to this establishment and will visit again to try their display of top notch fresh pastries and homemade cakes Take a visit You will enjoy

Really nice food just a shame it takes so long. Make sure you don’t get sat by toilet or you’ll be forgotten about, other than that though the food and friendly staff do make the wait for food worth the visit.

A hidden gem in the heart of Stockport. Small restaurant run by a lovely Italian couple. The italian food that they serve is absolutely divine.

Purchased two breakfast sandwiches which for what we ordered I thought was a reasonable price, these are the worst sandwiches I have ever purchased in my life they had no flavour what so ever, cheap products everything tasted the same on both buttys. Extremely disappointed. Will not be revisiting EVER
