The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Chichester South East

We've had several meals here recently, lunch and dinner, and since last leaving a review. Most recently lunch on New Year's Eve. All have been very good. The menu is quite extensive and is well balanced for options, both starters and mains. The mains include being able to choose beef, pork or lamb at the butchers and have it cooked for you; an unusual option. The menu is available on-line, with prices. For starters the rillettes/pates and the cheese souffle are very good. The venison haunch steak is a firm favourite as is the so called bouillabaisse. I say "so called" as, according to the Michelin Guide Vert (and others), a true bouilabaisse must always include rascasse; having had many in the south of France I agree. Rascasse is the Provencal scorpion fish, with it's unique flavour; unfortunately almost impossible to buy in the UK. Conger eel and particularly lots of saffron are also very important. All that said, the fish stew is an excellent dish; perhaps it should be called "Cheats Bouillabaisse" as in the 'Hamlyn Super Soups' recipe book!! For your consideration. We have yet to try a breakfast but they sound appetising! New Year's Eve was very busy with the large restaurant virtually full. However the service was prompt, efficient and friendly as there were sufficient serving staff. Two starters, two mains with sides, one dessert, coffees and soft drinks £90; service not included but an option on the card machine. The toilets are spacious, modern, well equipped and clean - excellent. The one critcism, made before, is that this is a very noisy restaurant; a pity. Lots of hard surfaces like a canteen. it would b good to get an accoustic engineer to recommend readily available noise mitigation needs. That would make for a more relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Please take this issue seriously! The Food Standards Agency Hygiene Rating is very important to us following a food poisoning incident elsewhere several years ago; but we remain sensitive to the risk. I can't find their rating on the FSA website; a staff member said that it is a 5, the top score. If so, that is excellent. Also, strangely, they do not put the usual decal on the door; why not adverise this achievement? Please consider. The Grazing Rooms has come close to being our "go-to" restaurant!!

Love the Woodmancote, home cooked food,nice and fresh.as we went for New years day lunch, I had the salmon and prawn salad, perfect after over indulgence over Christmas 🎄

He estado aquí como un habitual desde hace varios años y siempre he recibido una cálida bienvenida del personal de guardia, además de la comida es increíble. Sin embargo, las dos últimas veces que he visitado he encontrado al chico sirviendo inaccesible, grosero y con el aspecto de que realmente no quiere estar allí. La primera vez le di el beneficio de la duda, pero su mala actitud frente al cliente continuó en mi próxima visita. Esto está muy lejos del servicio amable al que he estado acostumbrado, lo que es una pena. Esperemos que cuando visite disfrutará de la gran comida y el personal amable que suele estar de servicio. Excellent local village shop and outside cafe type seating area, for tea and snacks etc. Good car park.

Popped in for post New Year meal with friends and received a really warm welcome from April and Jacob. The meals were great and represented good value for money - suffice to say we will definitely be returning!

Staff are really friendly and attentive. The poached eggs are amazing. Never had a bad meal but can get super busy and loud.

Whilst we can not fault the warmth and friendliness of the staff, the food was very disappointing. We went here after reading the reviews for a special birthday celebration. The starter of scallops was mainly green salad with 3 very small hard to find scallops. The roast beef came with 3 hard to eat roast potatoes, green beans and broccoli with stems and ends still attached, the smallest Yorkshire pudding I have ever seen and a very wet cauliflower cheese. For the price of £45 per head for the roast and £17 for the scallop starter, this is not what I expect and we will not be returning or recommending friends and family. So disappointed 😡.

Lovely atmosphere. Lovely food, great fish and chips and chicken and ham pie. Dog friendly. Service was great. We will be back!

Lovely little place however we ordered 2 lattes and think we ended up with just hot milk.... Couldn't taste any coffee at all. Very disappointing. Hopefully it was just a mistake and not usual to serve coffeeless coffee.

Comfortable environment, polite service and extremely fast. Delicious food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Very disappointing! Definitely will not return ! Visited for lunch with my wife and two children . My meal arrived as my wife and children were finishing so I sat and watched them eat ! Then to top it off after asking for no slaw due to an allergy there was a big helping of it on my plate touching the chicken and some chips also making it inedible! Not a nice experience when you stop with your family on Saturday for a well earned lunch after a hard week at work! I requested a full refund but was refused and was only given a refund for my own meal . The food isn’t cheap and was definitely a bad experience.

Spot on breakfast, super friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend for breakfast. Nice coffee to boot. Simple dining at its best
