A really excellent meal at a friendly, homely pub with welcoming staff and a splendid menu and excellent fare. Welcomed on arrival and settled at table and served promptly by friendly staff. The place was understandably busy (word must have got around!). We had some unusual mains from a wide and interesting 'todays specialities' menu - venison liver and bacon with mashed potatoes and a lovely sauce, and fillet of skate wing with a prawn sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed by both of us! Thoroughly to be recommended. We shall be going again! We also enjoyed the company of the friendly and well-behaved spaniel who seems part of the household in thiis family-run pub.

Walking the Ridgeway, tired and looking for a coffee and cake this cafe looked good. Coffee and cake were indeed good but the reception and attitude of the lady manager was terrible. We were told off for coming in and sitting down (there is no sign that says please wait), we were then told off for ordering at the counter ( we thought we had to). In general we were made to feel like a nuisance as she stomped around and crashed the plates and glasses together as she cleared tables. It really did not make a relaxing or pleasant time. Ate our cake and drank our coffee quickly and left! The young staff on the other hand were very pleasant and helpful. Perhaps one of them should become the manager!

Lovely setting right near the river Panini was delicious and the staff were friendly The food took a while but it was worth it Definitely recommend stopping here

¡Este hermoso pub familiar es una pequeña joya! Es acogedor y acogedor y celebramos la recepción fúnebre de mi padre -en-ley en el precioso conservatorio, que era perfecto para 30 personas. Very nice menu, and tasty, but the portions are incredibly small. You don’t even get a whole muffin just half (on eggs Benedict ) More of a treat place than a regular occurrence, purely due to cost. Coffee is lovely.

Consistently good. Freshly cooked light meals, decent coffee and friendly service. Bike parking in the garden too. A great alternative to Riverside nearby

Reservado como parecía una opción segura para el almuerzo del domingo. No esperaba lo que encontramos. Un gran aparcamiento con un montón de espacio. Una decoración cómoda que era cálido y acogedor. Muy amable bienvenida y el personal era excelente en todo momento. Encantadora cena asada, tuvimos pavo (uno tenía carne de res) con enorme pudín Yorkshire, patatas asadas y verduras bien preparadas. Una de nosotras tenía la hamburguesa y era un poco rosa para su gusto. No había ningún problema y uno fresco fue cocinado en lugar de bunged en el microondas. El crumble de manzana y las natillas de vainilla se dieron un capricho. Esperaba una experiencia promedio, pero obtuvo mucho más. No dudaría en volver. Gracias.

Passing by with my wife on our way to get Christmas Tree (which was also excellent quality). Staff were delighted that I was the first customer to try their seasonal Christmas Sandwich; very tasty and reasonably priced - and all supporting a good cause.

Perfect little friendly shop , I actually thought oh I’m really hungry I wonder if thier is breakfast is any good , well what a nice surprise that was , bang on with that 9 out of ten for that one , clean, cooked perfect , presentation spot on , if I had one very slight niggle and it is slight , sausages aret all that , I normally go to buddies cafe by the station in henley and thier bangers are the best I’ve ever had , and I know the get theirs from A&b butchers in Maidenhead , they are catering butchers wholesalers , or it would be 10 out of 10 , just a tip for you , and thank you for the great service and fair price for a top notch breakfast

So disappointed with my last few sandwiches, hardly any filling Anymore just eating bread!!! Will not be returning

Great little cafe with relaxed and warm atmosphere in the seating area. Many of the barristers are able to make coffee well above usual English standards and closer to Australian quality which is refreshing and rare. Staff are friendly and attentive. Nice menu selection.
