Cafe serving delicious fresh cooked food, excellent friendly service and lovely atmosphere with a log burger fire. Plenty of choice for hot drinks, breakfast and snacks.

Walked in around 12.30 with my husband on a Saturday afternoon, stood by the counter where 3 member's of staff were supposedly working, we waited for what seemed like ages, but in reality around 3 to 4 minutes, not one of those 3 member's of staff made eye contact or acknowledged us in any way. Both my husband and I felt very awkward so we promptly left. What on earth is wrong with these people? All it takes is a smile and a quick we will be right with you, but not to even welcome your guests/customers is so rude and certainly not hospitable. So I would like to say to all 3 of those ladies, you really need to revaluate, and seriously consider if a job in hospitality is the right job for you, if the answer is yes then please get yourself some training quickly!!!

Such a lovely cafe, we followed the river walk from Lyme Regis to Uplyme & although the last section was a bit steep, it was well worth it!! We had a really warm welcome & a great lunch. I even ordered the chutney they’d served us online when I got home!! Really made our day special - highly recommend (very dog friendly too).

Pretty good place! Interesting range of dishes and some good veggie sides, with the ash potatoes snd padron peppers especially nice. My group (we visited last month) ordered entirely vegetarian food and, even with a relatively small menu, we enjoyed the variety of flavours on offer. It was a little pricey but ultimately the food was good quality and the intimate atmosphere and decor made the night feel special. Didn't drink myself but according to others in my group, the wine and sangria was apparently excellent! I would def recommend if you want something a bit different and don't mind paying a bit more than usual for it.

Recommended by the Bedford Hotel where we always stay when visiting Regency Sidmouth for "the best Devonshire cream tea." Quality jam and cream is presented in proper dishes, not prepacked in hideous plastic containers. A generous supply although we have had better scones but still worth a visit. "A destination in itself."🇬🇧🇳🇿

Tucked away in the lovely village of Beckington, Mes Amis looks appealing and welcoming, and this continues inside. The walls are lined with wine and products perfect to accompany the deli offering. We were welcomed with a warm friendly smile and an offer to explain the cakes and food available. Everything looked and sounded so tempting and delicious. A couple of sweet treats were ordered with two coffees (“nice strong black americano for me, please”). Being busy, our order arrived in good time considering Mes Amis was busy. The food was presented beautifully and was appealing, but my coffee was a pale brown in colour. The cinnamon bun did not taste fresh and we would have been surprised if it was baked that day, and my coffee was weak and lacked flavour or aroma. The staff were lovely, but there was no service check to bring any of this to their attention. The food looks amazing. The deli and cafe are beautiful too, but we were just left disappointed.

We went for Sunday lunch, and had to book as the pub is very busy. The wife and I had the full Sunday roast beef meal, with a dessert. The food was extremely good, generous portions of the meat and the vegetables and gravy, all of which were washed down with a good pint of beer for me, and large glass of Merlot for my wife. Everything on my plate was delicious and well cooked. Even the vegetables were really good, the taste of each standing out from the others - which is a lot more than you can say for many pub Sunday Lunches. We had a crème brûlée and a cherry waffle for desserts and they were spot-on. The food was good value for money. The service was warm and friendly, and occasionally a little slow, but the pub was packed so I can accept that the staff were run off their feet. The pub and restaurant area where we ate was well appointed, clean and tidy.

Me and my two friends came across this lovely cafe whilst staying nearby in marazion, we are glad we tried it today as they are now shut for a few weeks. The lady was lovely and the cakes were really nice. The cauliflower cheese pies were amazing! I would definitely recommend!

This was our second trip to The Chart Room for afternoon tea. Our first visit was two years previously and I am delighted to say that standards are as high as ever. I booked afternoon tea for 1.30pm and when we arrived it has just been put out ready for us. As it was one of those days between Christmas and New Year there was still a festive feel to our table. We had crackers and a lovely card from the staff offering season's greetings. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and took our drinks order as soon as we were settled. Options include tea, coffee, hot chocolate, prosecco or champagne and in the winter, mulled wine. As a special festive treat we were offered a free tot of rum. If you have not visited before, it really is a great experience, The tables have maritime memorabilia from some of the great ocean liners under glass. Lots of mementoes are on the walls and every surface. A visit to the loo is accompanied by the soundtrack of a lifeboat drill from a cruise ship! No children under 12 are allowed, which may seem harsh but is understandable given the amount of collectables on every surface. Brixham is also a town where there are lots of other family dining options for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. As for the food itself, there were dainty cobs of ham and mustard, sandwiches of egg mayonnaise, beef, and cream cheese and cucumber. There were also two types of handmade savoury tarts. A garnish of grapes, lovely fresh, sliced baby tomatoes, rocket and a touch of salad dressing completed the plate. On the middle plate there were two scones, plentiful supplies of jam and cream, large, sweet fresh strawberries and two chocolate, coconut truffles. On the final plate were two pieces of homemade coffee cake, two mince pies. We could not quite finish it all. It's the most memorable afternoon tea I have ever had and I thoroughly recommend it.
