Así que es la primera vez que nuestra familia ha comido en el día de Navidad y decidió reservar la taberna de crosspool. Al entrar nos recibieron y nos mostraron a la mesa número 6, que estaba muy bien establecido como lo hacemos en casa cada año. Nos sirvieron bebidas y no se apresuraron y nos hicieron muy bienvenidos. El entrante era un agradable cóctel de gambas con un ligero filete de salmón , muy agradable y sabroso justo el tamaño de porción adecuado Luego fuimos por nuestro carvery que tenía 4 carnes para elegir (beef&turkey ) y posiblemente cada verdura allí es una muy buena amplia elección. He visto algunos informes negativos y levantar una ceja porque nuestra familia de 8 en nuestra opinión pensó que era excepcionalmente bueno de toda la comida al personal muy trabajador que renuncia a su Navidad para que podamos disfrutar de la nuestra. Escuchamos algunos gemidos esperando una cena fija, pero después de todo esto es un pub carvery, así que ¿qué espera la gente? Así que gracias taberna crosspool y el personal por todo el trabajo duro en el día de Navidad y espero que la generosa propina que dejamos fue compartida en consecuencia. Definitivamente consideraremos volver el próximo año.

Awesome place. Open fires, NO JUKEBOX, lovely atmosphere and some great people. Don't bring your laptop or use your mobile phone in here as it's a 'Digital Detox'. Conversation with total strangers is not only allowed here, it is encouraged! It is a great place to get away from the hustle-bustle, relax, and enjoy some quality time. Highly recommended!

Good for a quick coffee perfect if you love people watching with wrap around wi down seating .

Disgusting. Took an order from me. Took the money. Received no communication whatsoever. It was only when I had to create an account that I could see the order had been cancelled. No communication. No emails. Nothing. I am STILL waiting to get my money back. You have been warned.

Wasn’t happy with the service at the bar asked what to tonic was available as I I couldn’t see which one I wanted she said can’t you see we only have regular tonic ? Very rude !

Visitamos a principios de este mes y nos encontramos con el personal de espera hosco tanto en la caja como los que esperan. La persona que sacó nuestra comida tenía diferentes órdenes en una bandeja, y la tiró en la mesa antes de separarla y entregarla a otros. Era un método cuanto menos curioso, pero ni una palabra. Tuvimos que enviar un artículo de vuelta, ya que no se calentó a través, volvió todavía frío, que sonaba con el servicio al cliente o la falta de la misma que lo acompañó. Afortunadamente, la visita al museo en sí fue excelente y regresará, pero evitará el café.

Early bar on a foul winters evening with four of us determined to eat as soon as possible. we arrived around six pm and the pub was quiet but felt comfortably inviting. The lady serving behind the bar could not have been more helpful explaining the menu and serving our drinks. The menu is pretty straight forward with a surprising range on offer at really reasonable prices. Our order was placed and our food arrived pretty quickly and I have to say we were all really impressed. I suppose theres a low expectation of “its a pub, what can you expect”, but actually the food was really nice. Its a big old pub for a local, and we were only there to eat really, but it felt like the kind of pub that you would always be welcome at and the kind of place that wouldn’t mid if you sat and nursed a coffee for an hour or took a group of mates for a session. Its not an area that I visit often, but if Im back in that neck of the woods then Ill be sure to call at The Ball.

visited again after a gap of few years, arrived 1:40pm on friday and they are stopped serving lunch on 2:30pm. The prices of meals are in reasonable and are lower than the other peak district pubs. still no free wifi A lovely place for food and drinks, good view and good food
