We thoroughly enjoyed a 6 course game and wine evening event at The Chequers last month. So decided to celebrate a friend's birthday by having the tasting menu and accompanying wines at lunchtime. Wow, what a great experience it was! We chose the 8 course option and each course was an absolute delight. The thoughtfulness that went into the creation of each dish was evident. Some brilliant and inventive flavour combinations, with each course beautifully presented. This really is cooking of the highest order. The accompanying wines were matched perfectly. The service was excellent and friendly, with an explanation of each course and wine. It would be hard to find a better way to celebrate a birthday than in this superb place. Congratulations to the front of house staff and those creating masterpieces in the kitchen. You should all be so pleased and proud of what you deliver, which is an outstanding dining experience.
