We had booked a table for 6.00pm prior to attending a concert in Ripon Cathedral. We arrived bang on time. After more than 10 minutes sitting at a table that we were indicated to use in an offhand manner, we had neither been given a menu or the opportunity to order a drink, let alone be served one. The restaurant was busy, but the front of house gentleman appeared to be in a little world of his own. We simply got up and left, our leaving was not noticed. We went to The Royal Oak, also busy, where the food was decent and the service superb.

Superb food, hot, plentiful and very flavoursome. Great value lunch deal, £19.95 for 2 course from the al la carte menu. Lovely, spacious, well thought out surroundings. Highly recommend.

Had brunch with my sister and the food was delicious. Great menu with options for everyone. My sister had her dog with her and we were made to feel very welcome. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend a visit. We will certainly be visiting again next time we are in Harrogate

Victoria was such a gem I wasn’t too leased with my dessert and she helped me out immediately, what a kind and gentle soul.

Came for Sunday Lunch and firstly put in the tightest of corners behind a family already eating and had to disturb them during their meal. We then both ordered the beef and the portion size was poor for the meat only one slice each and tried to fill half the plate with cabbage, the roast potatoes weren’t fully cooked and beef was far too chewy, finally when asking for the bill they just forgot about us and we waited another 20 minutes then just went to the bar and paid no apologies either. The two main things the food and service were just not good enough sadly and does not represent the prices they charge.

Nice little bar and cafe with a good choice of drinks but limited food choices. Pretty sure the food is reheated from frozen - fine if you can't be bothered to cook for yourself but nothing special. Staff were friendly.

Lovely place to wander around. Reception and bar staff very attentive. Sadly our meal was very ordinary. Entree and dessert were quite good. Steak was awful - not cooked as requested (got medium and medium rare rather than rare) and it was great and unappetising. Our waiter irritatingly kept visiting our table to see how we were going.

16 of us stayed 3 nights, dinner, bed and breakfast. Amazing hotel, food in abundance and exceptional both dinner and breakfast. Staff couldn’t do enough. Highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful area too.

Had both a gluten free lager and a gluten free pilsner on tap. With a gluten free pale ale can in the fridge.

We were treated to an exemplary meal here. I'm really non plussed by the recent poor reviews. The restaurant is attractive and comfortable. The service was efficient and friendly, and the food was of a standard which was first class. We opted for the Chateau Briand which was perfectly cooked and presented. Delicious,!

Been here twice in last 2 weeks after 2 years of avoiding Nord as then the coffee, service & food so poor. A complete turnaround with new ownership now. Excellent fresh sandwiches- great coffee & tea. It’s good value for money. Staff are friendly & welcoming. Will be regular cafe for us.

Booked and pre ordered as large group. Welcome was nice. Venue good lovely with all the chistmas decorations. All food came swiftly and everyone enjoyed it. The only downside was having to order drinks at the bar and take all to the table yourself. Thank you to all ..
