What an amazing find, they make all their own food including proper sourdough bakery goods and kombucha, perfect if you're trying to increase your microbiome or following ZOE. And, of course, all their food is delicious and it was the best coffee I've had in Ayr.

A fabulous Christmas meal, with efficient and friendly service. Just what we've come to expect from the Salt and Barrel. It never disappoints. Well done everybody.

Was really disappointed with our night in Smiths. Firstly, It irritated me at how limited the menu was, but as in previous visits, although the menu was limited, the food was always delicious. Not this time....We had the black pudding starter with turkey wrapped around it, while the black pudding was delicious, you could tell the turkey was the xmas leftovers. It was tough and chewy around the edges. The main was ok... just ok, but the portions were very small. I counted 2 carrots, and the smallest brussel sprout you've ever seen in your life. The best part was the dessert, it was nice and tasted good, but again on the small side. We had a voucher that was given as a present but the total came to £81. I thought it very expensive paying that amount of money to leave a restaurant still hungry. I'm afraid that will be my last ever time in Smiths, I returned in the hope that the menu had changed, and that there would be more of a selection on offer. But I'm giving up the ghost, I won't return.

Had an afternoon tea here just a week ago now. As I'm not a fan of an afternoon tea, I was prepared to make the best of it as my partner really likes to do this. I was delighted as we left to say I really enjoyed my experience. We had a fabulous young waitress ( sorry I can't recall her name ) , who made us feel very welcome and at each and every request we made accomplished them for us. The venue is stunning, even at a time they have major works going on. The only thing I would criticise, was the background music, truelly awful, so much so she said that it was like funeral music. We both laughed, but a little later it was becoming quite annoying. There's no place for disco music of course, but depressing elevator music didn't work for us. Everything else was excellent and our waitress was brilliant

We booked a table for 3 we didn’t expect it to be so busy however that did not impact on our service nor the amazing quality off our food. It was wonderful the staff are so helpful and friendly the atmosphere is lively and friendly. The perfect girls night out with friends.

We love to pop into the Lamlash Bay hotel for dinner! The whole team is always so accommodating, it's never any issue booking a table for when we want and the new kids menu is a winner! The make your own pizza option always wins with our little one (and us adults too) and when we visited last week our lovely waitress who's name I've yet to catch (blonde) caught onto my little ones name and was calling her by name for the rest of the night. We love the chef's specials menu and it's always so evident that the menu really focuses on keeping dishes as local as possible. The Arran Gold and Raspberry Crème Brûlée is amazing!

Went for lunch at The View mid afternoon on a friday. Very quiet but it was 3pm. We were feeling a bit scruffy after a long walk on the beach but were made welcome. Food was very fresh, simple but of high quality and delicious. Prices very reasonable. Recommend.

We've been to this place a few times and it's always been a pleasure. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. There's lots of thoughtful little touches explaining the history of Craufurdland. This time, we only had cake and coffee. The toffee loaf was delicious and the cappucino is always good. My husband enjoyed his cake and coffe too. The Laird's table also has a dog friendy area, which is great as you can pop in for a spot to eat after walking your dog in the surrounding countryside.

Firstly the restaurant is lovely and bright and well laid out. They menu has plenty on it and the lunch menu is a good deal. However that is where the good stops. We waited at the sign to be seated, staff were talking at the bar and after 10 minutes we just had to go up and ask to be seated. The menu is pricey and the bread that came with the prawn cocktail was stale. The buttermilk chicken that came with the salad was rock hard and not that warm. We ordered 2 sets of drinks and both times had to ask where they were. Finally, it's February and the doors were wide open so the place was freezing. There seemed to be plenty of staff but they are just lacking attentiveness and given the price I would expect better.
