IM 52 AND THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER EATEN OUT OF. I WOULDN'T EVEN CALL IT A RESTAURANT THE FOOD IS GHASTLY. FOOD COMES OUT ALMOST COLD. THE SCAMPI WAS INCREDIBLY BAD THE WORST IV EVER EATEN. WHEN YOU BIT INTO IT WAS AND EXPLOSION OF WATER AND COOKING OIL IN YOUR MOUTH IT WAS HORRENDOUS. HOW ANY ONE CAN CALL THEMSELVES A CHEF SERVING THAT GARBAGE I WILL NEVER KNOW. EVERYONE ELSE AT THE TABLE THOUGHT THERE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING. I GIVE IT A 0 OUT OF 10 AND TRUST ME IM BEING GENEROUS. WONT BE BACK NEAR IT.

Fish was awful, more batter than fish, and it was very rubbery. The chips were just ok.

My friend and I were visiting a local art exhibition and called in on spec. We were lucky to get a table as most people seemed to have bookings. Very good service and tasty food. Very close to the seafront for a walk afterwards.

Seafood chowder was cold, but server rectified this. Main course of multiple types of fish was poor, overly complicated. Less is more. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff.

Solo light lunch with no booking, they fitted me in no drama. Prompt and friendly service. 3 oysters with different dressing - excellent to stunning. Followed by the goan curry prawns with wheaten bread, absolutely superb. Lovely house wine too and great company chatting to old Jim dining solo next to me.

Several gluten free options. All the chips are automatically gluten free and there's gluten free vinegar!

I had the gluten free fish and chips last April and had to bring my family back when they came to visit. Every dish was delicious again- I had the fish, my mother had a smash burger, and my dad had the silver side beef. All three were cooked to perfection, flavorful, and interesting. Great service as well. A favorite in Newcastle. 💛

Stopped at John Long’s Fish and Chips on route to catch the airport bus from Grand Central Station - am so pleased we did. We had a fish and chip supper - the fish fillet was thick and flaky and the batter was light and crisp. Highly recommend.
