Quick dive in around lunch for a couple of drinks and food. Went with the toasted baguettes, they were brilliant and chips top rate too. Very well priced and super friendly staff - thanks Karen!

FAB PLACE TO LAND FOR A CHEEKY LUNCH!

While the food and staff are very good, I was not very happy with sticky tables, and worse still, the wet floor and the stench of wee in the gents toilets.....this is the second time I have visited in the last 6 weeks, and there was no change! I can only assume they do not regularly check the toilets, which I thought would be a basic rrequirement, in an establishment like this. I do hope they take note of this and take remedial action to correct. I will be checking again shortly, and will be adding photos if necessary.

Nice menu, nice atmosphere, some staff were friendly but others not so much. We were told food would be 40 minutes but was over an hour.

Ian, Karen and ll of the staff make each visit a pleasure. Whether we just call in as a couple for a drink or come in as a large family group for meals we are always made welcome. This a great team working in a local pub.

I live in Cornwall and this was my second visit. I had a great time meeting my cousins who live in the area. Great service and will definitely return for a drink next time I'm up north.

Honestly it isn't the cusine that attracts me. I'm a fan of visiting the Boundary Stone as it's the 1st public house I ever entered & purchased my 1st alcoholic beverage. I like going there to watch football also especially if not possible from home.

Nipped in for lunch with husband. Placed a food and drink order with a lady called Karen. What can I say, wish more establishments had staff like her. So professional and friendly, credit to the company. I am a very fussy eater and no request was too much. She made sure everything was perfect. Will definitely pop in again when in the area and recommend to others.

Been a customer of this pub over 20 years. I don’t go in regularly, I’d say once every couple of months however last night made me question if I’ll ever return. What a disgrace. It was filthy. Dirty sticky tables, the bar area was dirty full of spilt drinks and sticky residue. The whole place just felt grubby. Didn’t see one member of staff clean a table between change of customers. It wasn’t even that busy. Lots of empty tables. We cleaned our own sticky table using a wet wipe in my bag and I wish I hadn’t because looking at how dirty the wipe was after it made me regret ordering food. The ladies toilet …..yuk! That’s all I’m saying. It’s quite obvious staff are not checking the bathrooms because what greeted us in there was not nice. This pub doesn’t need fancy gimmicks, it doesn’t need a rebrand as it’s always got a good customer turnover. It is a pub serving good basic pub grub at a good price. It’s always been nice to visit for a quick pub lunch after a day at work that doesn’t break the bank. It does however need basic hygiene routines implementing.

Atmosphere was made by the delightful bar staff. I think today’s troublesome duo were Charlie & Emily. Although we were given no condiments with our meal the staff were very careful to cater for our Daughter who has food allergies and carefully explained the options on the menu! Food arrived swiftly and well prepared! We will be back!

It is always a great atmosphere in this pub, there is a variety of seating areas depending on what vibe you are in for. We came to watch the match and were served quickly and the staff were very friendly.

I came in today and was greated at the bar by lucy with a big beaming smile and a wave, not to be out done Charlie was already pouring me my usual and cracking jokes with me. The staff here are truly what keeps me coming back

I had not been in the Boundary Stone in years and after having lunch with my Aunt for our birthdays in March, which we really enjoyed, we decided to visit again. Food is really nice and the staff very friendly. Thank you and we will visit again soon.

Watched the England match last night, great atmosphere. All the Bar staff worked hard and helped make it a great night. So thanks to Karen, Lucy, charlie, Tom and Jack. I'm sure I saw Ian the landlord smile as well haha

It was Fathers day. We booked a table, which was reserved. Time to look at the menu. My son is blind so it's difficult for him to read the menus, unless they are online where he can go through them fairly easy, as long as they are set out properly. Failing that he has an app that can take a photo and translate. Both of these methods require him to be online. Unfortunately, we had Vodafone, Three and O2 between us but the local mobile internet was non existent inside the pub. This is not their fault, so we looked for Wi-Fi and there was a free service. We went through the motions of logging on but the error message said "not connected to the internet". So we had to read all the menu to him manually. He decided on a mixed grill, so did I. I went to order the food but unfortunately there was only one mixed grill. It's fathers day remember... So we had to quickly choose something different. The food was okay, the gammon and steak were very fatty, but that was probably because it was the last of the meat. There were hardly any mushrooms, and they were no bigger than 1p pieces. The peppercorn sauce was in a tiny pot, and we all agreed the fries, not "chips", were hard. So I can only be kind and say average. Wonder how long the Wi-Fi has been down at this place.

He was, however, very deep in conversation with his mate whilst serving us. We were treated to the story of how he’d been on a mad one in Bolton the night before. The poor lad only managed 30mins sleep before his shift and sadly had no money left because he was ‘buying drinks for hanging girls’. Very classy. Second pint - the young lady who served us for the next round was incredibly miserable. At least the anti-feminist lad who sorted our first round was polite and made an effort. This kid looked pretty unhappy in her work. If you don’t have people skills / don’t want to interact with people then don’t work behind a bar. I felt like throwing myself in the canal after the second trip to the bar so we made tracks soon afterwards. On a plus note the beer is pretty cheap, it was about £5 for a San Miguel, and they had the football on in the conservatory bit at the back. It was ok for a quick couple of pints…but between Chris Benoit Jnr. begging for his tick, the misogynistic but polite barman and little miss sunshine I probably wouldn’t go with my family to eat there.

Had a lovely family catch up in the garden room. 10/10 service from the welcoming and lovely Jean and a great chatty and friendly meet with Karen when clearing the table. Would recommend and can't wait to come back!

The staff were very friendly, the food was good for the price as I have paid more and the quality was not up to the standard of your food. The selection of drinks were great also, I came in with my family and each had a different drink. I was altogether satisfied with my experience

From the outside the place would not be somewhere I would automatically go in to, but looks can be deceiving. My daughter and I went as I was taking her out for a treat for lunch; a girly time just us two. Our table was booked and waiting for us. We sat down and chose our food, afters included. I went to the bar and ordered. After about 30 minutes the mains arrived. Both were very good, except mine had french fries and my daughters had chips; should have been the other way round. We sorted that out ourselves. We finished our mains and our desserts were brought out; jam cake and custard for me and banoffee tart and ice cream for my daughter. She took one small bite of Banoffee tart and realised the base contained nuts. She checked the menu and nowhere did it mention that it may contain nuts. The Stone Boundary needs to update its menu to put signs on items containing known allergens which I thought they had to. Too late when someone died from Anaphylaxis.

We went for a family meal for my husbands 65th birthday. Service was excellent. 3 of us in the party had surf and turf. The steak was very nice and tender. My grandson who is had a cowburger which he loved. We all had sweets as well which were also delicious. Than you for a very enjoyable meal.

Staff were very helpfull & had reserved us a table without steps as I had requested. Sraff very friendly, food good, wide choice on the menu. Only downside was no decaff coffee.

Four adults and three children were seated at a spacious table which was ideal for our needs. We qualified for the kids eat for a £1 which was a great offer. Great menu choices. The food was delicious and tasty , however we waited for an hour which wasn’t a problem for the adults but was a long time for the children ( we had some bananas and biscuits to entertain during the wait so it wasn’t a huge problem. Also there were no crayons for the kids to colour in their menus ( again one of us had brought some so it was resolved) just small points to note that would make a huge difference. Overall though a lovely afternoon, delicious pub grub and efficient and friendly staff, we will definitely return ( and a friend who has lived nearby for 4 years has never been and commented that she would definitely be back with her partner and daughter) so you have gained customers 👏🏼👏🏼

I visit the Boundary Stone most weeks. I am always entirely happy with the food and all of the staff are always friendly and helpful. However, having frequented the Boundary Stone for several years I have to say the pub is in need of internal improvement. The decor is tired, majority of tables are sticky to the touch, even after cleaning which puts me off taking friends and family who visit me to the pub. The external decor is also very tired and isn't in keeping with the area the pub is in. I would strongly request the brewery invest in the pub and raise the standards of decor inside and out and please please please please get rid of the sticky tables.

Booked a table for our 65 wedding anniversary gave us a lovely table with a very pleasant young lady serving us. Surroundings very pleasant meal excellent lovely day.

Delays to food delivery is very poor. You need more staff in the kitchen or stop offering silly discounts.

Love going to the boundary stone The team are all absolutely amazing and friendly. They will always have a chat as they are serving even when they're really busy. There is always footy on the screens and plenty of regulars in the bar area meaning the atmosphere is great

Great food at great value. we ordered 5 x Medium Rare steaks. All were perfect. service was great. Good selection of drinks. 5 excellent meals. (table was sticky even after cleaning - change of cleaning product maybe?)

We was greeted as we walked in by Andy and our booked table and our request for a quiet area was met. It was lovely and warm which was welcoming as it was freezing out Our meal came within 15 minutes of ordering and my steak was cooked to perfection Lovely service Definitely a great little place to come for some hearty English food Thanks 🙏🏼
