Lovely location, nice pub, polite staff but very very poor food. Chips like wood, definitely been in and out of the heat a few times and the fish was dripping in brown oil, had the squirts written all over it. I’m not one to complain, usually. I didn’t expect anything too special from a cheap midweek meal.. edible would’ve been alright. Both myself and my mother’s food had to go back and we refused a replacement due to time waited and not wanting to risk it. My daughter was happy to eat her meal and she didn’t want hers to go back.. she had bellyache all that evening 🤦🏻‍♂️

Had something to eat here, seemed they were short staffed ( loads of glasses built up at end of bar ) asked for my steak too be cooked medium came well done, waitress said she'd bring me a pint to the table, gave her a tenner and said get your own and never came back with the change. I was a little disappointed on this visit but have been in there on a number of occasions and have always liked it. Must have been one of them days. Normally a good place.

Food was a bit dry, salad was wrinkled and stuck to the plate 😬, the veggies were undercooked and portion sizes were smaller compared to the last visit. Not sure why the food quality had changed as on our previous visit the food was tasty and we were impressed. We shall go again but it'll be after 6pm time, as that's all I can remember as the difference in the food change. The location, bar staff and pub are amazing.

Just wanted to say a massive THANKYOU! The staff were amazing especially when I was booking as we took my elderly grandad and they listened to everything we needed🥰 The food was delicious! We will definitely be back.

We have not been in for a while but we were really pleasantly surprised at the food but most of all the service from our lovely waitress Amy. Her customer service was amazing and she always had a lovely smile on her face!! We will definitely be back!

Sarah was excellent, from greeting us she made us feel very welcome, food was good, service was excellent. The place was quiet but it was a Tuesday evening.

Had a lovely time at the moorings on Sunday the food was delicious. Amy was our server and she was amazing such a wonderful person making sure we had a good experience and making sure everything was okay. For such a young person she had amazing manners and just overall a nice person. We will be back again soon :):)

Chilled but atmospheric, phenomenal staff with a very positive attitude. Michael took the time to say hello to us outside and also to ask about the dog. Brilliant place, pet friendly and lovely food/drink.

Family Feeding Centre No signs on where to go if you booked a table, just stood at the bar waiting for quite a while. Eventually we asked at the bar and got our table, but with hindsight I wish we had just walked out there and then. If you like squawking kids, stinking carpets and members of the public walking past your table to use the toilets akin to a service station then this place is for you. Horrible fish and chips where the soggy batter just fell off the fish, also comes with frozen chips. Staff also completely overstretched. First and last time for us.

We had a lovely family meal, we were served by Michael who was great! Didn’t leave us too long in between drinks and perfectly timed for food orders. Food was freshly prepared and was really good 😊

Very friendly helpful staff . Food ok. Usually visit afternoon where they have special senior menu. This visit was on Friday night around 1930. Not busy for a Friday and plenty of clean set tables. Nice views of the Bridgewater canal. Overall good night out.

Had a great rest meal after visiting the market in the car park.

Came 2 weeks ago for a staff gathering. Nothing was too much trouble! Popped in today to get my fine wiped (my fault I forgot to enter my reg) again lovely service by Michael and the young lady behind the bar.

We were able to get 30 guests seated and served in the restaurant, no issues at all. The food was very good, and our waitress Tia was polite attentive and generally fantastic managing all our food and drinks orders for such a big group. Lots of parking space, just remember to log your vehicle reg on the computer at the bar ;-)

Been coming to the Moorings for years now, Sarah & Chloe on the bar are always a delight. Food is good & such a chilled environment, we're always made to feel welcome

I went to the Moorings for the markets and was served by i think was the manager with blonde hair. He coudnt have been more helpful, our food was really nice, we had a bit of a wait but we expected that as it was so busy. Will definitley visit again

Lovely location, staff were friendly and the food was good. We waited 45 for food, thought it was slow for the number of people.

You should use signs for where to wait to get served. We have been ignored at the bar for two times in a row, when it wasn’t too busy. Or do you expect me to shout at people to draw attention that I should be the one to be served next. We had to come downstairs after waiting upstairs for 10 mins, as the staff went to people who were a few minutes after us. We said we should at least be the next to be served, however got ignored again. It’s such a waste of the view outside - the beautiful day just got ruined.

I've been visiting this venue for 20+yrs, 3, 4r or more times a month. Over the yrs it's become a less appealing place to visit, but more the last 3yrs. Not only as the service become 'unorganised' staff are unfriendly, probably because of the chaos of bad management. They have also implemented the patrons 'Reg No' Rules...I've always followed the rules 'imputing my Reg' but silly me forgot Saturday 14th Sept & received a £60 parking ticket...if GreenKing think this is a 'Profit making money spinner', Wrong!!. I wont be spending my money in your pub until I'm confident I've achieved my expenditure exceeds 4+ times the ticket value. However I'm not sure I will return the management, service & decor is appalling.

Staff were very good and attentive however we should of been told there was no foccacia bread with the risotto as on the menu as we would of ordered chicken with it to bulk it out

Had a great Sunday lunch served by the very attentive Chloe, its dog frendly with dogs having own menue. Food was brilliant just what we needed after a rainy day cruising on the Bridgewater canal. Easy access from the canal for narrowboaters.

We are regular visitors to the Moorings, today 15th September (Table 29) we had a very tasty Roast Turkey and Beef duo and our granddaughter had Mac and Cheese roast dinner, a very generous serving for £4.99, the only thing I would say is hot food needs to be on hot plates as food cooled quickly, but the Sunday roasts have improved from a long while ago. Service was pretty quick today and it was a little less busy than you would expect on a Sunday, but it was only 12.30, the current staff and the manager MICHAEL are very friendly and helpful, a lot of staff changes since Rebecca moved on some time ago. The Breakfast is highly recommended here and has several options and even the smaller breakfast has everything you want and a very reasonable £6.99. The outside seating area has recently received some long awaited attention to the paving area and tables and seating. Glad to see the high seats near the pool table steps with the missing arm padding have finally gone, they were not looking their best. Very dog friendly and large free car park but remember to enter your car registration when inside.

Had a lovely lunch me and my Auntie Wendy. Had the king prawn risotto & scampi & chips. Food was excellent and Danielle who served us was really lovely and bubbly. Really looked after us!

Absolutely atrocious start off £8 for 1 and a 1/2 pints of lager, I ordered Lasagna with garlic and rosemary focaccia which turns out was not available, so chips it was then. Chips were cold, Lasagna must have been reheated at least half a dozen times, with a scattering of what looked like dead leaves. Seriously avoid, absolutely disgusting.

The location is good, but the food and service are very poor.

Weve had a great night in the Moorings with Danielle, Sarah and the team. Harry was rolling solo on the quiz (if you're a public house in need of entertainment, Harry the Quiz Master H the one for you, call Sarah at the Moorings for details) even though Danielle and Sarah came second in the quiz, they donated thier bottle of wine to us, more than likely because they cheated and didn't want to meet me in the carpark for fisty cuffs. However, great night and only £2 a pint until the 18th September. Which is probably going to be my last night here. Great laugh and great staff.

We came here on a lovely Saturday early evening and sat outside as the weather was nice. Ordered our food through the app, the sharing nachos started took almost 30 minutes to come out to us, then the mains were about 20-25 minutes to come out after that. The nachos were average, bit too many jalapeños dumped on the top for our liking. The mixed grill was ok, the steak on the mixed grill I ask for it to be medium rare and it was a bit too overdone unfortunately, the salt and pepper squid was a side to add onto the meal. The lamb shank was super tasty and fell off the bone, the mash was also nice and creamy, perfect consistency. The broccoli was way too tough and we struggled to cut through it with the steak knife from the mixed grill. We’ve been here a few times and it was pretty average this time.

Lovely impromptu afternoon visit with friends, after a walk around RHS. Surprisingly tasty Sunday dinner. Amy, who served us, was lovely - very polite young lady who was extremely attentive.

Used to love this place for a reasonable mid-week meal. Unfortunately on the last two visits the food has been terrible and last time we just walked out and went somewhere else and left the food on the table. The orders have been wrong on the last two visits and had to send food back. The meal was horrendously overcooked and dry as a dog biscuit. Seriously how do you burn pineapple! We may visit for a drink in summer but won’t be coming back for food. Really need to up the game team, we don’t expect 5 star food but it should be edible!

Excellent service, very friendly and great food at reasonable prices too. Highly recommended. Looked after a group of 11 of us beautifully.

Table was dirty, asked someone to wipe it three times but no one cleaned it, food was very disappointing, tried to order a wrap but none were available, ordered a bowl of chips, bowl with 7 chips arrived at the table

We'd booked ahead for our large cycling group and Michael looked after us very well. We enjoyed the lunchtime light bite specials on the terrace in the sunshine. Great value and service thanks
