Cecconi's Pizza Bar in City of London, Westminster

The restaurant was perfect for us going to the theatre opposite. The service was fab and the food even better. The only thing I would pull it on would be that it was quite hot in there. Or is mid winter and very cold outside so was a little too much inside but thats all I can point out.

This is more of an art. We didn't feel very welcomed at first to be honest then it was slightly better. But the food is epic.. Everything was beyond delicious. It is an experience that you never forget.

Wonderful fresh pasta and pizza Served by Sally, at the kitchen bar - watched the Italian and international chefs take utmost care with great cooking! Crazily busy Monday night at Christmas but apparently typical for their Monday night clientele! Will come again soon! <3

What can I say, found by pure chance and it couldn't have gone better. You can't even say a pizza like this in Italy. Quality products and practically perfect dough. Andri served us impeccably and courteously as is done in the best places. I recommend it if you want to eat properly. I will definitely go back.

Food is Fresh, beautifully prepared, one of the best in London in fact my favourite at the moment, such a variety to choose from, spoilt for choice, if you haven’t tried this place and love good home style food I would definitely recommend it, you will not regret it .

Ignore the poor reviews, they’re generally coming from people rushing in from/before the theatre expecting food to come quickly. Though we did have dinner here on a Monday night it was still decently full (though not crowded) We had 2 main courses and 2 sides. Excellent pizza and a good pasta. Sides were exceptional especially the truffle arancini. Great music/atmosphere as well.

A really poor and distressing experience. It took us thirty minutes for them to even come and take our drinks order. The waiter had the audacity to joke that we looked stressed when he came over. After an hour and a half, our starter plates still hadn’t been cleared. Our waiter was outside trying to talk to girls whilst he smoked a cigarette, instead of clearing our plates. When it came to pay, he wouldn’t bring our bill over so we had to ask the maitre’d to bring it over. I would avoid this place unless you want to wait for your food and be beyond starving when it comes, and then have jokes made when it is brought to you. A very unpleasant experience - at least the maitre’d stepped up and sorted things.

Good ambiance. Decent food - nothing special. Service subpar- we were a large group and we didn’t have a dedicated server for the table. It was utter chaos. The table wasn’t clean after appetizers for the main courses, the waiters had no idea who had ordered what- so we had to interrupt conversations for the whole table to figure out who ordered this drink or this main, the service was very slow- waiting 10-15min for a drink for example, the staff was not particularly friendly and condescending, there was no ask about dietary restrictions or trying to accommodate for them, etc. Would not recommend and would never go back.

What a fantastic experience at Cecconi’s! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed thanks to the incredibly kind staff, especially Sally at the front desk, who was so friendly, warm and charming. The food, as always, was outstanding; each dish was better than the last. Out of all the Cecconi’s I’ve visited, this one is by far the best. Highly recommended for any occasion. I’ll definitely be back!

One of the few places to eat after clubbing in Soho. Vibe is still like a club (+pro) and so is the food (-con).

Very basic food. Not surprised it’s completely empty on a Saturday lunch

The food was horrible, rocket salad just tasted like lime, the pasta was so bad, specially the Cacio e Pepe, meatballs were ok. I was very surprised with the quality of the food, in a bad way. And when you think it can go worse, they bring you an affogato with an Americano instead of an espresso. Speechless. They also used the wrong glass for the Prosecco.

Cuando abrimos la puerta por primera vez estábamos saludando muy bien y el lugar parecía acogedor. Eran solo las 6 de la tarde y todavía estaba en calma. En una hora ni siquiera podíamos escucharnos tan apresurados para ir a un lugar tranquilo como no podíamos mantener una conversación adecuada. También juzgo a un italiano por lo buena que era su carbonara y solo me comí la mitad. Había panceta mínima, aunque muy sabrosa. El plato era básicamente espagueti y se congeló bastante rápido. El personal era muy agradable e hicieron buenas margaritas, pero no volverá.

I've been served by Francesco and let me tell you.. I worked in hospitality for 12 years, I was manager of restaurants and this guy is an asset!!! The best thoughtful waiter I've ever seen, I would have offered him a job if I still was in the business! He is the best! Kind, respectful, friendly he's got it all! Well done Francesco! We were on a business trip to London with a large group. I did my best to find a nice restaurant that would be good for such a large group. Italian is always a good idea, so I ended up at Cecconi's pizza bar. The email contact was already very nice because we had someone with a number of allergies. Once in London we had eaten at Gordon Ramsays Street burger the day before and that was disappointing. I was a bit afraid that this would also be the case here because Cecconi's also has a number of restaurants. I hoped that it would not be such a 'too-commercial-money-factory-with-medium-food'. But nothing could be further from the truth, the service was super friendly, they thought along with you, the food was fresh and super tasty, they were attentive to whether people still had a drink and the place was completely full. Thank you for the nice evening we had with you. If we come back to London, we definetly will come by!

Cecconi’s – A Bustling Soho Staple with Good Food Our second stop on the London secret food tour was Cecconi’s, and while the pizza looked amazing, we decided to try the truffle arancini instead. These little bites were filled with gooey fontina cheese and came in a serving of four. They were good, but I think the truffle flavor was a bit overwhelming after a while, even for a truffle lover like me. The restaurant was packed with locals, which is always a good sign. However, the busy atmosphere meant the staff seemed overwhelmed. There was a lot of commotion, and at one point, a waitress dropped and broke a few plates nearby. Overall, the food was good, and Cecconi’s is clearly a popular spot, but the service and ambiance didn’t quite meet the high expectations. It’s a solid place, but for me, not quite a 5-star experience.

The carbonara was awful, not at all an italian carbonara. Meatballs were good tho. Overpriced

Great food, great service, great location

Great staff and great atmosphere, one of my favourites in soho to catch up with friends - I’ve been three times this month! Top dishes: focaccia is a must have with balsamic and oil, bucatini amatriciana or salami pizza and the tirimisu 😍

Very busy but absolutely amazing pizza. Open really late and has a great vibe. Genuinely reasonably priced which is so rare in that area of London. Will come again.

I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat here, but what stood out was the wonderful service from the lady who organised our table and the barman who served our drinks before we got the table. We had a very enjoyable start to our evening thanks to them.

Abbiamo prenotato questo locale a Soho per una cena al volo e abbiamo mangiato benissimo. I ravioli erano deliziosi, insieme alla carbonara e ai bucatini. Davvero tutto delizioso. Il locale è tipicamente inglese, ma il gusto è tipicamente italiano. Approvato!

The Food is delicious, I recommend the Arancini with the Truffle sauce. We went on Thursday lunch, the vibe was impeccable they had all the Italian Flags out, such a good atmosphere. Morgan who seems to be the manager was an absolute star, her energy was felt on every tables that she went to. Would definitely go back.

Cancelled booking for party of 9 for being 10 minutes late. Unfriendly way of communicating.

We went for a quick bit before the theatre, booked for 5.30pm, was seen to our table, then 10 minutes later we were given menus, and told we needed to give the table back at 5.30pm as it was booked !!!! This was 5.40pm !!! we said yes it's booked by us? we ordered drinks and some time after had to ask for our order to be taken. It was gone at 6.30pm and we still had no food, we asked several times if the order was coming and were told it was on its way, well it was not. I asked for the manager who never came to the table. I'm sorry but over an hour to get a plain pizza. I made a complaint, the manager still did not come, but we were told that they would take £10 off the bill. When the Bill came at 6.50pm , they had added a 13.5% service charge, what a cheek, i asked for that to be taken off, which they did, but the waitress was very grumpy. Such poor service and a bad attitude from all the staff. But the way the food was ok.

The first time I came with a friend of mine I was generally disappointed, but I wanted to give it another chance after seeing some positive reviews that intrigued me. I had the best fresh pasta amatriciana of my life and my partner had the creamiest tonarelli caccio pepe. Great selection of drafts in an Italian restaurant which I think is one of the best in London. Very kind and fast service. Don't miss the tomato meatballs and the dessert tirramisu (recommended to share). The food was of a higher quality and not even comparable to my first time. Happy to return next time!

Plain and simply the front of house staff were rude and unfriendly. Our waitress was trying her best but was clearly terrified of the shift manager. All customers were treated as a hassle as soon as they walked in. Average food, tinged by the negative attitude. Felt rushed, my plate was taken seconds after I finished whilst my wife was still eating. Plenty of much better places to eat in Soho, I'd suggest Little Italy where you get treated with respect, a warm welcome and excellent attentive service.

Avoid at all costs , there was I thinking front of house were meant to welcome not to make you feel like a second class citizen! Stutting around like they owned the place , I've worked front of house before and I was led to believe you are supposed to be welcoming!!! Not snobby, abrupt and dam right rude! The atmosphere was poor as a result better places for same food near by ,try Little Italy Soho for a real welcome!

Been a few times but last was the best. Super friendly staff, great pizzas, fun atmosphere. I was drinking a espresso martini that tasted ok but the manager spotted it wasnt the right color and just brought me another one free of charge ( second one was perfect).

I was in there yesterday. The ambience and food are good and also service. Specially the meatball with tomato sauce.

Luisa is brilliant, got us a table sorted quickly with no booking, brilliant service, never had to call her over as she was always checking on us, making sure we didn’t need anything else. Pizza is also amazing, but the quick service and efficiency of Luisa made the night! She will go far in the service industry. A credit and investment for any restaurant.

Good stop for a bite however, the server of the day is Louisa. So kind, so friendly and she works really hard. A big smile all the time. If you are a guest in her station, you will be very happy. Great girl, one who understands the job!

TLDR: touch nothing but the pizza. I wish I'd read the reviews before eating at this place. The atmosphere and decor are good, the service is nothing special, but hardly anything to complain about. The pizzas looked really really good. But we ordered pasta. I'm pretty sure I was given supermarket-grade dry Fusili topped with tinned mushrooms and very little, if anything, else. The other dish was Ravioli, which came swimming in butter. The Affogato was served as a single scoop of ice cream in a metal dish that would have been more suited to a school canteen. The coffee shot was pretty tasty, though!

Avoid! Waited 20 mins for the drinks After 50 minutes of wait, we chased the pizzas and were told they would be with us immediately. After 10 minutes (more than 60 mins after we arrived) the pizzas were still not in sight so we decided to leave. There was no apology, no attempt to make up for the wait, and we were asked to pay £50 even though we hadn’t had most of the wine. Went to cinquecento around the corner and had a much better pizza and experience. UPDATE: we emailed the address provided and no one responded after 10 days

We were here last week, the food was delicious, good portions and value for money. Staff were nice, luckily came early as service was a little slow. Lovely meal before the MJ show.

Booked for my birthday dinner as I had been a few times and like the vibe and the food. However on this occasion the service was atrocious, not only did it take three hours to get through the meal (even with a set menu and the restaurant wasn’t full), the drinks took 30 mins to come, and our waitress was rude. The only pro I would say is that the amount of food on the set menu is loads, so value for money is great, and it was all very yummy, I won’t be going back, especially not for a celebration.

What a great atmosphere in the hidden gem in soho. I came in with my family and had one of the best pizzas in London hands down! Our waitress Mariella was such a gem and was so attentive and caring towards us. The cocktails were absolutely insane, I had never hear of a casa verde or an eastern standard before and now they are the two best cocktails I have ever tasted. Thank you cecconis team for taking care of us, I will definitely be bringing my family here again!

Truffle arancini.. I would go back and order that ten times over (but the rest was also delicious). Only downside was a bit loud for easy conversation.

So I have been coming here as a local member of hospitality for a while but this is my first review of cecconis. Friday night . Busy as usual but I had to wait no longer than 2 minutes for my negronis , I felt like I mattered . I would like to give a special thanks to their head bartender ,Anastasia and the manager ,Francesco making sure my night was unforgettable. As a fellow hospitality member a HUGE shoutout for cecconis.

Really lovely food. Amazing freshly squeezed orange juice that was so good I had to have 3 glasses! Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend.

I have been to over a thousand restaurants in my life and this is the first time I am writing a review to explain how rude the staff are in there. If you ask them a question they ignore you and pretend they can’t hear you. The food was very average as well. I will not be returning back

Avoid at all cost! I went there with my husband; we waited for more than 60 minutes for a pizza (that never came).When we asked the waiter about our order, he said “it was coming”, but this was not true. We had to leave to come back to work so we could not have our pizzas. We went home without dinner and charged around 50 pounds for the wine. The waiter also did not apologize/ tried to make up for the situation.

Very nice drinks and amazing ambience. The service was slow and at times we were just left at the table with no service for over 20 minutes. The pizza flavours were interesting, and they were made well. Good value for money!

Came with my mum and had an amazing time all the staff were so welcoming and friendly and super attentive, it was so busy but the atmosphere was booming throughout our meal all the food came out in great time and both the food and drinks were just top quality, 100% coming back with everyone who’ll possibly come with me, overall an amazing dining experience in the heart of soho.

I was there eating and drinking and when I was gonna pay I told to the waiter to remove the service charge and the waiter asked not polite me why I didn't want to pay the service charge several times and when I refused to pay they told me to leave the venue.

So overpriced. Cacktail is full of ice. Very little alcohol

Style over substance sums up this place. I have visited twice in 2 months & probably won't go back again. Food is ok, I expect better for the price. Drinks were good. Service is where this place lets itself down badly. I can't tell if the root cause is too many tables in a tight space or the staff training required. Basically, it's a constant challenege to get service and the space on the table is very limited. They do act like it's a pain to serve you.

Walked in without a booking and the lady at the desk was very welcoming. We had a drink at the bar while she tried to find us a table. The food and atmosphere and music were amazing. Great wine. Clean toilets Highly recommend

Tried to eat here after a show on the west end only to have our reservation canceled because “the kitchen closes at 10:30.” We book the reservation because their website said they served food until midnight. We went to the Ivy instead but apparently their kitchen is open late so either the restaurant was being lazy or both their website and word of mouth was wrong. Either way will never try to be back.

Shambolic service. Utterly disgusted would never visit again. They turn a fun, memorable experience into an utterly terrible shambles. Avoid. Do not waste your time, money or effort.

Nice small plates but completely awful service - we were ignored and spoken to very rudely. Staff had a superiority complex like no other! Will not be returning, would recommend others don’t go.

Sat at an outdoor table on Thursday afternoon 18 April. After being there for 20 minutes without anyone bothering to come outside, I went indoors and ordered at the bar. I explained I would not be paying a service charge, as I had not received any. The barman to his credit did remove service charge, but no apology about the dreadful lack of service.The dining room was not even that busy, which really annoyed me. Today, Saturday 20 April I returned, hoping in vain that things might have improved. No such luck. Sat outside again but after 10 minutes, still nobody came out. Decided to cut my losses and went to another restaurant instead. I will not be coming back anytime soon....

I ordered a Rigatoni and it was okay. But the portion was very small, more like a kids plate. That was disappointing. The service was very nice but let us alone for a good time because of shift change.

Pre-show meal, quite nice, buzzy place, little disappointed with the service tbh...waiter didn't seem attentive enough in my opinion, walked past several times even after trying to attract his attention & one of the servers was dressed very casually, wasn't sure if they even worked there & drinks took ages to arrive, oh & we had 2 salts on our table, unable to tell coz it's quite dark in there, so oversalted both our main courses..on a positive note, assorted cold meats starters were excellent & both pizzas were tasty, before we oversalted them...🤷‍♂️

Really crowded, gives the vibe of a pub. We waited over an hour for our food and it was cold. The pasta I got tasted like rubber. Wouldn't reccommend.

We found the staff to be attentive but the food is not the best all round. We did address some issues when two of us had food poisoning from a crab linguini but Soho House deemed it unlikely and that we had not provided a poo sample to prove it!!! Not sure Deliveroo would appreciate that kind of delivery. We should have complained on the night as the dish was fishy in smell and sludgy in presentation. Having eaten in a few of their establishments I would say food is good marketing over quality.

Food was okay but service was awful. When seated we waited 15 minutes to even order drinks. We were in there for 2 and a half hours for a 2 course meal as service was just so slow. At the end of our main course our plates weren't taken away, we weren't approached and asked if we wanted dessert/another drink/the bill. About 20 mins after finishing the main course we asked for the bill which did not come. We then asked a different member of staff about 15 mins later for the bill again which they eventually gave us. After getting the bill it then took another 10 mins to pay despite all sitting in our coats waiting. Overall, seemed understaffed so may not entirely be their fault but the ones that were there didn't seem to care about us and tended to ignore us.

Get there in the evening around 8 p.m. It was very well attended. We sat at the high tables right by the kitchen. It was exciting to watch. We were informed in advance which items on the menu were no longer available. The order was placed quickly and the food came quite quickly. It was really very tasty and the price was absolutely right!

We dined here before heading to a show across the road at the Prince Edward Theatre, so location was convenient for this. The food was lovely and the staff. Nice atmosphere.

They have pizza on the other hand

I went here for something quick before the Theatre: a warm welcome, great atmosphere and good food that was reasonably priced. The staff made the effort and were genuinely bothered about the meal experience. A great find, and will definitely be looking to go back, promote shamelessly they deserve the business.

No customer service, menu terrible, food presentation awful with small portions, wasn't offered a drink only a £5 bottle of table water. Food never came out together then had a cheek to charge £9 service charge.... never again.

Granted we were running just a little late and we called three times to let them know but no answer. Then our table wasn’t ready so ok. 15 minutes later we were seated. Let them know we had a reservation to make so could we order / pay quickly. The service was an absolute joke. Forgot a drinks order, everything took ages, and ultimately in turned out they also forgot to place our food order. Left without eating. Ruined my birthday.

6 of us came here for a birthday dinner. We all had lots of starters to share which were fantastic and the pizza was one of the best you'll in London (the price was very good too). The service on the other hand was awful. Being asked what we'd like to order to eat without being given a menu, one of our party didn't have their meal and it wasn't until the CHEF came and asked, it was sorted. The thing that annoyed us most of all was the staff constantly trying to take our plates while we were still eating. This happened on four occasions. We felt very rushed even though there were plenty of empty tables.

The only pasta place that has no spaghetti or linguine! Pizza was wet and doughy and pasta portions are tiny! I got quizzed and made to answer to the manager as to why I wanted to take off the service charge! It is discretionary and would rather I decide what amount if any I would like to pay!

I always have an amazing time. I have celiac disease and they are always extremely accommodating. Also Tiggy is the best server I’ve ever had she’s wonderful! Must recommend this place!

This restaurant is beautiful inside and very welcoming, but the food is basic and school kids could cook better. Presentation of the food is horrendous and the food is very bland. I would suggest a relook at the menu and how each dish is served to the customer's. It’s seems the chef takes no pride in his food whatsoever. The pizzas look amazing and I would say it’s more a pizza restaurant. Very disappointed.
