Everest Gurkha Nepalese Restaurent in York

Found this while walking past to our hotel. Look at TA and found some great reviews.and they were not wrong. Absolutely beautiful, tastey food. Would definitely recommend and will return (probably tomorrow, lol). Worth a visit and the gurkha beer is very good.

Fantastic little find, food was great. Hymalayan lamb was so tender and full of flavour. Staff lovely and made you feel very welcome. Will definitely be back next time we are in York.

I recently visited York with a couple of friends for a few days. We stumbled upon this restaurant expecting it to be a variation on a typical Indian restaurant. Having been seated and given a menu we realised that it was quite different with young ladies helping us with our understanding of some of the finer points on the menu. The food is Asian but it is much more than a variation on what we in the U.K. expect of Indian food. The restaurant is family run and the recipes for the dishes have been passed on from their mother. The three of us had a variety of dishes, which we all enjoyed. It was a really enjoyable experience visiting the restaurant. The staff were attentive, helpful and polite, the food was excellent. We have no hesitation in recommending the Gurkha Nepalese restaurant and when next in York we will. Is it again.

Great flavours - Nepalese food has long been a favourite, and this certainly didn't disappoint. I love the influences from both Indian and Chinese cuisine, although it manages to be distinctive.

Very friendly and authentic family run Nepali restaurant! As a Nepali regular, I can highly recommend this very, very friendly place in Fossgate. Momo’s are wonderful….as is the Thali!
