Popped in for a takeaway and it was delicious, fragrant, bursting with flavour. Great value

We had a quick dinner on boxing day. Tom Yum was really nice. spicy enough for the cold weather and my sinuses!! Pork on toast and pad krapow kai were tasty as well. Quick service and fairly priced.

Really delicious food. Second time I've had a takeaway from here and everything had been really good. Fresh and warming flavours. I had the Phla Kung salad, very hot but in a good way, and the tofu Gang Paneang. Price is reasonable and delivery was quick and friendly.

Food here is always great. delivery was about an hour, which I guess on a Sunday night could be a tad faster but it's still within reason. would recommend!

This is a takeaway with just two tables and window seats. The food is excellent. We had excellent veggie spring rolls, fresh, well-filled, crispy, tasty, and a good sized portion with nice fresh garnish and chilli sauce. I had a tofu green curry. Again excellent with a tasty sauce, good spicing, a generous variety of fresh and not overcooked veggies and perfectly done tofu, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. (All too often tofu is done badly, often soggy, but not here). My friend had a beef penang curry and has also had a massaman curry here recently. She said that she preferred the penang as spicier but both were very good. All in all, a takeaway producing restaurant quality meals at budget prices. Would recommend highly!!

Ordered my first Mali Thai tonight and I have to say it was absolutely outstanding, the tempura prawns were the best I have had and the chicken wings were delicious . The Thai red curry was also spot on! Highly recommend.

Ordered a Red Curry and a Chicken Pad Thai. The Red Curry was fine, but the Chicken Pad Thai was possibly the worst we've ever had. The chicken was previously cooked, chilled, and then reheated. It was tough and borderline inedible. After a few bites, we agreed that we felt the same and disposed of it. The noodles were quite dry too, actually feeling like a reheated portion that had been previously left out.

The food is of high quality, authentic Thai flavor, the staff is polite, the store is comfortable, the food is hygienic and clean, the canned drinks are cheap, it would be better if authentic Thai spices could be introduced into the cuisine

Best Thai I have eaten in ages! My friend and loved it, I had Pad Thai, he the Green Curry and what great choices they were. Well prepared with great fresh vegetables and tasted as good as you can outside of Thailand itself. My friend had just returned from a yoga retreat there and was amazed at the quality for the UK! Lovely friendly staff, even the chef wished us goodbye when we left, such a different experience than the place we tried next door a few days before but more on that later!

Ordered the pork belly Pad See Ew, duck rolls and spring rolls and it was absolutely delicious. Very good value for money, lots of big chunks of pork belly! The food arrived early, before the recommended delivery time and came piping hot. The driver was very friendly. Overall 10/10 takeaway experience! Definitely recommend and will be ordering from here again!

Great place to drop in for Thai food. It’s so good and fairly priced. The spicy noodles with pork were sooo good! And had whole parts of duck falling out the spring rolls. Fast service and the lady serving us was super friendly. Would recommend for eating in or takeaway. Everything only came to £41 for all this food and we walked out stuffed!!

Staying on Gillygate in York meant a tale of two takeaways this year. First this one, a lovely little Thai place with a great menu, warm and friendly staff and nice and cosy eating area. Food was flavorful and hearty and left us all very happy to have eaten there. Try the noodles, beautiful.

We ordered delivery it arrived quickly even though it’s Christmas weekend. Hot and delicious we had the green curry pad Thai and spring rolls. Will definitely be ordering again.

Food that arrives isn’t as advertised

This was the best Vegetable and Tofu Penang Curry we have tried in York. It’s our favourite dish but obviously varies greatly between restaurants and chefs. The vegetables were fresh… aubergine, courgette, green beans, carrot, lovely mushrooms, tofu marinaded and generous portion. Jasmine rice included in Curry price. Delicious! 😋 Mali Thai 😋 It was peak time on a Weekend but the delivery was within the predicted timescale, with a smile, despite the weather 👍🏼

Such a wonderful meal. This place was near our accommodation so we wanted to try it and I am glad we did. Lovely, helpful owners and staff, and superb Thai food. Curries and noodle dishes made with fresh and quality meant and vegetables put together with care. Great value as well. Will come back here when next in York on business!

This was our second visit to Mali, and it didn’t disappoint, in fact it was amazing again. We chose to eat in both on both visits, and the staff were wonderful, and very proud of their food, and rightly so! The food is amazing, the best Thai food I have ever eaten! I cannot recommend Mali enough, 5 ⭐️ isn’t giving it enough credit

Felt like I’d stepped back into Thailand, wonderful food. Accommodated special request I added to the note. Would have been helpful to understand rice came with the stir fry dishes as this wasn’t clear. Definitely recommend and will be using again.

These days everything is so expensive that having a takeaway is a rare treat. And we've had a few disappointing, over-priced ones this year. Mali Thai is an exception. We had our occasional takeaway this afternoon, and it was sensational. We had spare ribs, chicken wings (garlic and spicy), dim sum and tom kha soup. Everything was freshly cooked, well flavoured and completely delicious. I like the 'chef-ey' touches such as the bed of finely sliced stir-fried veg under the ribs and wings. Thank You Mali Thai - you've made our bellies happy yet again!
