Mixed kebab (without the doner) is the best I've tasted, burgers and pizza are delicious too! Went back recently for the kebabs, nowhere near as good I'm afraid. ☹️ Update, must've been a bad night, gave then another chance and it was delicious 🤤

Nice, visiting Scotland and was looking for a chippy on a Sunday, most where closed? But this was open, very busy, good choice of food, what we got was nice and would go again if paying. All staff seemed friendly and efficient.

We had a lot of things from Fish N Chips , to Chips and Cheese which was fab . To Sausage Supper ( Sausage was not so good a bit stale ) Fritters were hard and under cooked . Fish was OK nothing special 3 out of ten. However the Chips were fantastic 5 out of 5 . Also recommend there brown sauce they make themselves. But I would avoid the Sausage or at least this time was poor.

The staff here seemed friendly enough, couldn't fault them. This was the first time that I've tried the place but there won't be a second. I bought a fish supper and a special fish supper. My partner didn't like hers. I had the special fish, and left half of it. Freshly cooked, but overcooked. Lots of batter/breadcrum compared to the size of he fillet within it. But it was dry and needed a hacksaw to cut through overdone batter. Both fish had several bones too, I can't handle bones in my fish. Quite a shame as the place is spotless clean and nice staff. Tubs of ice cream are tasty though, only £4.50 and that is enough for 2 of us. On prices, felt it was a bit high, £20 for 2 suppers and a pickle. My usual chippy is about £17.

Grubby shop, Foreign abrupt staff, over cooked food, tasted like very old oil was used, greasy, felt ill after. AVOID !!

In and out - quick service is just what you need. Tis a shame there's only one size of donner kebab now as I cannot eat it all. There used to be a smaller size which was enough for me and partner also got a fish supper. We now half the kebab to avoid wastage which is a monetary loss for Gerry's as they lose out on a separate fish supper which he'd have preferred but won't waste half a kebab. Still it's only one order for them. Food is still very good though.

Chilly Service - Gerry's Takeaway Takes a Dive My recent experience with Gerry's Takeaway was extremely disappointing. Despite being a loyal customer and having ordered from them several times before, the quality of service has steadily declined. Our latest order arrived late and completely cold, which is unacceptable, especially considering the cost involved. As a family of six, indulging in takeout is a special treat for us, but the lack of attention to detail and the apparent decline in standards make it seem like nothing more than a cash grab now. Sadly, based on this experience, I won't be ordering from Gerry's again.

At the start this was the place to go, unfortunately after several visits and disappointment, it's now the place to avoid. Only 1 out of 4 visits has the food been hot, I'd rather wait to get fresh fried food rather than have it all ready not knowing how long it's been sitting.

Once again I ordered two buttered rolls and once again only received one. Is it really that hard to get an order correct?

I am rating this place 1 star because unfortunately some of the staff have no manners. I ordered a kebab for delivery and it was cold so I phoned to complain. They offered a new one however when I said I didnt want a kebab again a male voice piped up "hang up" and the lady on the phone hung up on me. I am never a person to complain about anything but for a £15 kebab including delivery for it to be cold is unjustified. I called again and it appeared to be someone new on the phone so I expressed my disappointment and I felt the staff were very rude in treating a paying customer this way. Danielle kindly offered me an alternative so that is where my 1 star is going. My hamburger supper was hot and very good. I just feel very disappointed in the way I was treated. I feel that customer service should be a priority considering that is how you get paid. Certainly puts me off ordering in future.

Went in to get some chips. Wanted 2 bags. Asked to pay by cash and card, but grumpy lady refused. Paid all on card, got back home to discover that 1 bag of chips is significantly smaller than the other. So honestly, even though the chips are great, I wont be back! Karma Police!

I've never had a bad takeaway from Gerrys but this was bad. Fish and chips where cold. The mixed kebab, not much in it. The kebab meat was like rubber.

The fish was cold brick hard and chips cold and reheated! This chippy has gone downhill 🤮 never ordering again it’s so expensive too!

Ordered chips, doner kebab, single fish. Doner kebab & fish was cold had to heat in microwave when we got home. ( live 3 minutes drive away from shop). Chips were terrible all end scraps with a little bit of fresh chips on top. Cost £18.70 most of it ended up in the bin. Not be returning anytime soon.

Got spring rolls and they where soggy not crispy so in the bin they went the wife got sausage supper chip's where lovely as they where just made the wife said that's the best part of the supper and must agree. Was not a great but have had better

2 fish and chips. Fish that had batter like rubber that father in law could not cut. Also a mixed kebab that was just dripping in grease and pitta bread soaking with grease, inedible. Really disappointing when looking forward to a Saturday night treat

Been looking for a good take away in Bathgate, was told to try here, came in with my mum this evening. (I was having a bit of a bad afternoon/evening so had to leave while mum ordered. Food always makes the mood better though) However, the service was amazing and the staff where super friendly, place was spotless and overall was a great experience. Food was piping hot so when we got home it was still hot! which I love! the chips and pizza where amazing and will definitely be back again! I will be recommending here to people I know when they come up for a holiday.

Can the owners advise, what does +10 brown, done that and hardly got a lick, would hate to see +1. Great fish and chips though

Ordered a Döner Kebab and it was served only 3 minutes after the order! Thumb up for that. The amount of meat was okay but sadly not cut recently but came out of the tray and was coldish. I could understand if it at least would have been cut off crispy but it was missing the brown crust that Döner-meat should have. Please try to wait until the meat is done properly before cutting it. At least it was cut very thin as it is supposed to be. The bread was horrible and the sauce was....british. Try a garlic mince herb sauce. The staff was not superfriendly but not unfriendly at all. In my opinion still overpriced gor 9.50£ as it wasn't real meat but the standard ru**ish minced meat kebab and we all know what they put in that. Salad for the Döner was one! slice of tomato and one! slice of cucumber, some lettuce and onions. Will maybe go there again to see if they care about reviews. If yes, rating up; if no, rating down. Should have tried fish n chips instead. Hope you guys don't take it in a bad way but see the chance to improve. Cu then!

After having such a high standard of chippys in Edinburgh and among my favourites are the fish market and city restaurant, I’m quite particular when it comes to my fish suppa. After reading some reviews of Gerry’s I was on the fence about trying it this evening and was about to settle on some wings and nuggets from the freezer but however my wife and I set out down the road to see what Gerry’s had to offer. Upon arriving we had a few questions, I wasn’t sure if I wanted the two small pieces of fish or the one large piece as they were the same price. I settled for the two small pieces which were quickly scoffed down when I get home that’s why there’s no photo of it but what can I say. Im pretty excited that our local chippy is pretty banging. The fish never had that oily greasy taste some chip shops have and had the perfect level of crispness to it. The chips were nice too, not crispy ones but more on the soggy side which I know a lot of people prefer. Maybe next time I’ll ask them if they can fry my chips for a couple minutes longer. Would highly recommend!

The foods nice enough, but they are stingy with their curry sauce and you have to pay for a small tub of chilli to go with the donner meat. Normally you would get a wee tub with the meat and pay for additional.

Went for a LARGE fish supper, was charged £8:50 , the batter on the fish was solid and brown, obviously been sitting for a while, when we called to complain we were told it was soft when I put in the box hunny,oh plus tge chips were lukewarm AVOID THIS PLACE , THE WORST CHIPPY IV EVER HAD , THEY DONT GIVE A 💩 about customer service or the quality of food , AVOID AVOID AVIID

Simple cheese n tomato pizza was surprisingly impressive, Single chicken and a hamburger supper were exactly what the doctor ordered, Not a big fan of chippy stuff but we enjoyed it so much we ordered again the following night.

The best chippy Bathgate has ever had–for pure taste and value, Gerry's is miles ahead of its competition, past and present. Plenty of staff to keep your wait time down, reasonable price, well packaged (ensuring your food is still hot and fresh when get home) and always a massive selection on offer. Fish, chips, king rib, pizzas, pakora, smoked sausage, kebabs–all fantastic! Make sure you also pick up a bottle of Gerry's Chippy Sauce, to add your own measure.

Ordered last night 3 fish suppers 2 chicken suppers. Chips dry, batter chewy. Won't be going back.

Absolute rip off of a chippy £6.50 for a sausage supper with hardly any chips and no sauce not value for money.

Expensive and horrible would not recommend this place.

Food was rotten. Customer service was even worse. 0 effort at a resolution from staff. Total waste of time and money.

Always good - pizzas are larger, cheaper and way tastier than any Domino's or Pizza Hut.

The chips were cold and dry. The curry sauce i wouldnt even call it that as it was more like water as it was tasteless.

I usually come to this chippy frequently and think their stuff is lovely. However tonight I was served by the blonde woman who wears glasses and is usually on FOH. She was extremely rude when serving the food when I asked for paper in between the chips and sausage and rolled her eyes at me and was mouthing stuff under her breath . She also huffed her breath. I will not be returning.

Good food, friendly staff and generaly fast service. Be aware there is a charge when you pay by card so take cash if possible 😉

Have ordered from them for years. Never again. Ignored complaint about disgusting off fish, horrible food and they will never get our custom again because of their ignorance.

Received my delivery, very disappointed as the batter was like trying to chew through rubber..Upon phoning, I was informed it was freshly made, also there was nothing they could do...I wasn't wanting a freebie, but a little customer service would have been nice....I order this every time and the batter is usually amazingly crispy, so not happy....one way to lose custom...

Came here years ago and enjoyed the food so came back as I was in the area. Still great food. Very clean and modern, and well thought out corporate image. Great chippy 👍

I have always been really impressed with Gerrys speed of service and usually always happy with the quality of food. However on my last 2 occasions of ordering I have had to phone to chase the order. The first time after an hour the order was on it's way. Tonight I waited for an hour and 10 mins before I phoned to be told that it would be another half hour for a pie supper and bag of chips. Come on guys what is going on! I therefore cancelled only to be told it would be 7 to 10 days before my card would be refunded. Not impressed..I'm afraid you may have just lost a customer ☹.

Just got 2 king rib suppers deliverd and they were terrible, straight in the bin. Very poor looks like i need to find new chippy.

Fish was OK, not that great. Had chicken which was nice. Chicken tikka was also good. Just a little bit on the expensive side. But had a good selection and I can definitely visit again...

Best special fish we have ever tasted!

I have not been too Gerry's in a while and now I remember why, ordered 3 rolls only received one and we ordered french fries and cheese your lucky if a quarter of the chips had cheese on them. For the prices they charge it should be perfect quality and consistency

Went for an early fish supper and was sorely disappointed the normally high standards dropped considerably fish like leather and chips warm and unedible

My husband usually has the fish supper, but wanted to try the special fish, this had went up quite significantly in price, when it arrived, it. Was well overcooked, burned brown bread crumbs, the breading was solid, totally overcooked and burnt, it was barley edible, the fish was also overcooked, there was more burnt breading on the fish, than there was fish. Never again.... most expensive item on the fish bar menu, what a disappointment and waste of money 😫

Ordered chicken kebab and the salad was sour phoned up to complain had the phone put down on me after being told there was nothing could be done about it. Took it back to the shop owner gerry wouldn't even look or smell the meal telling us nothing was wrong with it bad customer service speaking to customers like that. Be aware that if there is something wrong with your food that you have paid good money for gerry certainly won't do anything about it. Told us we were scum to get out his shop and not to come back while swearing. This arrogant man needs to learn customer service with the business he's in

Lovely pizzas, definitely recommend this place.

We had been given the wrong order when calling about this I was told there is nothing I can do as it’s my fault for not saying the right thing! And hung the phone up. I opened the pizza to find a handful of chips under the pizza so my partner called back and was hit with verbal abuse over the phone by one of the staff and she hung the phone up on him. When he called back the manager I assume Gerry? Again began shouting and told us to go elsewhere. I have never experienced such bad customer service in my life and I can assure you we will be going elsewhere from now on.

we are regulars at Gerry's. The service and level of abuse from the manager ( gerry himself) over the telephone, only called to find out were our delivery was after waiting an hour in a half, he hung up on us 3 times and wouldn't allow me to cancel the order and give us our money back, so basically if i refuse the delivery we are out of pocket. Customer service absolutely shocking.

It was a nice...warm...friendly atmosphere where we feel like Come Again......thanks for such a beautiful staff and delicious food.

I am a regular customer, tonight me and my partner just wanted a few things too share. Ordered a pizza with chicken and pepperoni only to taste we assume the chicken laced with barbecue sauce or spoon sharing between sauces? We ordered chips and cheese also, no option for French fry chips which used to be there or an option for mozzarella or cheddar also. We got chippy chips with about 6 chips with cheddar on them!!!! Waste of what I had ordered

Ordered cheeseburger and chips with salt and vinegar. There was no cheese on burger and no salt and vinegar on chips. Not a happy customer. Woman at chip shop said have you not got cheese and salt and vinegar at home then she said she could send me a slice of cheese and a bag with salt and vinegar in it and that's all she could do and then hung up on me. Not good at all.

Just got a near £9 chicken kebab. Wasnt nice at all. Chicken was tough and rubbery like, not like fresh chicken. Salad was nice just as well! Must have chosen to use cheap cuts as its usually nice.

I have been a regular customer for a long time and would normally recommend gerrys to everyone but if you are making a order on the phone make sure the person on the other end nose what they are doing as a few times thay have had my order rong and thay sould give there drivers a enough money as well expecly wen you get rong order and thay cant give you the right change

Avoid this place.. The Fish they tried to give me was burnt! I asked for another but it was also burnt. The nice lady serving me said she would look for a fresher one, but before she could the owner told me to get out and gave me my money back. Obviously on his period and couldn't care less about customer service.

Just ordered 2 fish suppers and a two litre bottle of coke for delivery. Fish suppers went in the bin, batter was like chewy rubber. Bottle of coke was one of those small individual ones we paid £2.40 for that! Can honestly say it’s the worst fish supper I’ve ever had, not that I ate much of it!!!

I’m a regular customer at Gerry’s, never had a problem until tonight!!!I spent over £50 on an order, only for 2 items to wrong. The manager actually told me I didn’t order what I know I did! Returned food & asked for what I had ordered they refused to, meaning 2 people didn’t get any dinner tonight. And I’m out of pocket as no one will eat the food. Shocking service & I nor anyone in my group WILL EVER be back again.

Just order fish supper and 2lt bottle of coke (£2.40) when collected it was no 2lt bolltes would have to take 1.5lt bottle for the same price (£2.40) when I complained arsewipe behind counter snatch it away from me and said he doesn't need F'ing customers like me.Explains why the once busy shop is now empty

So disappointing Fish supper soggy and loaded with Grease,Chicken pakora overdone solid as a brick and so inedible,Bag of chips soggy, congealed together was like a greasy cloth, probably didn’t help the delivery was 25 minutes late Waste of £24Food absolutely diabolical but fine if you like a pile of GREASEbest about it salad and even that was bland and tasteless

Phoned an order for pickup and stood for 25 mins in shop after pick up time before I got it not happy got home and it was look warm due to it sitting so long before I got it an sorry doesn't cut it for 28 quids worth of food standin waitin for it or eatin it warm

Very good fish and chips! 🙂 But ... Recently I ordered ribs and spring rolls and I was very disappointed. Ribs are not ribs, but minced meat in batter. Spring Rolls is a rolled-up pancake stuffed with some cabbage stuffing. I am so disappointed 😕 Money badly spent

Over 1 hour 15 mins for a king rib and curry spring rolls which weren’t cooked right and the rib was freezing!!!was gony send it back but just binned it won’t be back went right down hill the last 6 months 👎

Hideous food. How difficult is it to ensure the batter on the fish is cooked. Breaded fish should not be burnt and rock hard. Vegetable pakora lacking taste and vegetables; chicken pakora greasy and chips tasting like yesterday's reheats. Not fresh, not tasty, not acceptable. To top it all, we never even got all of the order, even after checking by having it read back whilst ordering! 0.5 out of 5

Absolutely disgusting calzone doe was not cooked properly it was full of grease the salad was full of water, will not be back don’t waste your money

I placed an order online and forgot to add juice to it, when I phoned to ask if I could add juice On to it the woman on the phone couldn’t get me off quick enough, I said I could pay cash when the driver arrived and the woman told me no that wasn’t possible. Food out of gerrys is fantastic but maybe some employees need a lesson on customer service.

£11.99 for a munchy box that wouldnt even feed a 5 year old, wont be back, your attitude when i phoned would have got you a slapping if it were in person!
