In reality I would put zero stars. This restaurant is a scam. I was following a low FODMAP diet prescribed by a nutritionist to help with a lot of digestive issues I have. As soon as I left the restaurant my abdomen was swollen triple in size. I felt so ill, bloated and sore. My partner who doesn't have tummy issues was also bloated and sore. We can only assume that the reason was poor quality ingredients and improper cooking and/or handling of ingredients. Combined with astronomical prices for subpar dishes, this restaurant is downright predatory, taking advantage of those who don't have much choice or freedom when it comes to dining out due to their dietary restrictions. My partner ordered chicken tenders and onion rings, was given a tiny portion of each, felt sick afterwards, and was charged £25 for these items. I ordered a burger from the low FODMAP menu, which only necessitates a gluten free bun and no onion or garlic to be used. What I received was one of the worst burgers of my life, dry poor quality meat which was also charred and very poorly dressed. The chips had been fried in old or cross contaminated oil which is what I believe caused me to feel sick. All this for the lovely price of £25 as well. In summary, avoid like the plague.

Appreciate having 100% gluten free place. However, it is quite average taste and small portion food, with high prices. Wouldn’t prioritise if you don’t have serious allergies or so.

I had high hopes when my partner booked this place for my birthday. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. My partner had the pork dish, and had to ask for a steak knife as the meat was so dry and tough. I had the burger and swapped out the fries for the rosemary potatos. The bun was hard and dry and the burger was burnt. The potatoes were also dry and had no rosemary taste at all. The service charge was 12.5%, which we wouldn't have minded, but we had to wait ages to get someone's attention for the steak knife and ended up standing by the till to pay our bill as the staff were nowhere to be seen.

Started with a broken chair, not removed just swapped with next table, but chairs too low for dining. If you are a gluten free restaurant then the gluten free bits need to be good, olives soft, the focaccia was odd at best, gritty, under cooked, burger looked great, saw being delivered to another table, so ordered, the bun was inedible, burger tasteless, coleslaw good but 2 mouthfuls in a little pot, fries ok. On the plus point the bass was good, but you would hope so for grilled fish.

First time here and it's a cute place and pleasant, however was disappointed with the food. I'm a vegetarian, so my partner and I got both the veggie mains; gnocchi and the Glamorgan potato cake. I'm afraid they were bland and underwhelming. Really didn't enjoy either dish and was confused why the Glamorgan potato cake comes with a random large oily onion ring?? Anyway all lacked flavour IMO. The dessert was nice though. But this place is pricey, well certainly for what we got as thr veggie mains were just over £20 each. Perhaps the meat dishes are better?? who knows, but won't be returning

This was a lovely surprise on our trip to London earlier this year. My boyfriend found this place as I can’t have gluten - I’m always a bit worried that people accompanying me won’t enjoy their meal as much in places like this, but as they say, truly: you wouldn’t know it. We had burgers and they were very tasty, loved the bread. Lovely people, also great location. Would recommend!

I was very excited to try a Sunday roast here. My boyfriend ordered the beef and I ordered the lamb. It came with 1 teaspoon of gravy, minimal potato’s and carrots. The beef and lamb was full of fat, we probably had a total of 3 bites worth of meat each. We left feeling hungry still, which you shouldn’t after a roast. The Yorkshire pudding was really good though and the rest of their menu seems good too. The Sunday roast is not worth the money.

So first they forgot my drink. I had to ask to get it. The food came relatively quickly but the burger buns were burnt on me and my sister (see photo) and the pattie was completely burnt and dry even though I ordered it differently. I told the waitress that mine was burnt and she took it back to the kitchen (including my cutlery). I got my new portion very quickly (but my ColeSlaw salad was exactly the same (half empty). The new burger bun was okay but the meat was overcooked again. As mentioned above the waitress took my cutlery so now I had no cutlery and had to look for a waitress again to be able to eat. The bill came very quickly but we weren't asked how we wanted to pay and the waitress ran off again straight away. We still had to pay the service charge despite the poor quality. To summarise, I expected something better for the price. I would not recommend going there. I can not say how the ambiente was inside because we sat outside of the restaurant.

I ate here last week and was looking forward to it due to every item on the menu being gluten free. The plus points were that the staff are great and really know how to treat solo diners. Also the sourdough bread was excellent and there was a great selection of gluten free beers. On the downside, my main was really just ok. The fries in particular did not justify the cost and overall the bill was much higher than was warranted by the quality of the food. Overall it was decent and a relief to feel that I could eat with confidence without worrying about becoming ill from cross-contamination. Also very convenient for the Sadler's Wells theatre.

I'd love to be able to rate this higher, I'd been looking forward to visiting Niche since I found out about it. Me and my partner ordered diffrent things with the intention of sharing everything so we could try as much as possible. We started with the sourdough bread for the table. Along with the 'NFC' basket and the chedder and parmasan doughnuts. To put it simply thr doughnuts are one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. Ever before being diagnosed celiac. And my partner who can eat muggle food would agree. The sourdough bread was also incredible, ive not seen a slice of bread without massive airpockets for two years (if you know you know) the 'NFC' basket was very much just okay. It was nice to be able to eat fried chicken at a restaurant but i wouldn't order it again. For mains I had the pot pie which was labeled on the menu as "a real treat for celiacs" i cant put in to words how excited I was to have a good pie at a restaurant. The absolute disappointment that slapped across my face when I was given a shepereds pie, in a pot..... And not even a good one at that. It was a layer of mashed potato covering a lake of watery gravy hiding 2 sad bits of lamb. I'm still trying to work out what the treat was supposed to be 🤔 And my partner ordered the NFC burger This looked amazing when it was brought out, after having a bite, the burger was cremated beyond belief. I'm honestly supprised it made it out the kitchen. If I was to come back I'd just order the starters I cant fathom how they are so good but the mains are so bad, unless they had a staff change half way through the night it simply dosnt make sense. Id of loved to give this 5 stars as I said I've been excited to vist this place for about a year, travelling all the way from Nottingham to vist. I really wish the pie was what I expected 😅 Again, not a total disappointment the cheese doughnuts are worth the trip alone 🫠

I had high hopes but unfortunately was left disappointed with the food. We had NFC basket as a starter to share. The portion was small, overly salty and sauces not flattering. I have to be honest to say Nando's gf chicken nuggets are much tastier. I had to send back Camembert to the oven because it was half baked. The bread aside was great tasting though. It did lack something sweet aside to my palate. My partner had pork as a main. I was not convinced the potatoe mash wasn't made of flakes? I had the steak which was ok but both mains were very salty to our taste. The desserts were not what we expected at all. The ice cream had ice crystals in it and the vanilla one did not taste of fresh cream. The millionaire cheesecake did not taste or feel like a cheesecake at all. The caramel sauce had a slimy consistence. Only the biscuit bottom was nice. Oh, and the PREMIUM orange juice was just a normal cheap juice made of concentrate. The waiters were nice, the room itself pleasant but the air ventilator made lots of noise and the toilet needs some serious renovation. I am not meaning to be harsh but it was just my experience. I can see a lot of people have enjoyed it. Would not return unfortunately although the idea of a fully gf restaurant is great.

The food is really bad, honestly I do not understand these 5 star reviews that it's the best gluten free restaurant in London and the food is amazing. All 4 main courses were sent back because they were all tasteless and/or cold and/or overcooked. I won't be coming back, I don't see the point. We visited Niche today as a family of 6 - 4 adults and 2 children (ages 4 and 2). It’s a tiny place but our buggy just fit into a corner. They’re not really setup for young children but were friendly about them being there. The food for the kids is really limited and the quality of the beef burger was poor - no seasoning and extremely well done. The kids food also doesn’t come with any sides, so it was a plain burger with a rasher of bacon on the top. The burger was much more for older children as it was a giant burger and bun. The adults food was mixed - starters were excellent. Mains were mixed, some really great others overcooked and dry. The service was friendly but they’re not the kind of place that checks the meals are alright or if you want another bottle of wine. The options for people with gluten issues is incredible and the food doesn’t taste like typical gf food. There’s also a lot for people with dairy issues. We really appreciated that. All in all a nice spot.

It was a really rather bizarre experience. The waiter was absolutely lovely, full credit to him. The cocktail with elderflower was delicious. But...the food. Oh lordy. I've never seen anything so greasy in my life! Everything was saturated in oil. The potatoes were overcooked and so oily, broccoli covered in oil and loads of chilli and garlic. So much seasoning on everything. The Caesar salad was saturated in dressing. It's such a shame and I don't know why they do this? Surely lots of food is naturally gf and should be prepared simply and rely on quality ingredients. It's almost like they feel they have to overcompensate. Like gf food is boring and plain so they try and add too much fat and flavouring. Also the use of plant butters on some dishes made little sense when the dish contains meat. The butter topping on the schnitzel was horrendous. It tasted like cheap margarine that's gone off! So, sadly we won't be back. My celiac friend felt the same. The potential is there but I think they need to lighten the ingredients and try not to be too many things. Why offer plant butters etc? Sure, have a vegan dish like most places do. But it just adds to the confusion.

Chosen to impress a gluten free friend on there visit to London with a Sunday roast. We were both extremely disappointed. Both the beef and lamb were over cooked and poor quality. Most of the veg was undercooked and cold. The Yorkshire pudding was flat and very doughy. Not proper roast potatoes but undercooked roast new potatoes. The gravy was flavourless and almost ironically floury consistancy. Thankfully there wasn't much of it. The place seemed understaffed and fully booked with many turned away at the door. This was one of the worst Sunday roasts ive had. For the price and hype i expect a lot more. If you are after a great gluten free roast i would call round reknowned establishments, many of which now offer gluten free. As in most cases it is only the stuffing, gravy and Yorkshire pudding that should contain gluten.

Kind of cozy place, seemed very popular since a lot of people were denied a table. A bit on the expensive side which seemed to be more because of the relief you'd get when you know you can eat everything on the menu. Rather than paying a premium for the food quality. I took a mushroom pie and I think I got 3-4 thick slices of mushroom. The pie was mostly lentils and some leeks. We had great hope for the restaurant after a nice starter. It could be the mistake of trying British food. It was a bland lunch. Could consider giving it a second chance if we are back in London and live nearby. Side not: for some reason, one of the staff was aggressively cleaning and restocking the shelves throughout lunch. So we regularly heard loud banging. Which disturbed the atmosphere.

We had a great time at Niche and were thrilled to eat at a fully gluten-free restaurant. The staff were very kind and attentive. Not a long wait on food but a reservation was required the day we went as it was very busy. The food was good but not great. It is quite pricey but that is expected with gluten-free foods. We still left happy and full.

Really amazing food (easy to forget it’s gluten free it’s so good!) especially the Parmesan donuts. Also the staff is incredible - they rushed to help a person who fell on the pavement outside the restaurant, called him an ambulance, and got him some water. Really sweet people.

Finally on a FODMAP exclusion diet I could actually relax in a dining environment and eat a decent 3 course meal. Meant alot.

Fabulous that this place even exists in the first place. Really amazing selection of gluten-free food, and even better, they have a selection of low FODMAP dishes! Staff really nice, and the place has a great ambience. Only thing preventing us from coming back more regularly are the prices...

I am sure you read it is dedicated Gluten-Free with other allergens listed, vegetarian and vegan options available. I got the elderflower cordial and the berry compote. Both lovely, well presented, and delicious. I paid by card. A lovely place with lovely service.

Incredible food, great staff and very accommodating menu. This place is perfect for anyone with allergens or dietary requirements. I would highly recommend to anyone - I had a lovely evening! Side note - the focaccia was the best bread I’ve ever had.

Terrible customer service, I bet they are full so they domt need to make the effort. I was not able to eat here. The place had empty tables and the waiter told me that it was fully booked. I ask for tables outside and he says outside I can only order drinks. Alternative, I offer the possibility of staying less time in one of the booked tables, I would be ok with just 15 min of he has in some table. He refuses sayibg it is closed for accepting meals and I can try see a booking at 5 pm, in three hours. Later I ask if I can take some fries to take away as an alternative as I am starrving, I am gluten intolerant and came exclusively here, and he say they dont do take away. Great service.

Love this place, 100% gluten free menu is amazing. The only down side was we were placed in a corner which isn't the same as the main restaurant bit... I get it but it's just a bit squashed up for two... as a walk in fine, but we booked well in advance so was a shame as this is an annual treat for me 😅on the plus side the food was amazing, it was just a bit of jenga on the table 😅

Food over priced, very poor customer service and even worse the food was terrible. Billed as an experience for coeliac sufferers, it's was ..... Just Not in the way we hoped.never again will we go back. Then we get an email we cancelled and didn't attend and would be charged again ! Utter Disgrace.

I found this place while looking for a place to eat alone. There are many gluten-free and vegan menus and the taste is good. I had wild mushroom gnocchi and a glass of white wine. If I come alone, they show me a place that is not crowded and is good for eating alone.

Excellent GF bread! Menu was a bit random and not super cohesive - got bad stomach ache after dining from the Mac & cheese. However good wine. As a gluten free person i probably would not recommend.

The restaurant was a fantastic find! Our daughter suffers from celiac disease and in this restaurant she was able to eat anything without worrying. The cuisine is impeccable in terms of taste and presentation. The flavors are very good. The staff is very friendly! Thanks!

Reservation time at 7:45 p.m. When we arrived it was full. We left the last, at 10:00 p.m., when there was no one left in the place. Very slow service. We waited 45 minutes for them to take the order. The first dish arrived 50 minutes after we had eaten the focaccia and complaining to the waitress because it was taking too long. The lamb was very good, but the Caesar salad was returned because it was only lettuce with sauce and the cheese they said they had put was 2 sheets. The gnocchi were flavorless and the waitress, upon telling her that they had no flavor, recommended adding salt... the dish was taken away without having been eaten, as was the salad. They passed the bill with the dishes we had returned, but they discounted the salad after we claimed it. Tables very close to the other diners, little privacy and a lot of noise. Dirty unisex bathroom. They cleaned it by telling them that the water did not drain from the cistern nor was there paper to dry their hands. Summary: disappointing. Such positive reviews do not honor reality

I cannot applaud Niche for doing more than what they are already doing! I stumbled onto this gem and I'm so glad they had table space for me on a Tuesday night because the place was full! And now I know why! I ordered the NFC because I can't remember the last time I had fried chicken. When I say it was good, hear me. It was amazing! Crispy, crunchy, full of flavor and the sauces reminded me of childhood trips to KFC in the states. MmmmMmmm! For the mains I ordered the Glamorgan Potato cake with onion rings and grilled vegetables. The presentation alone was gorgeous and the food tasted so good I thought I died. When I saw Pastel de nata on the dessert list as I sat down, I knew exactly what I was getting. I could never find them in Portugal gluten free and here they were!! So tasty, so sweet, so custardy. I got mine for take away and wish I'd ordered two. Highly recommend. The menu is seasonal and I await the next menu change with excitement. Also recommend making a reservation online before showing up but they do accept walk-ins, if space available.

Truly excellent service today when the maitre d’ noticed us wishing happy birthday to our adult daughter on arrival and, without saying anything, added a little candle to her dessert. This was on top of highly professional service throughout - attentive but not over-bearing. Oh, and the food’s good too. The beef broth is particularly recommended and all the desserts were yummy, from the pear sorbet with vodka to the bread pudding with butterscotch sauce.

This was my second visit to meat people, the first a few years back and it was great. Unfortunately this time round not so. Service wasn't great, maybe they were short staffed, I'm not sure. We both had ribeye, it was very disappointing. Such a shame.

The most awful food i have ever had. We ordered 2 chicken and cheese baguettes and the man serving went in using no gloves. The chicken he used seemed left over. When we saw he used his bare hands my sister changed her order to cheese baguette only. He then wore gloves. I took my chicken and cheese baguette and it was the most awful thing i had ever tasted. We went to ask for a refund after tasting the sandwich, they refused our money back, and lied about using gloves. Avoid at all costs. Do not go. Do not waste your money. Very rude customer service.

Wonderful place. On the smaller side but that just makes it seem "cosier". The beer selection was fantastic and varied and the regulars all seemed like perfectly nice people. Staff friendly and talkative. I did not eat but the kitchen looked fantastic too
