Ocean Bangladeshi Restaurant And Takeaway in Waltham Forest

Food was absolutely 10/10 and staff were all lovely . But it’s not for a family , we went in with our 6 month old son and asked for a high chair , but they don’t provide high chairs so me and my partner had to take in turns holding our son while trying to eat our meal also . Its no issue they didn’t have high chairs but we did ring up to book and I mentioned “ 2 adults and a baby “ And we weren’t warned of the high chair situation or I’d have brought his pram in. Was just a shame

We dined here this evening 27/9/24 with friends for the first time. We were very impressed from the initial welcome until leaving. The food was excellent, the prices of the starters and main courses were very reasonable and the Jaipur especially was delicious. We will definitely be dining here again very soon and highly recommend the Ocean restaurant.

Tonight we ordered Mixed Kebab starter, Chicken Biryani and Welsh Lamb Bhuna. This was superb. The meal was ready on time. The staff were polite and efficient. We recommend.

First Time I have tried Ocean Bdeshi!!! It will be my last! I understand that food is not always hot enough when you have it delivered. That's easily sorted. But after spending £44.00 I really expected the food to be edible . Tandoori Chicken starter , Im not sure if it actually saw a Tandoor, It was dry and flavourless no vibrancy at all. An Ocean Platter starter for two? What the hell it was Im unsure. The Chicken Pakora was a flat Squidgy bland piece of unpalatable something, certainly not a Pakora as I understand aPakora to be ! Onion Bhajee , a lump of soggy batter, stuffed full of soggy onions , no spice or flavour, Prawn Bhajee , no its was bullet hard prawns wrapped in a soggy car floor mat of a pancake like thing! Not sure what a Hopper is but if its a soggy spring roll , its more of a flop than a Hopper. Starters that bad we have not eaten our main meal of Chicken Tikka Massala and a Chicken Razala!! Gonna give it a go tomorrow ,, curries usually taste better the next day in my view !! Heres hoping! I will add the mains review after trying tomorrow . Oh well you live and learn , maybe the food is better eat in as the reviews seem oddly okay ?? Andy

Had a fantastic meal at Ocean. It really is worthwhile taking a look at the signature dishes on offer, as opposed to just ordering your "usual" main course. Can really recommend the Bombay Makhani, an amazing spiced chicken tikka and mushroom dish, which has a medium heat. Absolutely delicious! The papadums and naan breads are amazing too, so light The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the service was absolutely impeccable. A superb dining experience. Heartily recommended!

What a fantastic restaurant...deserved of 5 stars...and more! Two of us had Chom Chom with coconut rice which was gorrrgeos! My son had Lamb Tika Masala, Sagg Paneer and Keema Pilau rice...and he was in heaven...saying it was delicious. The service was spot on, very friendly, polite and chatty. We will be back definitely...very very impressed.

First time back since new owners. Can't fault the new restaurant. It has a 'grown up' vibe. Also it was warm! Always found old place a bit cold. Staff were brilliant and very courteous. More importantly the food was excellent. Can't wait to come back again and introduce more friends

Ordered a delivery on Friday using Wrexham Eats and have been wanting to leave a review ever since, so figured I’d take to TripAdvisor! I had a lamb madras and chicken jalfrezi, keema rice and meat samosas - I like to order a selection so can have a little of each curry and freeze the rest! The madras was super tasty, similar in quality to some of the other Indian restaurants in the area, but the write-home (or write-TripAdvisor!!!) dish was the jalfrezi. I’ve tended to stay away from jalfrezi as they are often over packed with green pepper and onion (and pretty light on the meat!) but this was by far the nicest jalfrezi I have ever tasted, full of this incredible flavour, perfect level of spice, and plenty of meat. My new favourite delivery, highly recommend (and I can’t wait for my leftover meal to be defrosted for this weekend!)

We have visited this restaurant a number of times both to eat in and take away and we have consistently been served with excellent, incredibly tasty starters, curries, sides and desserts. The service is always absolutely excellent and the welcome you get is always appreciated - friendly, efficient and prompt. It would be great to see more people booking a table here and supporting a local gem. It is our go to Indian restaurant in the Wrexham/Flintshire area.

We came here for a family meal on a Friday night. It was really, really good. Recommend the lamb Bhuna! Staff were lovely too. Highly recommend.

Amazing food, fantastic service and drinks, spotlessly clean restaurant and toilets, you won't get better in the area. Lots of choice, full of flavour, some different choices, so fresh and delicious. We love an Indian and have tried them all in Wrexham and the surrounding areas and Ocean is by far the best in our opinion - venture out of Wrexham Town centre and try here, it's honestly so good! We have visited twice now as a family with our 2 children and the staff are so friendly and really good with the children which is an added bonus for us. We will not go anywhere else for an Indian from now on. 10/10 - thank you for a lovely meal yet again, we will be back !

Beautiful food, always good service. We've eaten inside and ordered as takeaway. No issues. A great addition to the area.

I wasn’t going to bother writing a review but the more time goes on the more am annoyed and upset about what happened. I have recently moved to wrexham and since moving here we struggled to find a nice Indian restaurant, we finally found that with this place and we we’re happy with the food and ordered from them on several occasions, I do have to say the food was always nice however nothing could have prepared me for what happened when we ordered from there last. Sat 22/04/23 at around 9 pm I had put my daughter to bed (10 months old) it was late we had been out all day and by the time I got the baby asleep we couldn’t be bothered to cook so we decided to order from here, when speaking to the guy on the phone I explained I was ringing from a different number that I usually ring from so to please call that number instead of the one that was saved on my original details, the gut replied no problem we will call this number when outside. I was then upstairs with the baby trying to settle her back asleep and my partner with me and we heard banging on the door so I jumped up and ran to the door and to my surprise there were 3 people standing at my door, the delivery guy, a woman and a child so I was baffled I didn’t understand why there was also a woman and child standing at my door. I apologised to the delivery guy and explained I didn’t hear him knock from upstairs as I was getting the baby to sleep to which this woman starts screaming at me on my door step saying they had been knocking in my door for ages and that she was disgusted with people like me, so I replied with I asked the restaurant for you to call when outside but i dont have any missed calls and low and behold they had been trying to call the number I had asked them not to! Things then got really heated as this random woman was raising her voice as my child was asleep in bed, i had absolutely no idea who she was but she was hurling abuse at me and I felt very unsafe at this point so I ran to get my partner before handing over the money and locked my front door and asked my partner to come down incase anything happened. The delivery guy then explained to me he didnt know who she was and that the restaurant had asked him to take her home as she was drunk and arguing with her partner in the restaurant. I rang and spoke to the restaurant to explain what happened and they did apologise however they didn’t try and even compensate me in anyway shape or form and for that I am honestly disgusted and will never go back here again! There was nothing to keep me as a customer so for that reason you will never get my custom again and I hope I never come across that vile horrible woman ever again in my life!

It was fantastic food .the tase was outstanding .the waiters are very friendly .i am highly recommend to visit this restaurant

Just thought I’d pop a review on here as I want to say thanks for a truly lovely takeaway on Friday night. I ordered chicken tikka shashlik and a tikka masala, with the usual bajee, pilau rice, pop and naan - can’t say enough how delicious it was. It also arrived when it was supposed to and the bloke was really friendly too. Will order again soon - thanks so much! 😘👌xx

On both occasions the food we had was wonderful. Ranging from the poppadum's and chutneys through the onions bhaji's to chicken korma, chicken sagwalla and chicken mango rose with amazing sides of aloo matar paneer and tarka dhal and pilau tice and scrumptious naan bread and plain paratha. All had beautifully cooked meats moist and tasty with luscious sauces flavoured well and so very tasty. All fresh and well prepared as were all the dishes. I don't think I've had poppadum's and paratha that were as tasty as these ever before. We are very much looking forward to our next visit and exploring more or the menu this wonderful restaurant has to offer with it's friendly staff who are very willing to talk through dishes we have not come across before.

Absolutely delicious! I really hope they can keep up this standard of food as we will definitely be very regular customers. Best takeaway we have had for a very long time.
