There was an issue with the system when we first ordered on the app which caused a delay, but staff were very friendly and quick to make things right (offered free shots without us asking) and the service was immaculate after that. There was a deal on which made everything fantastic value. Thanks!

Came here with my family for Christmas drinks, drinks menu said they were 2 for 1 on cocktails. As I was driving I choose to have a mocktail and my mum had a cocktail, when I looked at the menu it doesn’t specify that it has to be only alcoholic or the same drink. Just that it’s 2 for 1 all day everyday. When it came to paying I had paid for £26 for pineapple juice and a pornstar martini, I asked if it wasn’t 2 for 1 as shown on the menu and was asked if I just wanted another one however by this time I’d waited a good while to have these drinks prepared and the some staff just stood round looking like they’d had better days. We were disappointed

Don't know what the barmaid was doing I'm surprised it wasn't self service the amount time she took to serve us when she did it consisted of a pint of young rebel ipa and a pint of asahi which in her favour were poured to perfection

Absolutely shocking service asked for a glass of water for a friend, barman wouldn’t serve me a GLASS OF WATER. All in all shocking service bouncer was slightly racist (Mike) will not return hope it gets shut down as several people in the toilet doing drugs in the open man selling aftershave etc didn’t care. Think he took a back hand payment to keep quiet…

Came for my Christmas do with a large group. No issues at all with some having bottomless brunch and others not due to not drinking. Cannot fault them at all. Food was good as well as the alcohol, in particular the cocktails. Big thanks to: Theo and Callum kitchen staff Mike and Owen serving staff

We had the £6 food and drink deal before 4pm. The menu had a good choice and the food was lovely for the price. For an extra £2 you can choose an alcoholic drink from the menu. Definitely recommend this place

It's a great example when it's busy it's doing well. The atmosphere was lively. But this experience was a surprise. My friend made this a reservation to have a meal here. So it was reserved for 2 hours, so exchanged presents. But to everyone's surprised when we came to order food. We were told there was a 2 hour wait. Wasn't told prior in advance, safe to say, wasn't hanging around. Had plans else where later on so left. Ended up leaving me present as well. I was really disappointed. I had high hopes to see what your palettes had to offer.

We had bottomless brunch yesterday with friends the lovely Em couldn't do enough for us as soon as she see our drinks going low she was there ..Highly recommend this place our friends had got engaged and and Em brought out balloons and cake for them had a great time thanks Em for an excellent service.also the food was amazing great value will definitely be going again..

Best bottomless in Chester! Lottie was our host and was everything and more with what you want from a bottomless. Lottie was extremely attentive, we never had an empty glass (next round was taken before we’d even finished our drinks) and the food portions were perfect. The best value for money and an amazing selection of drinks. We will definitely be back and recommending to all our friends!!!

Full of teenagers 18 years old in groups. Doing drungs and smoking in side the building door staff dont to care about what's going on to busy on there phones I felt like the oldest one there at the age of 30 myself. Will go for drinks elsewhere myself

Did not eat took ages to get our drinks bar made walked off after serving someone... Very loud could not talk to each other with out shouting not music it was the TVs fine if you are under 21 but stay away if you are looking for a place to eat drink and chat

I recently visited Off the wall on what was advertised as "student night," but my experience was far from enjoyable. The first hurdle was the shocking security at the door, which seemed more focused on excluding students from Bangor than ensuring a fun atmosphere for all. It was baffling to see how strict the bouncers were, specifically targeting Welsh Bangor students while allowing Chester students to enter seemingly without question. Once I made it inside, I was struck by how quiet the place was and no students were in sight. There was hardly anyone there, and it became clear that the atmosphere was not one of excitement or camaraderie, but rather exclusion and condescension. To make matters worse, the atmosphere was tainted by the behaviour of the staff. Many employees, were rude and dismissive, showing little regard for customer service. As if that wasn’t enough, I overheard some completely unacceptable comments made by the security staff, including derogatory remarks aimed at women. It was shocking to witness such behaviour in a public setting, especially when those who are meant to ensure safety resort to name-calling. When I asked one of the bouncers for their badge number to report the incident, they refused to provide it, which raised alarms about their accountability. Things escalated further when my friend was falsely accused of using racial language—an accusation which not only had no basis but was also deeply troubling. In an attempt to resolve this, the police were called, but by then, the bouncer named Conner had vanished, leaving me feeling unsupported and bewildered. Attempting to reach someone in a position of authority proved fruitless. All staff members I approached were laughing and smirking as I asked to speak to someone in charge. They outright refused to give their names or address the issues at hand, further demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and respect. In summary, my visit was marred by poor treatment, unfounded accusations, and a disheartening atmosphere. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment, especially on student nights. It’s a shame, as bars should be a place to connect and enjoy, not a venue for exclusion and hostility. Save your time and money—there are far better options out there that actually value their clientele.

Quiet lunch time visit midweek. Recently refurbished, lovely site, clean & friendly staff & part of the Stonegate group. Use the MIXr app, highly recommended to all. Points make money. Situated perfectly for walk around Chester historic walls or the city centre. A must see visit for all. £6 lunch menu, meal & drink. Super 👌 Nearest carport. NCP at back of site.

Em, Mike, Callum and Theo were fantastic! The food was brilliant and the service was fantastic and our server even laughed at mum’s jokes (which aren’t great) it was a fabulous bottomless brunch for my brother in laws birthday!

Adding this review as massive credit and thankyou to one for your security staff for assisting me after I fell and broke my leg outside the property this weekend. Took my phone, updated my partner and was there by my side until paramedics took me away, top man and top human being, thankyou so much pal know who you are.

We had the bottomless brunch, which was great quality for money, the cocktails and food were delicious, especially the BBQ wings. Definitely recommend for a fun outing, thank you to all the staff who made it a great night.

Went in for the bottomless brunch yesterday and it was mega really nice wings, taste drinks and nice staff would definitely recommend

3pm in the afternoon. Ordered a wine and soda and straight away knew there was something wrong with the drink. 🤮. Not sure if it was the glass or soda. The wine was straight out of the bottle so ok. Got a strange taste in my mouth and on my lips. Gave it straight back and said something didn't taste right. It was like a cleaning fluid / chemical taste. I did get a replacement wine but didn't want soda. Two hours later, I can still taste it on my lips and tongue. The mens/ ladies' toilets were also disgusting. Wet through floors, soiled toilets, wet soggy tissue round sink area. Did not use. Last cleaned 8pm the night before. Reported to staff. Will not ever go in this bar again.

Disgusting , first try to poison us with a clearly contaminated drink which staff agreed was wrong and replaced with a fresh one but did nothing to rectify or prevent any one else being affected then when visited the toilets nearly threw up at the experience absolutely awful not been cleaned since 8pm the day before according to the record on the door , both ladies and gents were a health hazard award staff did nothing to rectify .. we left .... Top tip avoid this place and go to Red Door 50 yards up the road awesome service and standards of cleanliness..

As a family we came to Off The Wall for a small lunch or something little as a bite to eat. We decided on The Crowd Pleaser which is a sharing platter. It was absolutely delicious with enough food to fill us up for lunch and enough variety that the kids and us all enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and attentive, the venue is welcoming and looks great. When we are in the area again we will definitely be returning.

Tried to get into the bar last night after being to a wedding by the Dee. Familiar theme going on at this bar it seems. Door man refused entry for no reason. Think this bar needs to change its security staff because there obviously a issue

Came to watch f1 , booked a table in advance specially to watch a race. Not only they didn’t turn it for time for start of the race, staff needed to be asked couple of times for it and then they swapped channel in the middle of the race. Horrible experience

Refused entry calling the one person than didn't have a drink too drunk for entry

I gave an average score because we didn't eat but only drank. Of the many places in Chester, it's not the one that impressed me the most. The music wasn't bad, there were a few people dancing. For those who like football there are many screens to watch the matches In my opinion, this place is one of many, but not exceptional.

Ian and the rest of the team at Off The Wall are legends! Fast service, good banter, cheap pints, friendly and, always willing to help other venues out in their time of need. Thanks again guys, will definitely be coming back!

Food shocking! Scampi burnt beyond recognition

Meal prices increased significantly. A jacket potato instead of chips, £7. Asked for a salad instead of peas and tomatoes, with no dressing. Given a small side salad with brown lettuce, fried tomatoes and peas. The chicken was half the size it used to be (nicely cooked through). Very limited amount of bbq sauce and cheese. Bacon was predominantly fat. Disappointed

Was in today for drinks as visiting chester, this would not be the usual type of place i drink but was served by a young girl ellie and she was so lovely it actually made us stay for another. She was friendly and knowledgeable of chester a true credit to the bar.

Came her with my wife we are 40 years Old ! Been drinking in the day and alway vist this bar when we visit from Manchester. On returning at the night dressed smart and casual was told by the bouncer the my cargo pants was not Friday night dress code ! Been to multiple Venus in Chester “pop corn “ the church “ Not a single issue ! I think the bouncers are on some kind of power trip ! Absolutely pathetic

Really friendly staff made the visit that much more enjoyable. The dj was great playing all my fav songs was a great night all round 100% will be visiting again soon!

Amazing food for a good price. Staff who work there are brilliant and you get served quickly. Someone is always there if you need help. Good place to go to if you want to watch sport or just have a drink

Not long finished with my wife and in a downer. I stopped off for a few drinks and was served by Liv who was so friendly and talkative. I told her that I’d split with my wife and lost my dog and she took time to talk to me and cheer me up through the night

Off the Wall is always a great time, however they went above and beyond last time I was in when Ian saved my life when I was choking. He is a hero, I owe Ian and Off The Wall my life. Can’t wait to watch some more sports and not die here!
