Real Taste of India in Croydon

I had an amazing meal from Real Taste of India! The Chicken Kizhi Parotta was perfectly cooked and flavorful, the Jallikattu Mandhi was rich and aromatic, and the Chicken Kothu was a delightful blend of spices. The food quality was outstanding, and it arrived fresh and hot. The overall service was excellent, and the value for money was great. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine!

This is our go to place, Most sundays after church this is our favourite place to dine inThe food is really delicious, ambience is great, more dining space, especially if you come with kids they are very welcoming and great space. Definitely should visit here.

We visited all the way from outside London to visit Taste of India. Great customer service - all staff speaks Malayalam and English . Very clean and great ambience . Food is all prepared fresh, hot and really yummy. Highly recommend.

Good option for family get together and meeting friends with choice of south Indian food & drinks in Croydon on the main road

I've ordered a takeaway for my daughter, several weeks ago. We are regular customer to Real Taste of India restaurant and my daughter had this same dish many times before. But my daughter became extremely sick after eating the food, we tried to call the restaurant but no one answered. We called back the next day, and explained about the fact that my daughter became sick and vomiting badly after eating the food from their restaurant, I also explained that my daughter has severe allergies. We asked if they could check with the chef and see if the ingredients has been changed or something. But nobody bothered to come back to me. At least the restaurant should have offered a refund or something. Obviously they don't care about the customers. I'm very disappointed by this lack of service, and extremely displeased from the way this situation was "dealt" with.

A restaurant that truly lives upto its name. Authentic and absolutely scrumptious delicacies from Kerala, India. We tried the Mussels as well as the Squid Pepper fry which was truly delectable, fresh and perfectly cooked. The Kerala style King Prawns and the King Fish curries reminded us of the traditional coastal cuisine from the West Coast and South of India with lots of coconut and tamarind, best paired with steamed Basmati rice. The service was good right from beginning to end. Our server, Noble, was welcoming, attentive and helpful. Kudos to the team! Looking forward to our next visit!

I have been to Real taste of India number of times now and I’m really impressed with the food they serve which is very tasty and yummy. Additionally all the staffs are really welcoming and friendly especially ‘Noble’ who is very humble and hardworking gentleman. His approach is quite remarkable.

This place has become a regular hangout for us when we are in the area. Spacious seating, screens to occupy children and super friendly staff makes this place stand out. There is parking on premise that we will need to register in the restaurant when we walk in.

I was introduced to Chattichor for the first time with my partner on Diwali night. I really enjoyed it and the menu has so many other foods to try on future visits. Maria from Goa was a wonderful host and I look forward to going back again

I had Chattichore with my partner for the 1st time, and it was so amazing. It was bursting with flavours, and each mouthful had its own unique taste.

Yesterday I order kadai paneer and paneer butter masala or paneer tikka something but taste was very bad , and specially for Kadai paneer there were only oil and water in gravy , even we can’t imagine how much is bad. 0/5 and in paneer tikka also same very bad sabjii it was 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

The food was very worth the price, one plate alone of the full meals were fit for two people. The service was very nice, the workers were very polite and incredibly helpful. Very much recommend!

Waited more than half an hour for my meal.Really really bad service from an Indian restaurant in London that I had never seen. Fish curry was very salty. I told them that my fish curry is salty and even the they were not ready to replace it. After 10 minutes I was about finish that ruined meal then that person came and offered me to replace it. Really disappointed with customer service.

Very bad service🤮. I can't express how embarrassed I was in front of my colleagues from another country. Three of us ordered chattichoru, but one of them was served without fish and egg. We informed them and they gave it. Then, the chicken roast inside was frozen—not just cold, but actually frozen. Again we informed them, and they gave us a new chattichoru after 15–20 minutes. The washing area was horrible, and there was a bad smell coming from the toilet, which ruined our appetite. You really need to improve your service and hygiene. My colleagues were really excited to try Kerala food, but now they've decided they'll never visit a Kerala restaurant again. Thanks👎

Today after a heavy duty we decided to eat from taste of india and we were totally disappointed. We ordered kappa and fishcurry and chicken biriyani. Also gulab jamun with icecream as desert. It took literally 35 minutes to bring the food and kappa was not at all tasting good, seems and tasted like dried kappa.Gulab jamun also felt like not ordinary taste. We really felt bad, spending money and expecting atleast average quality food.

Expected a bit more, when entered inside the restaurant. Food and ambience was pretty decent enough. Service could have been better, main reason being limited manpower. This restaurant is good to entertain family crowds and gathering.

We went there with a group of 4 for inam sadhya. The food was very delicious, there were 40 items on the menu (I haven't counted it, saying 40 as that's what they said over the posters) It was served in a very traditional manner over the banana leaf. Traditionally we were supposed to eat by hand but I am not comfortable with the hand and the restaurant was kind enough and provided us with the spoons. It was an amazing experience and I would like to try this again. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone who hasn't tried sadhya or who loves Indian food. Thanks to the restaurant staff for making it so amazing and memorable.

I recently had a chance to visit with my family for the Onam celebration meal (Sadhya). We had outstanding service not only from the owner but every staff member. The meal was unlimited, served with warmth and a smile. No holding back on the quality of ingredients. I'm looking forward to my next trip and trying their other items on the menu.

Been a few times last twice had the lamb malabar dish and basmati rice takeaway, really really tasty and right amount of spice. Packaging and presentation is top notch aswell neatly packed not messy and leaking. Will visit again and eat in.

Hands down the best Kerala food we have ever had in the UK. Starters and mains were equally good. Pal parotta is the personal favourite. Will definitely visit again. Also highly recommended.

The food was mediocre; I ordered chapati and a curry, but the vegetables weren't cooked properly, and the chapati was tough. However, the service was excellent—staff were very friendly, attentive, and handled complaints about the food well.

Worst experience. Waiting time was too long and the taste was not worth the wait. Would never suggest or visit again. The one thing which I liked in the restaurant was that the songs which they played was good and nothing else. 😅

The Taste of food for all our party of 11 was really highly praised. The main portions and rice very generous and we shared many starters all tasty but especially the prawns and the the chill cauliflower. The music was chart hits, enjoyable but a little loud. They turned it down immediately I asked. Unlike many restaurants very spacious, nice decor and pictures, staff super polite and attentive. Cobra beer was very cold as requested and except for starter omelette, food was served really quickly. Delicious food, very reasonably priced, will defo return !

We hosted my daughter’s birthday party in taste of India the service , food and ambience was really amazing and also a great experience for us… I recommend taste of india to my friends family and relatives to explore their memorable events

If you want a good eating experience then I wouldn't recommend. The food was over crispy on the fish and chicken to the extent that you had to chew carefully. Service took so long that for a 7.30pm booking where we had drinks straight away, there was a long wait for food. This arrived art 8.50pm so we were eating dessert at 10pm. No thanks.

Amazing restaurant and friendly staff. Always come here to explore the food as same like the kerala tasty food. I really like the jellikattu mathi . Iam the big fan of the mandi . Everybody must try the mandi . 😍.

It’s 100% halal on outside and I ask them and waiter said beef only not halal. So please if u looking halal option you have to check before order , and waiter should can be bit more friendly and helpful + ther no WiFi and mobile net doesn’t work inside restaurant, if u going with kids be aware

If you need authentic Indian and Kerala foods, then this is the place, I can vouch it as a Keralaite. Really great taste and quantity. The staff is very polite and helpful. The seating is not crowded and plenty of space between seats. You can also arrange parties for 20-30 people, or could be more. They have a parking space at the side for use between 6-pm-11pm, but it is not cleaerly marked and hence you need to ask them. There are lots of parking on the street around the area. Weekends could get crowded and hence beter to book. Will definitely recommend.

Went in there for a take away and they looked at us like we had 2 heads and wasn’t welcome ordered 3 different curries and I’ve got to say I’ve been eating curries for 30 years from different restaurants and this was by far the worst! 1 chicken drumstick still on the bone and a wing still on the bone is what they give you in a curry what the fudge!! £72 on a meal to literally all go in the bin. Avoid this restaurant!!
