If you like steak and chips, your going to love this place. They might be a one trick pony but they have perfected it.

Nothing special to be honest..really simple salad.. Felt myself like a rabbit. Meat and chips.. Was okay. Loved the sauce Good experience.. But not my cup of tea unfortunately

I didn't know, but luckily we all liked meat... only one dish offered: Entrecote, fries, salad... But the meat is really good, tender and cooked as requested (at the same time they didn't have what to do, then...). The price is a bit expensive, but the portion is more than enough.

The best steak i have ever tried. Visited them in London and France. I crave it the whole time as i am a carnivore 😂. The meat quality it amazing. Service is amazing. Portion is also fulfilling!

great restaurant a real experience

The food is tasty & fresh and the portion is good, as they serve two portions. It’s expensive as you can find many great restaurants for £31 pp + 10.5% service charge in London. Anyway, it’s worth to try it.

We came here on a Saturday in Dec right before Christmas. We arrived at 2pm and there wasn’t a queue at all. We were served immediately. Although we were asked how would we like the steak done, we found it quite random. Some pieces were more cooked than others. The sauce went really well with the steak. However, the sauce might make the fries soggy. The service is alright, they serve very quickly. The table turn around time is quick. The house wine is pretty good and so affordable. We had a very good time there though we felt we were rushed a little bit.

The sauce for the steak is incredible. Really delicious! Price is a bit steep but overall good experience

Great Steak and Frites restaurant in the heart of The City’s Financial district. Situated in a quiet pedestrianised street, just behind The Bank of England. Normally a queue outside the door, as it’s really popular at lunchtime and early evening with City workers. Fixed price set menu for two courses. Food is served quickly and is very tasty, and you’re able to choose how you prefer your steak to be cooked. Crème brûlée was perfect,with a lightly caramelised top. This is definitely not a restaurant to take anyone who’s vegetarian!

I chose to eat here for my birthday, as I’ve eaten here before and enjoy the food. I brought two friends who had never experienced the restaurant before. One of my friends got delayed by a train issue and even though the restaurant was fairly empty the manager stuck to policy and made us stand in the entrance for half an hour. My friend told her it was my birthday and asked if we could sit to wait but she said no. Eventually, I think she took pity on us and she did allow us to sit but emphasised that she was only doing so as the restaurant was so empty. Our waitress came to ask if we wanted drinks and when I told her I was waiting for our friend she barked at me - raised voice - I could/ should order a drink whilst I waited. But I wanted to wait until my friend arrived in case she wanted to share wine with me and so my other friend ordered a coke to pacify her. This waitress proceeded to be incredibly rude. And our salad came in so much mustard dressing it was practically inedible yet the table next to us had salad of the usual standard. The whole meal proceeded in this manner - our second helpings didn’t come with sauce and I had to wait and specifically ask for it whilst my food got cold. My friend raised the poor service and the waitress then stopped serving our table. When we arrived another birthday person had the candle in a dessert treatment and all the staff sang happy birthay - my dessert was just normal. Even though I had a birthday card on the table, a bag of presents and the manager was aware. We made the best of it, and the steak was still tasty, but honestly? It was a horrible birthday experience and I felt embarrassed my friends had travelled some distance there on my request. I also felt like the treatment we got was markedly different from that of other customers and I won’t be returning.

For the price we pay the entire experience is unjustifiable. The place operates like a fast food restaurant if not worse cos the staff don't care about their customers. We went on a Saturday. We were queuing in the cold before the opening and the staff could see from inside, a line forming but they still opened their doors late after their official opening time. Steaks are not cooked consistently. Both of us ordered medium but one was medium and the other was well done. They'd evidently seen this disparity while serving us but they just don't care. You just have to see your luck on which pieces you get. Waitress wearing glasses with tattoos on her left arm was very rude. Tried to correct me on how to pronounce "Mont Blanc" while ordering the dessert when she was in fact pronouncing it wrongly herself! Go elsewhere for a good steak, this place is truly an embarrassment.

The queue is part of the experience... But it is long!

The quality of the food, although simple, is very good. Also the characteristic environment. Very fast service with pros and cons. The waitresses were very approximate, almost rude. However, they do not influence the judgment of a particular fixed menu restaurant

I had a great dining experience at L’Entrecôte in London. Although we had to wait around 20 minutes to get in, it was well worth it. The service was excellent, and the steak was absolutely delicious. I loved how they topped up the steak with a smaller portion—it’s a nice touch! The portion sizes overall are not bad, with plenty of fries, and the signature sauce is good. At around £32 per person, it’s good value for the quality and experience. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Slightly too packed in and noisy for me personally but the food was incredible!

Honestly everything about this restaurant is amazing. The whole concept but the food itself too. I had the best fries of my life there. Desserts were top notch as well. Ruth was our waitress and she was so so so lovely despite the restaurant being really busy. Highly recommend!

Me and me girlfriend was here for dinner one evening, it was a weekday and still very busy (they don't to bookings). We had to que for around 15 minutes but that was fine, the atmosphere was great with loads of people, service was great and attentive and the steak frites was really good and defiantly enough food. Lovely evening overall.

The food here is very tasty. The steaks can either be cooked medium or rare and you get two servings of your plate. The restaurant is very fast paced as it is very crowded and very busy. There is a line, on weekends atleast, that wrap around the building and if you do not line up before opening, you will have to wait around an hour for the first batch to finish their meals. Because the place was very crowded the service was a bit slow. I asked for a knife and it took asking twice to get one. There was also no salt or sauce for my table and we were asked if it was ok to share with the table next to us.

Loved the pace, Simple menu very good steak and sauce and the deserts and coffe were amazing. Highly recommended

Very good service and excellent food 😋

The unlimited steak is nonsense. I was served, offered seconds and that was it. The steak, fries and sauce are ok. However it doesn’t justify the large queue. Overhyped! The dessert menu lacks information as there’s only names and pictures of the puddings and no further information (ingredients), we were left wondering for some time until we’ve asked for the bill. Not bad, but wouldn’t recommend it.

Food was really good, so tasty! Service was good and we didn't have to wait too long for a table on a Saturday night, bearing in mind you can't book. Not too expensive either for London, would definitely come back!

Personal muy molesto y grosero. Teníamos una mesa para 5 reservados, pero 1 persona estaba llegando tarde debido a compromisos de trabajo. No nos sentarían a menos que todos estuvieran presentes. Esperábamos conseguir la mesa para 5 y ordenar para la persona que viene tarde, ya que teníamos un espectáculo para llegar. No nos permitieron esto y no eran complacientes. Entienda que los restaurantes tienen sus políticas, pero ser acomodaticios o mostrar flexibilidad a su clientela es una parte importante de brindar un buen servicio.

There is one meal on the menu, a sliced steak served with fries and a “walnut salat”. The steak was nice, yes. Salat and fries on the lower end of scale. Narrow seating, loud atmosphere and compared to other UK waiters staff might be described a bit pushy- although still polite. But we could feel it is not the individual guests that counts but the throughput. E.g. once we were just done they got us the bill without us asking.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the steak frites was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and served with a rich, flavorful sauce. The only downside is the price, which is a bit high, but if you're looking for a top-quality steak, definitely worth it.

Good experience overall . Steak, the steak sauce ,and the salad was fine but nothing special .The fries and dessert cakes (gateaux Relais) were excellent. -1 star for the steak being nothing special even though that’s the signature dish that you’re required to order

This was just not good, the steak was tough, kind of cold and the service was mediocre at best. I would not spend my money here again. Definitely do not go if you have to queue (thank god we didn’t). I have been to the L’Entrecôte in Bordeaux many times and the whole experience and the quality of food is far superior to the restaurant in London. It was one of my favourite places for a reliable meal when I was living in Bordeaux so I was excited to try the London restaurant but I was extremely disappointed. I will not be returning

It's everything I expected it to be. The only thing I'd ask is for it to cost a bit less then I could afford to go more often

Although I love steak, I have mixed feelings about this place. Let’s start with the atmosphere—I honestly can’t stand it. The chairs are packed so close together that you can hear every conversation around you, which makes it hard to enjoy your meal. The service isn’t great either; the restaurant is so busy that it takes ages for the staff to come back to you. Now, onto the steak review, which I know you’re waiting for. For the price, it’s not bad. That said, they really need to season the steak properly with salt—and the fries too! The sauce is definitely the star of the meal and carries the flavours. The fries are nice and crispy, but again, they need salt to really shine. All in all, it’s not bad for the price, and I’ll be coming back, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

I don't get the hype and I wouldn't come back. We ended up standing in a queue for ages to be seated, which is completely unnecessary and performative in 2024. And it's not "steak and chips twice"...it's about a third of a steak and a load of low-quality, barely warm French fries twice. The service is obviously geared towards getting people put as quickly as possible to clear the queue. The steak itself was nice and the sauce was excellent, but just not worth it.

The food was good but I found that the sauce with the steak had more mustard in it than I’ve tried at the Marylebone branch however overall still quite good

This is a branch of the famous Parisian restaurant. Be prepared for a lineup in the evening but the space is huge and it moves fast. It’s a noisy loud and crowded atmosphere, in a good way. They only serve one item, which is unlimited steak and chips for £31. This also includes a salad and bread (which was hot and delicious) Steak can be ordered, rare, medium or well done. The sauce that goes with it is delicious. Service is fast. Lots of dessert options as well. We had the meringue with icecream but in hindsight should’ve picked the sticky toffee. Overall amazing experience.

Good place to go every now and the . I like that they served us twice. Some of us did not like the gravy with the steak. Also they charged us for a dessert we did not have and then removed it (could have been a mistake). But overall recommend it for an informal but nice steak lunch!

My friend invited me to dine at L'Entrecôte, a place I had never visited before. Although the restaurant looked lovely, the service was a shock. When I briefly went to the restroom, the waitress came over to ask how I wanted my meat cooked. Unsure of what she meant, I turned to my friend and spoke in French, confused because I hadn't realized the restaurant only had a fixed menu – I was expecting a regular menu before deciding on my order. Not fully understanding, I mentioned that I might not order, and my friend ordered just for herself and her daughter. The waitress, responding in French and quite rudely, said we couldn’t stay if I wasn’t planning to eat and that she’d need to check with her manager. Her tone was unprofessional and took me by surprise. My friend went ahead and ordered two meals, and when the salad arrived, she explained the concept to me. Concerned about my mustard allergy, I then noticed the sauce on the salad and meat and asked if mustard was in it. The waitress returned and, instead of being helpful, brusquely scolded me for not mentioning my allergy sooner. I explained that my friend didn’t know I had one. We had also asked for water, which she forgot to serve us. When they brought my salad back, it had no sauce at all – not even a simple olive oil dressing – and the same happened with my steak. When I asked if they could provide some butter, she flatly refused. For the steak, it wasn’t a big issue since a bit of salt and pepper did the trick, but it felt dismissive. The single-set menu concept is actually quite unique, but as a first-timer, I was caught off guard. A simple explanation would have made all the difference. The food itself – both the meat and portion sizes – was good, but the waitress’s attitude and lack of service really soured the experience for both me and my friend.

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. While the food and portion sizes were good, the service from one particular waitress completely ruined the evening. She was rude and rushed us through the order, which left me feeling uncomfortable and shocked throughout the meal. I’ve never experienced such poor treatment at a restaurant before. I traveled all the way from Southampton to spend a special evening with my friend and daughter, and this experience spoiled it. I hope the management takes feedback seriously so that other guests aren’t left feeling this way.

This is my go to restaurant, just the simplicity is fantastic coupled with the food its just a delight every time.

Huge queues outside to get in and no bookings available. The queue moved fast enough and we got a table for six in fifteen minutes. There’s no menu, just a wine list and desserts. For starters there’s a tasty salad with nuts. For main it’s steak in a lovely sauce and chips. They ask how you want the steak done but all our steaks looked the same!! The plates looked like small portions but the waitress came round with second helpings of steak and chips so it was a good portion in the end. The red wine was ok, not amazing. The desserts were all excellent. I do recommend this place. We all enjoyed it and it’s a buzzing atmosphere inside with exemplary service. The price for our meals and half a bottle of wine each was about £60, which was very decent value.

Very rude service, they’re trying their fastest to shop you out. Bill was on the table and paid for before we finished our wine. Tiny tiny portions. About 200 grams probably for the two servings that are sliced ridiculously thin to give you the illusion of more steak for your buck. 31 pounds is a travesty for the quality of service and food. Mustard salad was also not it. They chucked it on our table as soon as the menu was taken away. Fun for the experience but horrible horrible food and service. Will not be frequenting again.

My sister took us there for her birthday! As tourists, it was exciting to eat among business men that were having their lunch break. The ladies serving us were really efficient and the food was amazing! The only mediocre part was the tart with the strawberries but it's OK since the creme brulee was awesome!

To be honest, this place used to be one of my favourite in the City. However, it seems that it has changed a lot since covid. Good quality has dropped substantially, service is awful and the inside hasn't changed since I've been there first time 10 years ago. Service felt like they are in a hurry or something, coming for our plates before we even have finished food. Constantly bothering us at the table giving an impression that this is not the place to chill but eat quick, don't have any long conversations and leave quick. Really awful place to go now. Which is a shame as I loved the concept of this restaurant.

I use to come here years go as a place to eat after a few drinks. After their Marylebone branch became tik tok famous, this place has become popular again. Marylebone is averaging hour long queues. I was able to walk in for a table of 2 on a Friday night with no queue at all. This place is simple and you get the set meal. It starts with a standard salad with walnuts and some bread. The main is steak and fries. The steak is a sirloin and you can have it rare, medium or well. It comes with a mysterious but delicious greens sauce. Once you have finished your plate, they come round with another serving of steak and fries if you want it, great bonus. We had a few glasses of their st emillion wine which was nice. This is a great value place for some tasty food. Wouldn’t recommend for special occasion or if you had to queue a long time.

If you don't like decisions about what to eat, this place makes it easy: well done, medium, rare or blue. In contrast to the main menu, their deserts menu is pretty extensive. Recommend for anyone who likes steak and chips, but not great for vegetarians (probably no options for vegans).

Despite being One of the best restaurants to eat it was disappointing to see a sick waitress coughing into the food and attending work when they are sick. Yesterday 6pm wasn’t a good experience for us unfortunately. We left immediately.

Sauce is amazing but steak is not tasty. Atmosphere is awful because its very noisy. Its like a fast food place where its a rush eating. Salad went down hill badly. Avoid rose, it tastes like vinegar.

Food and experience is pretty much the same as Paris. there's only one thing on the menu, steak and fries, you can choose blue, rare, medium or well done for the steak which is doused with their famous house sauce. Fries are fried to a perfect crisp. For dessert, can choose from Creme Brulee, Strawberries and cream, profiteroles, chocolate cake, strawberry merengue. They don't take reservations so be prepared to queue and will only seat you if your entire party is present.

Mi esposa dijo que mientras estábamos cerca (Diez Manchester) un corto paseo para ver que el restaurante estaba lleno y había una larga fila de huéspedes vigilados por la seguridad. La multitud que esperaba se mezcló bien y conocimos a una pareja encantadora que vivía cerca estaban en línea con nosotros que hemos estado en línea muchas veces que lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Estábamos sentados cerca de la cocina y para ver el flujo exacto de alimentos y bebidas con el jefe de cocina supervisando el servicio suave y más eficiente, era simplemente una obra maestra en cómo cocinar y preparar alimentos y bebidas (vino) a una casa llena expresando satisfacción todos El menú sirve solo bistec y los bistecs fueron cocinados a la perfección y nos sorprendió servidores devueltos con segundos casi al final de nuestra comida... sí por favor y gracias! La salsa que acompañaba los cortes tiernos era dinámica, por decir lo menos. Un plato lateral con ensalada bijou y maravilloso aderezo nos tuvo tan contentos con la comida perfecta. Como mi esposa señaló, debe ser difícil para todos los demás restaurantes que rodean RVD ver la fila continuamente entusiasta de huéspedes esperando ser recibidos en interiores. Vaya, qué experiencia maravillosa. Como ex inspector de algunos de los hoteles boutique, restaurantes, posadas de lujo y mejores hoteles de clase en los Estados Unidos y partes de Europa, incluido el Reino Unido, RDV está allí para satisfacer las expectativas más populares para un restaurante francés en Londres. Consistent, always consistent but that's it's strength

One of my favourite restaurants in London - really fantastic food, perfect example of simple done very VERY well. Service is generally very good, and the servers are always very talented. It is VERY VERY loud and full of city employees if you go at certain times IE late evening but I think it somewhat adds to the atmosphere

The starters, salad and bread, were really nice though simple. I ordered a medium steak and it was a disaster. The whole batch was chewy and hard to swallow. I expected it to turn out well but no. The second serving was the same. However, I don't think it was about the way it was cooked, the meat itself had so much sinew. The fries and desserts were great. Normally they offer 2 servings of steaks and fries but when the waitress offered my second serving of fries I wasn't ready and she didn't offer it again. We complained about the quality of the meat at the end and the manager told me to complain before eating it all next time 😂 She said they could have changed it and offered us a complimentary dessert as an apology. Everything is vintage and feels like travelling in time except for the tablecloths. They just use white plastic one-off tablecloths which do not really match with the atmosphere. There is only one knife and fork. The glasses are only one type. When my husband and I entered the restaurant (Wednesday night), we encountered a small queue. However, we were seated quite quickly. The restaurant was packed, very fast-paced and loud. There is no privacy between the tables.

This place was like a conveyor belt, they could not get us out fast enough, you will not get a second portion. I have been to the one on central many towns and enjoyed but coming back from the Netherlands to try it this time was the last time, not sure if it was the location or the quality degradation. Was the most unenjoyable experience and left quite upset.

The atmosphere was good. It gets super busy so earlier in the evening is better, I got there around 6:45 and a big line formed behind me. The service was quick. The portion size are huge especially given you get two servings of fries and steak. The steak was nice I wish I had gotten medium rare, the sauce is great but I think it’s too much. It was delicious none the less. The salad was nice as well but a little over sauced again. Looked like they had great deserts but I was not able to try any.

Pros: - Vintage style with a cute charm. - Super fast service turnaround. - Responsive manager and customer service. - FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! - Wine was beautiful (I had 250ml of the bordeaux). - Seated quickly. Cons: - Extremely tight seating, 5 inches apart from the tables next to us. - Some the cuts of meat were far too chewy. - The waiters were very overwhelmed and could not spend adequate time with each table to make us feel welcome and catered to. - The fast service style and restaurant-like style juxtapose one another. We felt like we were in a high-end diner. Overall: Great food, Great Service, and professional customer care really make this a go-to if you want to grab a bite in London. However, for a full course meal (for 2) it cost around £100. This is a high price to pay to sit on a bench shoulder to shoulder with what felt like 10 other pairs of people. I wouldn't do a romantic date here at all.

Steak and chips for £31 per person. It's the only dish and it's served in 2 servings so that neither the steak nor the chips get cold. My steak was perfectly pink in the middle. I asked for it rare. They do not do "medium". Service was fantastic. Our server was the amazing Erica. If you are lucky you'll get her. She is so friendly!!!!!

Do not recommend. There are plenty of tables available on a Monday morning. We were assigned to sit close to the entrance, an aisle table that may block the walkway. Asked the staff to change, she stared at us with eye widely open and asked what can she help. Very unfriendly. The place is so small that the staff need to pull the table out every time to let the customers get seated. Food is not very exciting. A small portion of salads with some baguette. Can barely taste the favour of the steak. The green sauce just cover all of the scent of the steak. Fries were very fair. Pretty much tiny broken pieces instead of complete long thin fries. And it cost over £40 per person. You can find many restaurants much better than this with this budget.

I’ve seen this place on TikTok and thought it looks great. I love that they just do steak and fries. It makes it so they do what they do really well. I wasn’t sure if like the sauce as I’m picky sometimes, but it was delightful! After the salad, the steak and fries came out and it was perfectly cooked and the taste was amazing. Loved every bite! My only complaint was that I wanted more, just as I said it out loud my server came back with a second serving that’s included with the meal. This place is worth every penny and I will for sure be back!!!

This place used to be good. I have been coming here for 4 years, and every time, have been offered unlimited fries. All of a sudden, they have stopped, and have gaslit me that this was never the case. Won't be coming again, the price is ridiculous for what you get. Will be making the sauce and fries at home myself

Overhyped with really awful portions. You’ll get 5 tiny slices of overdone steak at best- in cramped, stuffy conditions. Much better options nearby for a similar price. Don’t waste your time.

Nice French steak and fries restaurant. One menu only, 2 services for steak and fries. (So basically everyone gets 10 slices of steak.) All diners have to arrive before getting the table. Good atmosphere and good for dating.

Le Relais de Venise l'Entrecôte offers a straightforward dining experience, where the food is undeniably good, but the overall experience falls short in several key areas. The signature steak and fries are perfectly cooked, and the secret sauce lives up to its reputation, delivering a delightful and satisfying flavor. However, this is where the positives mostly end. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacks atmosphere. The interior feels sterile, with little effort put into creating a warm or inviting ambiance. There’s no sense of comfort or intimacy, which leaves the dining experience feeling rather impersonal. One of the biggest drawbacks is the pace at which you are made to eat. The staff rush you through your meal, making it hard to enjoy the food at a leisurely pace. It feels as if the goal is to turn over tables as quickly as possible, which detracts from the pleasure of the dining experience. Speaking of tables, they are incredibly close together. The space between them is so limited that it becomes a challenge to even get in and out of your seat without having to physically move the table. This cramped layout means that you feel squeezed in, with no personal space to enjoy your meal, and it can be uncomfortable, especially during busier times. Overall, while the food at Le Relais de Venise l'Entrecôte is undeniably good, the lack of ambiance, rushed service, and cramped seating make it difficult to fully enjoy what could be a fantastic meal. It’s a place to visit if you're only concerned with the food, but for a relaxed and comfortable dining experience, this may not be the best choice.

We went here for dinner on Monday evening around 7:30 pm. We expected there to be a queue, but we were lucky and were able to get in straight away. Beforehand we received 2 pieces of baguette and a salad. There are no spreads and the salad consists of: lettuce with walnuts and a vinaigrette. Not very special. The Supreme Court followed not much later. French fries with steak and the famous sauce. I had medium and my girlfriend had rare. We couldn't really tell a difference between the two steaks. The cooking seemed the same for both. The taste was good, the meat was tender, but otherwise not special for the price you paid (40 euros, drinks not included and service charge included). We didn't have dessert. So we can't judge this. These looked delicious on other guests, by the way. The service was fast. You just don't get long to sit at the table, we quickly got the bill. The restaurant was not full. All in all fine but not again. The hype isn't worth it in my opinion.

Fantastic atmosphere, good food and service. Reasonable prices. However it was quite a queue. But the one disappointment was the loud sound of customers competing to try to talk to each other, I think the lack of sound absorbing material should be addressed.

Feels very French with the simplest menu ever - salad to start, steak and fries and a choice of dessert. That’s it. Their gimmick is the second serving of steak and fries. It’s a place to visit once.

Absolutely brilliant. No pre-booking so prepare to wait in line but it is well worth the wait.

The classic steak frites simply can’t disappoint.
