This really is a lovely pub on the inside with cheap pints but a nice atmosphere. I used to come here with my friend but he wasn’t really a friend, more an acquaintance. It felt like the right thing to do to meet him here though. In fact we met here before a straightforward shooting weekend just to do the honourable thing and end our friendship which wasn’t a friendship. It was the honourable thing to do. My friend used to tell me there was an upstairs bar as well but I never did go upstairs. I was quite happy staying downstairs because there’s no stench of sweat down there. I don’t know why I’m even reviewing this because I have no real recollection of going, I’m not really one for drinking and partying. What I do remember very clearly however is that all the staff and everyone in the place was overage. I’ve added a photo of the pub to this review but I’ve got my people looking into it to be sure it hasn’t been faked. It’s inconclusive at the moment but we’re looking into it. Don’t let the side down, visit this pub but it’s fairly casual so I’d recommend travelling clothes. Definitely better than drinking in Woking!

It’s a great pub. We in Soho colloquially refer to it as the Nonce due to its picture of the current Duke Of York outside. It’s no pizza express in Woking and you’ll struggle to sweat inside but most people who work in the area will say meet you for a pint at the Nonce and we all know where they mean. Good outdoor street drinking and friendly service.

Stopped in while my wife shopped. Friendly and charming, low key and slightly out of the way. Perfect pint. Went back later for another. Great little spot.

Recommended by an acquaintance, who lives locally. After the noise and mediocrity of "The Marquess of Angelsey" in Covent Garden this was like Nirvana. Charming, cosy and with an excellent selection of draught beers. This pub is clearly off the beaten track and so much the better for it. I will return!!

Very traditional style pub in the centre of London. Relatively small bar and upstairs function room. Busy, like all West End bars, but friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.

I visited this place yesterday for lunch and it has been a wonderful surprise! My friends and I ordered food and it was delicious, the selection of beers is wide and we stayed for more than one drink after! The staff is really friendly and helpful and ready to advice you on everything! Really recommended!

The 12 of us met for pre dinner drinks at this Victorian pub (Sat 1st Sept) which is off the beaten track. I tried 3 of the cask ales and found to be all in excellent condition. We stayed from about 5.30 pm to just before 7 pm as we had a 4 minute walk to our restaurant (Spaghetti House in Goodge Street). I will definitely come here again! The wines were reasonably priced for central London!

Dont go to this branch, they dont have a system. Very different from the other branch, they would ask you to queue for 1hr and 30 mins, we just went back after 30 mins, and the person responsible for the line doesnt even message the people who were in the queue, and just let people about 10 of them who just arrived for less than 1 minute who waited outside. The staff was VERY rude as well saying it’s our fault to not inform him that we were waiting already. Then why do this anyway? What’s the point of your online queue system if you are not going to use it anyway.

One of my favourite restaurants in London! Beautiful location, food amazing every time and waiters and staff who are superb hosts. Will be back again and again for sure!
