After having several ‘tasting menu’ experiences at various local restaurants this was by far the worst! Bright lights, no atmosphere, filthy carpet, no table linen, paper napkins, chipped crockery, dirty glasses, bland food, no-one bothered to explain courses or ask if they were enjoyed, limited wine choice and, to top it all, we were charged for something we didn’t have! Would not recommend at all, try The lighthouse at Boylestone for a proper tasting menu experience!

Have eaten at Olive a couple of times before. Always loved the welcome and the food. This was our 1st visit to Jacqui’s new premises. Very pleased Jacqui has brought the same warmth and hospitality to the new venue. We look forward to visiting again x

I would like to say a huge thank you for helping me yesterday when I fell over opposite your cafe. The staff, especially Hayley, were amazing and so kind helping me into the cafe and providing an ice pack and drink of water. They allowed me to sit there as long as I wanted. By the way the coffee and cakes they serve are amazing! Thank you so much.

Had some lunch at this coffee shop on Saturday. Very disappointed to be honest. Pot of tea was nice but the food wasn't very good at all. We both had toasted Sandwich which was shocking really. The bread was so thin and with minimal cheese and onion. Once cooked ended ip.looking like too think bits of cardboard. Cold and floppy. Salad was brown and crisps soft. When asked if OK.when paying I did t want to say as there were people near the tills. Sorry won't be back. Nice bread and some filling would be good. Wondered why it was empty when we went in. 😕

I called by for a quick breakfast sandwich takeaway before work. I wanted to spend at a local independent business and try somewhere new. I wish I hadn’t picked here… I ordered a sausage sandwich for £3 and chucked it straight in the bin after one bite. Chewy microwaved pre-cooked sausages on cheap white bread with a measly bit of ketchup. I wouldn’t even pay 50p for that. The owners should be ashamed of this… if this is the usual standard of food I’d expect them to be closed down soon.

Fantastic food as always. I called in advance to ensure there were some gluten free options and the kitchen were SO accommodating. Highly recommended .

While in Belper, birthplace of Samuel Slater, the father of the American Industrial Revolution, we stopped in before our tour began. There was an amazing array of delicious pastries and tea. The owners are super friendly. It was almost Remembrance Day and I thought their tribute to the animals who are killed in war was very sweet.

I visited the small cafe and what a wonderful place experienced a lovely meal and atmosphere. Service The service was very good your treated like a personal customer friendly and well informed. Food The food was well cooked hot and and I asked for my egg to be well done. The egg was superb so was the drink a really nice one. Where The cafe is in debradelei Mill near Morrison’s in Belper Derbyshire. it’s on the first floor and is accessible if you use the small lift not the large one. Staff will help if you need it.

Food was ok though not a vast amount of choice. The peas were freezing cold but we were given fresh hot ones when we pointed it out. My wife had a pile of rock salt on her plate when the meal arrived. The room was uncomfortably cold and we had to eat our meal with our coats on. All in all not a pleasant experience and not that cheap either. Unfortunately will not be returning for the foreseeable future.
