The best restaurants in Belper Central Amber Valley East Midlands

Don't believe the hype. It was underwhelming and poor! Had Full English, supposedly award winning and "the best breakfast in Derbyshire", none of the breakfast was hot, most of it was cold apart from the beans and eggs! Informed the server, he said he would let chef know, no apology or refund provided or care in customer satisfaction or service. Considering it wasn't even busy, and several staff were working, the hygiene standards were shocking, no one was even bothering to wipe down tables after guests had been dining. No wonder they havent got a 5 star food hygiene score. Actually surprised they got 4, considering the experience we had I would avoid. Some suggestions to the owners, cook ALL the food fresh to order rather than keeping it on the heat, meat was dry and luke warm on serving, went cold instantly, clearly had been precooked and held on heat. Food was served too quick to have been cooked fresh to order. Heat the plates to keep the food warm when its put on them. Make the building warm it was also really cold in there. And finally wipe and clean down table surfaces after guests eat there. It's simply lazy and also unhygienic.

Great chain of shops in the Derby area, this is the Belper one. Best sausages you’ll ever get, other food is amazing there too including cream cakes, cheese straws and bread rolls to name a few. Staff lovely and shop always kept clean and tidy. Small outdoor seating area too. Well recommended 👍

The staff are so helpful. They helped me to order a taxi so that I could catch a train. If I hadn't been helped..I would have been stranded in storm. Thank you to Andy...customer who was soo lovely. Staff and patrons are the best.Thank you so much.

The food was very good and this is the second time we have been recently. The last time the food was also very good and I would certainly recommend the quality of the meals. The service was prompt. But a little bit haphazard. On our first occasion, we sat in the dining area where they cooked fresh pizzas. It looked like they’ve had a function on that evening and the used tables looked very bare and not tidied up properly. I felt like I was eating in a school dining room on our second occasion we ate in what was a kind of conservatory which on the surface was much better but they see to us at a table that had a leaky tap behind on the wall and in fact had dripped and wet all the floor around the table, and yet nobody noticed or was bothered about seating as here. We got up and just moved without asking there was no apology. In terms of the service it was mixed. Some staff was really efficient though whoever dealt with us was very friendly. Other stuff we had to ask for the drinks menu three times and it finally came the place looks a bit uncut and neglected and they clearly need someone organising the dining area much better. We had people coming in for drinks in the dining area and as a result it changed the atmosphere which made it feel just like sitting in any bar area . I would go again for the Quality of the food but I’m not sure for any other reason I would go back. As I look for the added value of nice clean inviting surroundings, which this did not really have.

Not sure what's happening but they've actually started serving up decent cappuccinos.In the recent past there was a mix of good and bad attempts at something that's not rocket science.

The restaurant was cold, people where sat with there coats on, all saying it was cold. I asked for a hot curry, the spicy the better. What came was very dull with small bits of chicken in it . I asked if i could have peppers and onions within the curry. These where just diced raw on top, maybe this was all a miss understanding regards not understanding English ? But the guy seemed good with his English. Also the potions where small, they bought a hot metal plate out to keep the dishes warm... you could place your hands on it. There was no way that was going to keep the food warm ! All in all not great. We would not return.

Typical bar chain pub great for watching sports and a quick bite to eat, gets busy

We've ordered from here three times. The first time it was nice, ordered on a Monday so didn't wait too long. Today, the soup was almost congealing, not like I've had before and even though it said our order would be 1 hour and a half, it was 2 hours 5mins to be delivered. Disappointing. The cooked veggies and duck pancakes are nice but easy to not get wrong.

visited today with a friend had chips and peas and the drink and it was reasonably priced. Food was cooked. loverly best fish and chips. I have had in a very very long time. will definitely be returning when we are in the area again well done

Revisited after glorious Christmas dining experience. Once again, the service, food and atmosphere were quite superb. Took my friend, a celebrity chef to sample their culinary delights. Both of us very happy with the halibut in a superb sauce. Great value for money. Impeccable service. A dining delight. Once again, many thanks from both of us. Looking forward to my next visit in October.

I’m a regular at Reunion Deli, whether it’s coffee, brunch, or a book event, because the atmosphere there is always so welcoming, friendly and vibrant, and the staff are always upbeat and warm. Just recently Reunion hosted my Birthday party in the evening. Sophie prepared all the food and everyone, including myself, couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked and how delicious it was. I couldn’t have asked for a better party and I’m so grateful to everyone at Reunion for making the night run so smoothly. I would highly recommend Reunion to anyone and I think they’re doing such a great service to Belper.
