The best restaurants in Bakewell Derbyshire Dales East Midlands

We absolutely loved our evening meal and breakfast at Rafter’s restaurant. We loved the tasting menu. The quality of food and service were second to none. It isn’t cheap but it was a real treat and we highly recommend.

A beautiful, atmospheric place with very friendly staff. I had the most delicious meal, and the salmon I ordered was the best I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend this restaurant! The only downside was that I had pre-ordered a sweet surprise with a candle for my partner’s birthday dessert, but unfortunately, we didn’t receive it. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. We found 4 + vegan choices (1 also gluten free) of cake coffee was delicious staff were really warm and friendly and we were welcomed as a family with young children (5&7)

Went in about 2pm on a Thursday so it was quiet. Only a small place but had a wonderful, welcoming staff, quick service and the pizza was served fast, got and was delicious.

Coffee and food was good as usual. Just disappointing that the staff were so unfriendly and unwelcoming, miserable, as if they I didn’t want to be there.

We have stayed at the duke every other weekend from our first campervan adventure in February this year, we love it!! It's our happy place and there is nothing Bridget and the team wouldn't do to accommodate us, the campsite is lovely and the views are beautiful and the facilities are fantastic and clean, we love the pub with its lovely welcome, open fires and out of this world food !! We never want to stay anywhere else when visiting buxton/bakewell 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 looking forward to seeing Bridget and the team soon 🥰

Absolutely delicious breakfast. Cooked to perfection. Served quickly and presented well. Staff were friendly and the place itself very quaint. Seating area outside with chickens roaming freely.

Been coming here 20+ years with my dad and we have never had a bad meal yet. It's our favourite place to have a catch up. The owner John is lovely and always has time to chat, you can tell he puts his heart and soul into the business and he is a credit to the cafe. Fisherman/greek salads were fab as were the iconic Bakewell puddings with ice cream. Will always choose here over anywhere else in Bakewell.

Great cafe. Good food and great friendly service. I wouldn't go to any other cafe in Bakewell. Very obliging. Food is well cooked and presented.

Absolutely gutted . Been today from Sheffield and although it states on website open its actually shut and looks like its been renovated..please update the website so people know..had to go elsewhere which was nowhere near as good and cost more aswell ..Still ticked 5 as it always is so good..

Cooked in beef dripping, the best, the aroma on the high street pulls you in, and then you're not disappointed, perfectly cooked, tasted superb and fabulous courteous service , highly recommended and thankyou for the few chips 😋

We visited The Rafters at Riverside while on holiday and the first face we saw was Sue! She is the most lovely, friendly, smiley and helpful person anyone could hope to meet when visiting somewhere new. Sue is a credit to this restaurant. The food...

The fish and chips were terrible they tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Plus they forgot to put in the curry sauce. We ended up throwing them away and eating cheese and biscuits.

Brilliant experience...strongly recommended...friendly staff, nothing too much trouble..prices reasonable

Great pizza and great atmosphere. You must try the three sample beers on a platter, much more fun than just one. We had to book and it was fully booked whilst we were there.
