The best restaurants in Babergh East of England

Portion size was very small. Ordered pie and mash. What arrived was a pot of pie filling with a tough and cold pastry lid. And a tiny spoonful of mash. My 3 year old had a kids meal of 2 sausages (huge sausages!) and mash, and her meal was larger than mine! I did complain but nothing came of it. Just "I'll let the kitchen know". We love the farm but wont return to the restaurant.

Second visit here with family and it was amazing again. Such a friendly welcome, very clean and nicely spaced tables. Gluten free options are plentiful so it was difficult choosing but highly recommend the chicken in tarragon sauce. I had initially chosen the fish and chips but being a coeliac was informed that they use the same fryer for both batters and so to avoid cross contamination I chose the chicken instead. Really great to have such care and attention to detail…which was really appreciated. Highly recommend and wish everyone continued success.

I've sadly had to stop using this pizza service. I loved their food initially but for some reason I always get the runs or throw up after eating their pizza. I think they use too much oil so it could be that. I have asked them not to use too much and to ensure the pizza is cooked where the cheese is slightly browned due to my IBS but no one listens. Been a customer 9 years

This was my first visit to The White Horse and must say just how pleased we were that we went. I will definitely be going again.

I think the burger and drink for £15 is a great deal, but it needs to be made clearer which drinks are covered in the deal. I had one pint of Moletrap and that was OK .When I changed to my usual drink of Guinness , I was really disappointed. The bar staff did not know how to pour a good pint of Guiness.It came up virtually flat and too cold also.

Nice good. Huge portions! Could have been hotter though. The carvery was very tasty.

Cash is king great value for money

beautiful food based on quality ingredients and care and attention paid in the preparation - cant go anywhere else now! don't really want to give this review in ase they get too busy and we cant get in!

Not a good experience and the food was far too expensive compared to all the other cafes and restaurants we use.

terrible service , delivery time stated , 40 mins late i call and apparently is in car , 30mins later , still in car apparently as driver went cornard first , then another 20 mins call up and they say now cooking in the kitchen !!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

First time here, friends booked a table, food was good, staff friendly

Morrisons, please sort out out your silly food ordering system!! You've got a touchpad at the beginning to order which is fair enough. You get asked for a table number which doesn't exist. You get a ticket for the food you've ordered. Which I presume you take to the till to verify your order, like a lot of other cafes.... Nope....the cashier looks at me blank.... that's apparently not the way to do it. Thankfully the lady was helpful and points me the "correct" way to do it. This is different to the Diss branch, which seems to be more logical somehow. Why does Hadleigh have to do it differently?!.... Anyways, the food there is pretty good.... Just sorting out the ordering system.... Thanks...

Great afternoon visit to the Swan with the best company. The food was delicious, we were told there’s a new chef. The beef rib was really tasty as was the turkey dinner. If you haven’t been for a while you really must try the Swan again. Service was amazing from Gill.

We love this pub to go to sometimes either weekly or fortnightly . We can park easily at the pub . The pub has a lovely atmosphere , we are always greeted politely and with a smile . Customer service is "top notch " always regardless of what staff our on duty or how busy they are . The food is absolutely fabulous , always presented well and served by the wonderful staff . We cannot recommend this pub enough , in fact it's the only one we travel too being 13 miles one way .

I certainly don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere with a warm, welcoming atmosphere! A distinct lack of heating and a fire that resembled a candle, combined with the abrupt attitude of the lady behind the bar, resulted in a cold, atmosphere-less lunch. Fortunately the food was ok and the cheery male staff made it slightly better- she could take lessons from him in terms of customer service.
