The best restaurants in Braintree East of England

Sadly this shop has nothing to do with MANZE of London. So don’t be fooled this is MANZE’S the Original is MANZE.

Absolutely disgusting food. I would not recommend attempting to eat here. The chef needs to go back to the drawing board or think about throwing the towel in. Worst food my family and I have had, can’t remember ever eating such terrible food. There is more salt in the food than the Dead Sea, and in kids meals…. Wowza

Top spot just outside of Braintree for drinks. We like to come here for the sports every now and then as we’ve moved out of town but it’s our go to when we’re here. If you’re after a pub with a decent selection of drinks. Good food. Nice locals and a great young landlord who’ll be sure to look after you. This is your place! Great outside in the summer. Cozy in the winter. An authentic pub.

I think Costa Witham makes a truly fantastic dry cappuccino! I looked over at the counter and mentioned to my husband which lady had made my lovely coffee and just as I was just spooning out the last drops the member of staff came over and said was your coffee ok? How lovely that someone would ask, I explained I was scooping out the last drops as it was sooo delicious :) I think the staff should be given a treat for good service!

This was a brilliant traditional cafe supplying a good selection of reasonably priced English style breakfast and lunches, I was a regular punter. They closed a couple of months ago for a refurb and are now about to re open so I stopped by to check out the new menu. Oh dear, oh dear, it seems they have all gone a bit "Champagne Socialist" while they have been closed. The prices make no sense, instead of, say, £7.20 the menu says it as "7.2" Why? It's hard to find a breakfast without flippin Haloumi included! Why do I want squeaky rubber with my fried egg?? When you find a decent breakfast on the menu it's £11.90!!! (11.9 in their money) and that includes 1 slice of "sourdough toast", no drinks though. So by the time I add a coffee I'm going to be paying upwards of 16 quid for a fried breakfast (16.0 apparently), and I'll still only get one slice of poxy "sourdough" (yuk) I'm sure some of the Wickham Bishops Massiv will pop in from time to time but at these prices you've probably lost your core customers, the oldies, families and workers. And as for Halloumi on a fried breakfast, what's all that about eh?

Fresh & hot fish and chips. Had it delivered and the portion size was massive. Fish was fresh and all very hot. Compliments were due definitely be ordering again.

Popped in last night to order a rather large order. Lady who took my order was really friendly and polite, food was about 15 minutes. All the food was really well presented and very tasty. I will definitely be using Yibg in the future as I feel other restaurants in witham have let standards slip of late. Well done Ying and Thank You for an excellent meal for my family.

We always order from here it is the best Chinese and best service my only complaint today was chicken was lovely n white in fried rice but very dark in chicken chow mein it is usually same as fried rice so a bit disappointing

I've just had a lovely hour sitting having tea and cake in this lovely, relaxing cat cafe having cat therapy. Lovely cats although sleeping mostly, very friendly. Molly the host is very informative and chatty & welcoming. I highly recommend.

shocking delivery service from empire house, used this firm before ,no problems, not waiting nearly 2 hours, excuse after excuse, on the plus side the food has always been good

Big portions and great service from the two ladies. Really good value for money and the best quality Chinese in the area in my opinion.

Good food and reasonable prices. The service was amazing - we were served by the lovely Isabelle who couldn’t have been nicer. She looked after us very well on a very busy Saturday night during Black Friday weekend! Food came out quickly and everyone was friendly!

Friendly people who provide almost everything you could need in the centre of the village with foods and gifts.
