The best restaurants in Braintree East of England

Jay- absolute s**t food and p*ss take prices- just trying to earn a quick ££- (please see pics) - charged £10 for each kebab!

We visited the Braintree branch on 16th November to collect a takeaway and on this visit the normal bad service excelled itself. We placed our order and drove to the pay window and then on to the collection point, where things really went downhill rapidly. My wife was handed the ordered Mcflurrys and was asked to pull over and wait for the rest of our order, when she declined to take the ice creams she was told that head office has commanded that the ice creams must be handed over immediately for people waiting, she refused stating that by the time we get home they will have melted. Eventually the rest of the ordered arrived , excpt the three large fries which only arrived after further delay. On arrival at home it was discovered that the Mcflurrys were only half full and hardly any chocolate pieces. Most of the staff at this branch are at best sullen and at worst plain rude, they have no concept of customer service and fast food is an alien term to them. Although this branch is ten minutes from my home I will never use it again, I would prefer to go twenty minutes away to Chelmsford or Stansted airport, also Stansted has a Burger King drive through. The service at these establishments is much better and the staff project a positive customer focused attitude in their work.

Second take away from this establishment, first was a sponge - nothing too special and to over priced BUT. just had New York cheesecake and I’ve never had such a fake tasteless dessert . I’ve had many New York cheesecakes but its got to be the worst Sorry!

Really nice Salt & Pepper Squid, wasn't over done or cooked with soggy batter and flavourful. The thick chips were really fresh

Couldn't be more stupid if they tried!!! Ordered and selected pay by cash. Driver brings food and says its already been paid for. So were honest and tell him bill needs to be paid. Driver doesn’t have change and apparently cant bring change back either as thats clearly a challenging difficult request!!! So takes food away. WTAF!!!!

terrible order chickien shish supposed to be large the kebab roll was bigger the pitta bread was crispy in places there was no box it was wrapped in paper and the paper was stuck to the pitta bread will not order again

Great food and sirvice will be recommending to all of my friends and family. The prices were also amazing for wat you get!

slightly disappointed that they didn’t have much on the menu to order like grill food, roasts etc but the food we did end up ordering was very nice. we had amazing service from laiton who couldn’t do enough for us. very polite and kind thankyou.

Really nice food . Just moved to village and will deff be using more. Team are great and can make all sorts. Would recommend!

Never had a bad meal in this place. Staff are always friendly and accommodating, nice vibe in the place, good music. My go to in Braintree.

The food was sh** don’t ever ever in your life go to this place absolutely abysmal they should be shut down for lying and fake advertising and being incompetent disgustingly behaved people! Stay away if you value your life!!!!

I went through drive through and it have to say I'll never go back this is worst KFC I've ever been to No staff long waits and half order missing but worst this is they leave tissue out so forget eating in car I payed and then just threw it in the bin Avoud

Once again all the shutters were down on the fridges and chiller cabinets and part of the frozen section was closed off this is the 2nd time in a few weeks. What happens to all of the food behind the shutters? I won’t be buying anything in the lines of fridges freezers or chillers in the future. Disgusting

Was initially disappointed to see a lot of me no u items unavailable - brisket, ribs etc all not on the menu but was excited for BBQ so decided to persevere. A decision we lived to regret. Ordered at 1820. Received delivery at 2045. In between were six calls with the restaurant during which they variously told us food was five minutes away (still an hour and a half to go at this point), was just coming out the kitchen now (one hour after ordering), had never been ordered at all before then informing us they'd run out of one of the item we'd ordered so they'd be replacing with pork belly. Eventually when the food showed up it was not worth the wait. Pork belly was somehow both over smokey (think creosote/sucking on a two stroke engine exhaust) and under cooked so the fat had barely rendered. The pulled pork bun was weirdly sour tasting and didn't have a lot to it. The wedges probably would have been tasty if they were hot and crispy. Unfortunately they were cold and soggy by the time they arrived. Coleslaw and pickles could have come straight out of Tesco's. Customer service was shocking, delivery took so long I could probably have raised my own meat in the time and when the food came it was bang average at best. To top it all of the restaurant acknowledged our complaints and rewarded us with a hefty £3 refund. Not sure what we'll spend it all on but it probably won't be this crap again.
