The best restaurants in Brentwood East of England

Great food either eating in or takeout. Been coming here for years. As ever, the Team are always super friendly! Food is also very reasonable.

Fantastic service, Suzi went above and beyond to help us get home when cabs were limited . Food was very good last night too, the lamb ribs wete yummy and good portions. Pinot nice!

Booked a table for 2 last night. When we sat down we were told it was their last night before closing so the menu was limited! Why weren't we told before we booked?! Literally 5 dishes left on the menu. Poor quality. Unprofessional staff, treating the place like a youth centre. No wonder it's closing down.

Visited for the first time on a very busy Saturday evening this interesting restaurant in a very attractive small town just of the high street. Its a modern bar/restaurant with an area outside for eating too with free parking. The staff are very friendly and the service was attentive the whole evening. The Asian menu offers main meals or tapas with the best of ingredients used.

Have been eating here over 26 years the food has always been great. But tonight we ordered a takeaway. We had chicken tikka baltli masala, and a chicken jalfrazi. These were the best meals I have ever eaten there!!! Recommend this gem of restaurant to everyone! Lorraine

Juboraj is my go to Indian restaurant in Brentwood. Food is fantastic, staff are lovely & always accommodating for seating. Exactly what you want from your local Indian.

Was welcomed by a lovely polite and attentive member of staff. Tables nice and clean. Ordered an egg sandwich which came in lovely fresh granary bread and a fresh side salad. Will definitely go back.

Came to visit daughter on placement from uni. Wasn’t busy but was told food be about 30 mins was over a hour till we got it. Husband had a lasagne and daughter and I had ultimate sharer, which was only 2 of each different selection?? Wouldn’t class as ultimate as needed at least 4 of each thing to feed 2 people. Husband said lasagne could had been bigger portion as well. Food was nice though but bigger portions would be great. Staff were all friendly can’t fault them. Would visit again if bigger portions.

Not been here for a very long time but it was central to where my friends live. Have to say I didn't have a good experience the first time and sadly it was not much better this time. Food was luke warm and smothered in sauce and tasteless. The restaurant was like a furnace! Very very loud, seems like the go to place for groups of men. Quite rough TBH. Wont be going back.

Hiya this demi, the girl who had a complaint about Kenny the ‘head doorman’ i just wanted to put in writing how threatened i felt by this man and how uncomfortable i felt in general. Once my friend had already left the doors this is when she was notified that she would not be allowed back in. Once i disputed the fact that she was not notified before leaving inside of the venue, Kenny became very aggressive and started kicking the door back when i was trying to speak to my friend inside. It almost felt like he was on a ‘power trip’ and started speaking down to me in a very belittling way. he said and i quote ‘if i was your dad i would be ashamed of you’ and that ‘i would never want a daughter as slaggy as you’. his actions let alone his words made me feel so uncomfortable to the point that i didn’t want to return anyway. No other staff members were present at this time, incase he tries to change his story based on other witnesses. This is unacceptable behaviour! I work in and have worked in bars before and never have my security team ever spoken to a member of the public in this way ever before. i am absolutely disgusted and devastated that anyone would ever be spoken to like this, let alone someone who is supposed to be maintaining a level of professionalism. We had a great night at The Merchant and experienced no problem’s before an unexpected and threatening issue occurred between myself and the ‘head doorman’ Kenny. My friends and I have attended the Merchant on may occasions and never had an issue however after this incident, after being aggressively attacked by Kenny, i feel that my friends and i will have to avoid this venue in future.

My late Aunt's wake was held here, the staff were kind, attentive and made us very welcome. Thankyou to everyone for superb service, I would certainly come back one day.

Lovely food rather quick service and also do gluten free hence why we keep retuning small hiccup when ordering the last time we visited but was cleared up fast and food was lovely

Lovely and stylish restaurant, we had oysters to start and we were certainly not disappointed, they were delicious and were very fresh, their house rose champagne was very good. For mains we both had the ribeye steak and it was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection. The GM Oli is amazing and has the restaurant running perfectly. Thank you also to the amazing chef, Yacine for providing us with such delicious food. I will certainly be back

Friendly service, and the food is outstanding. Each course delicious and beautifully presented. Thoroughly recommended.

Popped in for a cup of tea and asked if we could sit in the garden and were told they thought all the tables were taken but we should have a look. There were two free tables both with remains of meals on them. Having been told it was "at table" service outside we waited.....and waited. After 10 mins I went in to see staff chatting and asked if anyone was coming to clear the table and take our order. The girl behind the counter said "oh! We'll be with you when we can". We waited but a while longer but in the end decided to go elsewhere. As we left I said " We'll leave it, thanks". No response. Overall the service rating on TA is 4.5 so I guess we just got the wrong day, but it wasn't exactly busy.
