Booked for Christmas Day lunch 2024 for myself and my husband, having done this in previous years and having had a lovely experience, we were really looking forward to coming again. Unfortunately our visit this time was extremely disappointing, we were seated in the bar area rather than the restaurant, which was cold and not very festive at all. The service was not great and the food was very disappointing, expecially for my husband who has to have gluten free food. Certainly not worth £75 a head and I doubt we will be coming here again. Equally disappointing is that I have emailed them twice about our visit and they haven't even bothered to reply!

This place is a tad unusual. Superb food - high quality ingredients, interesting menu, everything perfectly cooked. It loses a star based on a lack of ambience - it is essentially and old fashioned country pub - and the staff were friendly but didn’t know the menu (so didn’t/couldn’t advise). I would recommend it as the food is great and prices are reasonable.

Went to this pub this week. Worst food I've ever had anywhere, gammon, egg and chips, gammon was so overdone you could have used it to repair your shoe sole, egg was hard, chips were cheap frozen ones, if someone can't cook a simple meal like this they shouldn't be calling themselves a chef. Plus there was no heating on in the pub whatsoever, it was absolutely freezing like sitting in a freezer, so we gave the food back and left the pub to go elsewhere, just down the road, it was warm, festive and had a really good meal. Will never go again to Maids Head again!.

I'm always impressed with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the courier.

Visited the cafe and hubby ordered a breakfast builder and I had 2 fried eggs and saute potatoes- the items on my hubby's breakfast were all at different temperatures- our eggs were a bit under cooked and the toast was nearly cold as was my coffee- it was not a pleasant meal and I did tell the cashier how I felt and was given 10% discount- would not eat here again however on a big plus side the sale price and quality of their plants was fantastic and although we spent a lot for our new build garden we got a huge number of plants and shrubs for our money 👍

Its absolutely shaming, horrible behavior from one of the staff, very rude and very slow in making the meal. One of the staff named Harrison Evans was very rude and ignorant, he was very arrogant and served my food not even hot. I hope the manager has a word with him since this isn't how u treat customers. I don't recommend going there at all and stay away from this guy Harrison hes very rude.

We visited 3 Nov. Good Coffe & lovely service from 2 young ladies , but spoilt by rude & sarcastic service from a middle aged bleach blonde lady who thought my daughters allergies & concerns were irrelevant. My daughter had a reaction & queried the contents of the product with the lady who was rude & dismissed her concern & sarcastically asked if she wanted an ambulance! A simple query that was appallingly dealt with. Not good enough, do better.

Stopped here for a birthday meal I was offered dry Turkey or bits of beef that my wife had … my server cut a nice slice of pork and pushed it to one side before cutting a lump of fat fat with a tiny amount of of lean. Then I got 3 roast potatoes a choice of leeks or cauliflower. Apparently not both , hard undercooked carrots And a pile of stuffing. If you want a carvery do not go here. £14 was way to much for the small meal I had.

We stopped at this pub while doing a circular walk around Stretham. The greeting from the lady behind the bar was perfect. Bring a Sunday it was only a choice of a roast or the basket meals. We sat in the garden at the back and had scampi and chips. The food was excellent and very hot. The service was perfect and attentive.

Great drinks, food and service! We popped in for lunch, didn’t book but were very welcome. Had a drink by the bar where our order was taken and then taken to our table. We had the set menu - all delicious!

Family curry night for 4. Booked online via their website. Warm welcome, clean & tidy restaurant and pleasant staff. Attentive but not overbearing, orders taken, drinks, poppadums etc. Excellent menu, good range with a few different dishes on there. All food was very good, tasty, well presented (table needed to be a bit bigger!) and good portion size. All in all, a great first time for us but certainly not the last. Would highly recommend.

The dirtiest coffee shop I have ever been in . Filth everywhere , overflowing bins, stairs thick grime and spilt coffee. Whole shop disgusting avoid at all costs. Visited in morning .
