The best restaurants in Hertsmere East of England

Absolutely dreadful afternoon tea from beginning to end. If I had the option I would have rated this zero. This was a family afternoon tea - 5 adults and 3 children. On arrival I was told that the kitchen was closed; there was an Eastenders function in the garden. Cold coffee was served after 30 minutes - we asked for 4 coffees but received 3. After 4 requests for the missing coffee it arrived. The children’s tea was unimaginative - chocolate spread and jam on white bread. After the tea was served - again one was missing. Again asking for the missing tea this arrived 45 minutes after the time of booking.?staff were unattentive - all wearing their own casual clothes. After writing to the hotel they responded with asking 2 guests to return for another afternoon tea at a cost of £45. I will definitely not be accepting this offer.

Ordered the steak medium. Came out, not as I ordered. Forgot all the sides…. No check up on the food by the staff. Waste of time. Walked out leaving a Stella behind! Bad!!!

Brilliant meal, cooked by Ali and with the kind and prompt attentions of Nash who served us. They had made every effort to decorate the restaurant for Valentine’s Day which helped the atmosphere. A lot cheaper, and better food than the eye wateringly expensive Indian restaurant down the road!

A very friendly Cafe/Restaurant with a great choice of food options. Whether it just having coffee, a snack or a meal this is a great place to eat. Whatever your age there is a menu for all. This Cafe is wheelchair friendly and the staff are very obliging and wonderful to sit and chat to as well.

Stayed a night and did not feel like going out to eat. The food was over priced for what it was and next time I will take a walk to a local pub

Buffet breakfast which is always great especially with kids, evening meal as expected although this is table service so depending on how busy the restaurant is you could be waiting to be served. They could of done with 1 extra person working due to the amount in the hotel and football being on the Friday night as more people were in drinking but she handled it well especially with us rugby lot. See you next year.

Fantastic pub, lovely staff especially Mark. Stayed in London for 6 weeks for work commitments and the good companion easily became my new local. All staff have an approachable can do attitude nothing is too much of an ask. Thank you for being so lovely to a london outsider! X

We ordered online on a v busy Saturday. The web site said 45 mins and it arrived just a little later. Something on my order didn't go through so I rang them up and added it. As they were so busy, it was missed on delivery but I rang them and they dropped it straight here. Customer service 100% Food is fab Thank you Sea Chef!

We cisit this shop last week evening 10 pm Menu and all was normal Coleslaw was not fresh Chickens was heated again after cold i donno not like taste İn Turkiye , in thailand , in germany similar taste but here not was Workers is so nice and helpfull

Just wanted to send an email to 'head office' to praise a lovely lady working in Coventry Ansty pizza hut. Very frustrating not to be able to email without having details of receipt - which I didn't get anyway. Why is it so hard to give praise when it is genuinely deserved without such a palaver.

One of the most authentic souvlaki you can get in the area, yet, one of the cheapest. Great service, always on time and fresh.

We returned here on Friday evening and enjoyed a really lovely meal, great selection of food with plenty of choice, delicious fresh ingredients & a very warm welcome. Very happy to recommend!

Tea was like dishwater. Not even boiling water. Food overpriced. Wet day and massive dog sat next to us and the smell of wet dog put us both off our rolls. Noise level very high. Usual one coffee WFH brigade blocking tables.

Are reviews genuine, definitely not my experience. Used to get delivered, now 50/50 collection and delivery, Portion sizes average, be careful as always when it's late and getting tight on doners the already meager portions shrink. If there was a better one in Borehamwood I'd be there in a shot.
