The best restaurants in King's Lynn and West Norfolk East of England

A really cosy, friendly comfortable place. Very welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere. Wood burning stove was lovely! Decor was tasteful and drinks great.

The fish was stale, completely stewed and had gone yellow and dry at the edges. It was obvious the food had been sat in dirty oil and certainly not made fresh to order. The chips were like eating leather so chucked the majority of the meal in the bin. Absolutely awful and only tried here after the first choice venue was shut. Would not recommend at all.

Seems now to be known as the Baytree restaurant within a garden centre and homestyle complex. There was quite a wide menu and we were happy with our choices (1 salad, 1 sandwich). Service was prompt on arrival and reasonable for food. We were there on a Monday lunch and there were a reasonable number of others there at the time though with space for many more. Handy lunch stop on the way home.

Baytree Hilgay provided some excellent friendly and attentive service on a hot Friday afternoon and came through with an excellent and generous ploughmans which was just right for the two of us. Loved the enthusiasm and charm which served to erase much of the memory of a walk around Wisbech.

This pub epitomises a country pub. A feeling of warmth with the log fire, sofas in the bar area to relax in and a friendly welcome by the staff, excellent food and the ultimate feeling of not wanting to leave. My friend and I visited this pub after our appointment at the bridal shop across the road, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the banter by the staff, made us feel welcome. I recommended it to my parents, who are extremely particular about food, and they enjoyed it as well. We then returned after a bit of Christmas shopping for lunch and a drink with my parents and had a lovely lunch. The seafood sharing platter was superb. The staff were so friendly and made it a pleasure to be there. If I have to make a criticisms, it would be that the cold water prawns were a little bit bland, but I know myself sometimes they can be. This did not put me off going back to this pub. Credit to the owner and staff for making this place a success. 👍❤️

Definitely gone down hill since our last visit. Over priced Tasteless fish. We also has a kabob on stale bread, overall very poor.

Great food and drinks. With a good selection of home cooked food for everyone. Well worth visiting. You can eat indoors or outside in the pleasant garden which has a raised platform where you can watch the sunset over the sea wall. Will definitely return again.

Another fantastic meal at this lovely hotel and restaurant. The food was exceptional, the staff are brilliant, friendly and really looked after us. This is the fifth time here and even though we are thirty minutes away it is well worth the drive. We cannot recommend d it enough. The hotel is really done to a high standard and the friendly staff make it even more special. Thank you once again, see you soon!!

Nice little cafe with a good choice on the menu. Staff were friendly. Hot chocolate was a delight. Will visit again when next in Hunstanton.

I agree with previous review this restaurant has no ambience or atmosphere and I agree is lit like a bright cafeteria. Dimmed lighting and candles on tables would create a more intimate setting. Two young waitresses one was very quiet but pleasant, the other had an unpleasant attitude. Food was very lacking. We had cheese afterwards which was fridge cold-we asked for butter and 2 wrapped pats of butter arrived in the waitress’ hand not in a dish. Wine served in a very water stained glass-clearly no steaming and polishing of glasses here. Told waitress we were not happy she said she would tell her manager, we then went to our room. Breakfast was included in our room rate but we couldn’t face it the next morning, so went elsewhere. On check out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay-says it all. Lack of management and poor staff training.

Just had a delicious lunch in the cafe. The special today was steak (or chicken + mushroom) pie, new pots + veg. I had the steak pie, and they couldn't have stuffed another gram of steak into it. The pastry melted in the mouth and the steak was so tender. As said, absolutely delicious 😋

We have been to the Pera Grill on several occasions before and have had excellent service and food. Our latest visit was not to be so. Ordered food and drinks promptly, a little wait for the drinks but doesn't matter, when the beers arrived they were 0% alcohol, when we questioned the waitress she asked was we sure this was the case and had to point on the bottle's label. Then we waited and waited, saw tables being served, eat their meals and leave, still waiting, no bread and dip, no asking would we like more drinks- actually had to go to the counter and ask. After a wait of nearly 1.5 hours approached the counter to see what's happening, was told why are we complaining as we've only been here 30 minutes...errr no. Finally food came out - parts were cold, had enough by then, offered to pay for the drinks and were leaving, didn't want us to pay for anything and just leave. The impression we got is that those cooking could only deal with 1 table at a time and were extremely slow even dealing with the 1 table. It's a real shame as have previously enjoyed going there and have recommended to others.

When you get to the hotel no luxury rooms no breakfast no bar the hotel is up for sale and your not told but they say their did sorry but no if we had know that we would had booked somewhere else so if you don’t want breakfast or a drink in the evening that find but the room are not good we paid &250 for two nights as we had a family wedding so please be careful

Ordered a chicken fillet burger, cheeseburger, pizza and kebab and I'm extremely disappointed with what i received. All of the food was so salty that it was hardly edible. No sauce or salad in the burger.. what a waste of money. Definitely won't be ordering from here that's for sure.
