This is such a disappointment. Needham Lakes is a wonderful gem in Suffolk. We visit often but this café and the adjoining toilets really let it down. The place could do with a really good clean. The food and coffee are mediocre. We were so thrilled when it opened bit it really hasn't lived up to expectations.

The fish and chips used to be excellent but the last good quality food I had from here was in spring 2023. Not sure if the owner changed but food certainly. The cod is always very good, but the chips are actually not edible each time. The smaller chips are so dry and hard that they go to bin each time. Only the larger chips are ok. Yesterday I ordered chicken strips and they were hard and dry. Looked and tasted like they were re-heated or re-cooked. What happened to this quality chip shop?

It was the first day that the fish stew was on the menu and we are so glad that our timing allowed us to sample it. Will certainly have it again it was mmmm delicious Roy Gerard

nice staff, food okay, cheap and open when we needed them when staying in the travelodge. staff friendly one day, the next day a really grumpy lady who didnt want to be there. no sausages on saturday and no bacon on a sunday!... pretty rubbish when you are offering limited breakfast options already to not actually have the ingredients on offer as advertised above your heads on the boards.. poor management or poor forward planning, or maybe both.

We ate two nights in the restaurant. The menu may be a little limited and the nights specials did not change but the food was very good quality. It was tasty, well cooked and hot. The eventual bill was a pleasant surprise being quite economical for what we had. A major advantage of this restaurant is the staff. All we friendly and attentive and obliging to our needs. Thoroughly recommend it.

I had a Beautiful Birthday Cake created by the the very talented Helena. Made to my designe over the phone it was perfect and very tasty. Exceeded my expectations.

Friday night supper, we ordered 2 rock, 1 haddock, chips and mushy peas. Excellent food, white tasty fish, crisp batter, large portions. All freshly cooked to order, reasonably priced and served with a friendly smile. I would definitely recommend.

Don't expect you order to be correct, and pray they don't forget you if they ask you to park up. Food will be thrust at you but if you're lucky you will grunted at. Save yourself the heartache and go to Ipswich Whitehouse, your trip will take less time!

Visited Burger King and Gregg’s, as they share the same building. Absolutely disgusting, the dining area had food all over the floor. The toilets were filthy. Staff in Gregg’s have no customer service skills! We’re totally uninterested in my custom. I won’t be returning and do not recommend anyone else goes!

That was not what I call sweet n sour Cantonese no pineapple, very little green pepper, way too much onion undercooked and soggy battered chicken balls in what wasn’t very sweet n soury. Very disappointed for the value.

Decided to visit for a carvery Sunday Lunch. Other than coffee not eaten here since they changed hands. Complicated system of actually getting your meal but no complaints from me on that as it means no long queues. We took a table and had a coffee before deciding on the menu. Then I went to the till and paid for two carveries with pigs in blankets as extra. About £26. I was told to return to my table. Later a tray with cutlery and tickets for carvery delivered to our table. The server advised us to wait at the table and a server would collect us and deliver us to the carvery located where you used to get the tea and scones. Eventually we arrived at the carvery with our escort. I chose the gammon, there was a variety of veg, green beans, carrot's diced swede, cabbage, red cabbage , cauliflower cheese which I avoided as it was an overcooked mush and looked very unappealing. Roast potatoes and a very thin gravy. Plus a Yorkshire pudding which was very handy to mop up the gravy.Back to the table . The gammon still had the ‘skin’ attached and various globules of greasy horrible fat, this should all have been removed before hitting the pass. The roast potatoes had appeared to have been cooked and then boiled in oil so they were impossible to cut and if you achieved it gravy splashed everywhere. Hi light of the meal ,the carrots, cooked to perfection with butter and herbs added. The red cabbage as also fine. Stuffing was a tiny ball hard as a rock and the pigs in blankets once more over cooked. So it’s a £12 Tesco meal deal for me in future. Fed up paying good money for sub par food. The staff here are however what makes it,friendly,helpful an approachable.

The place is absolutely filthy. Dull, depressing just rough. The croissant was burnt on the outside and raw dough in the middle. I can confirm the "coffee" was a liquid. Wasn't brave enough to use the toilets.
